  1. Have you talked to your surgeon about the issue you are having with your legs? Is there a common time when it happens or just random? My legs fall asleep when I sit in certain positions but moving positions helps. Again it's something that I experienced prior to surgery. I have back issues that has resulted in me having sciatica so I always have pain in my legs. It started with my right leg then my left decided it was missing out on the fun so now the front of my thighs are always numb to the touch but very painful under the surface of the skin. Very odd sensation. Oh, and there are days when I get shooting pain down my leg (varies from leg to leg) if I happen to move in a position it doesn't like while sitting or laying in bed.
  2. My hips have been sore as well. I did have the problem pre surgery but now it seems more pronounced. Some days are worse than others and the pain goes from my sides down into my groin area

I can only speak for Protein2O because it's the only one I've tried, but it's pretty good. Not really that sweet. It adds to your fluid intake for the day plus the added bonus of the protein. $7 for a four pack, give it a try. You never know. During mushy stage I started mixing them with yogurt. Tastes really good.

    Struggle

That is horrible to hear. I wish you had an easier time up until now. You'll get past this and it will a distant memory. A war story you can tell in the future. And they say this is the easy way out, huh.
  5. Was supposed to be 6 weeks but saw my surgeon at week 5 and was given the green light, no more restrictions. Peas, corn, iceburg, spinach, carrots, cucumber, tomato, pickles, avocado. I have had no problem with any of them. Just like anything else, start slow and see how you react to it. Good luck and enjoy.
  6. That seems pretty good for a protein bar. What were the carbs. I probably wouldn't have as a go to all the time but if the carbs aren't super high, yeah why not.

How did you pick your user name?

First initial of my 1st name and first 3 letters of my last. My name is Jon but my friends all call me "J". No clever meaning just easy. Anyway, good for you for making the decision for yourself. That's how it should be. It's your health and your life. Good luck on your upcoming surgery. Your going to do wonderful.

Im exhausted 11 days post-op need advice

I had way more energy post surgery than I did pre. I think it was the B12. I've read a lot of people suggest it. It was something my PCP had me on for the past 2 years and I havn't stopped taking anything she's prescribed. (Of course it was all approved by the surgeon).
  9. I stayed one night and I don't mind that I did. I was not given an option and didn't even think to ask to go home early. The time flew by and the staff was great.
  10. I thought a dude started this thread trying to pick up chics. Congrats to all you "shorties" on your success through.

    I need help

If you could provide details about yourself you'll get a lot of help. Type of surgery, are you tracking your meals/drinks. calorie intake, are you sticking to your suggested plan, if not what are you eating that is not recommended, how many ounces of water are you taking in per day, starting weight, current weight, age. You don't have to give all the info mentioned but some type of info might will help. There are a bunch of great folks here that will gladly give you the best info they can.

Have you tried adding MIO or some other type of flavoring to your water to help out. Or maybe protein waters like Protein2O?

    Chewing

Same for me. I've never counted. At times I've been conscious of the texture before I swallow but most of the time I just chew and swallow. Have never had any issues yet.

    Two year anniversary!

Congrats on keeping on it for two years. Great motivation for those that have worries. I had very few doubts pre surgery and post have had none so far. It's all a new experience to me and I couldn't be happier with my choice. If felt like I was at the end of my rope with my old stomach/old me and the only thing left to do was fall. So glad this surgery came into my life. Also huge CONGRATS on your weight loss!!!

    Do you snack?

My plan states at the "lifelong" stage to - Eat at least 3 meals per day. No more than 6 meals per day (Include snacks, nibbles and protein drinks). I think the confusing thing with our plans is the way the wording is used. Post surgery I guess snacks now classify as a meal because it's about the size of a new normal meal now. Maybe the way your plan is written no snacks means no snacking or as some call it, grazing? So count a snack as a meal but do not graze on anything over a long period of time. And of course always try to make a healthy choice.

    SURGERY date 9/18

    Congrats and good luck!!!
  17. Just curious if anyone has used or is using ground avocado pit in their diet? I heard about it being able to be used months ago, found it interesting but kind of just brushed it off. Recently came across the idea again and will more than likely try it out. Just wanting to know if you use it and what effects if any have you noticed?

Great to hear!! A lot of people agree the pre-op is the hardest part. Congrats on your surgery and know it gets better everyday. Happy healing!!!!!

    Anyone scared

Sorry to hear your not doing so well. It's a new world after but you have to try and not let it get to you this way. Know that in a time it will become normal and you'll hopefully feel differently. Try to keep a positive outlook by knowing what the future has to offer. Remember the reasons you wanted to do this and know that those things will be in your life soon. Best to you!!!!
  22. It's hard for me to see any difference in myself as well. I compare pics and they all look the same to me. I can see the difference in your pics for sure. Your face and chin are more defined and your neck as well. Great job on your loss, keep up the great work.
  23. For me it was broken down into clear liquids and full liquids. Clears was just that, any approved liquid that was see through. Soups were ok if clear but had to be strained. On the full liquid diet any soup was ok but still had to be strained. Puree'd soups wasn't allowed until that stage, "Puree".
