  1. Yea, the biggest incision or the one that has been tugged the most with instruments is usually the most painful. For me it was the one under my breast bone, this puncture was used for the liver retractor and although it doesn’t hurt superficially the actual muscle underneath is pretty sore but everyday hurts less and less. My surgeon tried to push the sleeve on me but I absolutely knew that it wasn’t the right procedure for me especially with the amount of weight I need to lose (a little over 150lbs) I just can’t take chances with my last resort, so I decided that if I’m going to do this I will go all out. You are very lucky to have a team of people that found your problem and didn’t try to blame you for the unsuccessful surgery. I hope everything works out for you and I’ll deff be stalking you around here and looking for your updates :-) Yo-Yo Girl from New York City

Sounds a lot like me, I was ecstatic and I still am. I’m just so happy and grateful for my little pouch. From my approval all the way to surgery and even right now as I heal I stayed away from people and social media. I just needed to organize myself and time to be in my head. I didn’t go out or do much of anything. Buying the things I needed pre and post op and getting myself together was all I focused on. I also did a lot of cleaning to have my place ready when I got back from the hospital. I don’t have much clothes to donate because I literally lived off 2 pair of jeans and a few “just my size” shirts with and without sleeves. I refused to be buying clothes for my size. Are you having a revision because of GERD or do you feel like the sleeve isn’t the right tool for you? Today my goal will be to drink more water 🤢 Yo-Yo Girl from New York City

[emoji23] I know he really lost his mind trying to talk to me like I’m clueless and he’s some know it all with that long plagiarized copied and pasted comment. Congrats on your upcoming surgery. I’ll deff like to stay in touch with as many people who had their procedure during or around the same time as me. It’s great to compare milestones and get an idea where I should be or what I need to be working harder at. My surgery was on Monday and I didn’t eat for the 1st time until Thursday (yesterday). I had a premier protein bottle and that took me all day, I took a nip of a sugar free popsicle and had like 4oz drained chicken soup for dinner. It’s important for me to compare what i eat and how fast to others. I want to know if I’m doing ok or if I’m sipping too much. You’re on the liquid diet? are you nervous or feel like you already know what’s coming? Yo-Yo Girl from New York City

  6. Wow you’re doing really good. I need to work on my water intake. It just feels weird in my stomach. I too had slight pain under my breast bone, that was my biggest incision but now I can bend and drive comfortably. I don’t need my pain meds anymore but I like taking a dose in the morning and one at night, it helps me sleep.
  7. Ask them if they can give you the nausea patch that goes behind the ear. That really saved my life because I couldn’t tolerate the one that dissolves in the mouth. You’ll feel better once you are home. At the hospital they wanted me to drink a broth that tasted like a wet shoe and wanted me to drink oral meds that were vile and drink nasty Gatorade that was all aspartame. at home you have the things you like and you can take all the time you need once your nausea is under control. Good luck girlie. Yo-Yo Girl from New York City

    2 week diet hard

I just had my surgery on Monday and this preop diet was the hardest thing for me. I couldn’t go through with it and I ate eggs for breakfast and plain salmon for dinner [emoji87] the last two days after my surgery I did liquids to make sure everything was empty in there. Good luck guys you are almost on the other side. Yo-Yo Girl from New York City
  10. I feel great, everyday I feel less and less pain. My incisions never hurt since day one and my stomach hasn’t been bloated. I can drink like a 4oz cup of chicken bone broth drained. Plain water is the hardest for me because I’m not thirsty and I get a little stuck feeling when it lands on my pouch. It only lasts a second but I really dislike the feeling. So far I haven’t felt hunger or fullness. I just try to sip my protein shakes and I was able to drink a whole premier protein bottle today by drinking 1oz every 20 min. Tomorrow I’ll aim for another protein drink, more water and a cup of broth. how much are you drinking? Yo-Yo Girl from New York City

  14. Thank you! This is still so surreal to me I’m afraid of going to sleep and finding out it’s all a dream [emoji28] Yo-Yo Girl from New York City
  15. First time I get something to eat I have Splenda, lemon [emoji522] juice concentrate, Lipton tea and chicken bouillon also light Gatorade. My meds.. Tylenol and phosphorus, apparently I was low on that If I drink my medicine I can’t eat any of that food for hours. They should have brought it in earlier [emoji849] Yo-Yo Girl from New York City
  16. I just had surgery a few hours ago with krekely and OMG choose him! I feel amazing! I don’t have pain I don’t have gas I’m not sore.. I’m so happy that I can lay here in recovery and feel well enough that I can actually appreciate this blessing and opportunity I just got versus being miserable, in pain and regretting it. I’m not religious but I’ll have to say god bless his hands and skills. I’m sure even if you get bessler you’ll have a good experience being that you’re in a center of excellence for your procedure with undeniably some of the best doctors. You also get a nurse right at your bedside for anything you need, they literally don’t move from there. I’m so overjoyed that I can go on and on. Yo-Yo Girl from New York City
  17. Hey guys! Been out of surgery a few hours now and I feel amazing! I’m happier now than I was when I got my approval! My pain is very minimal, I don’t have much gas and what little I do have is not uncomfortable at all. Although I wasn’t able to drink water earlier I did request it to rinse my mouth and rub it around my gums and surprisingly once the dryness was gone it felt as if I had drank the cup. 18. I find myself doing a lot of research before I buy anything. I feel very happy with my latest haul. What have you bought or plan to get to better prepare yourself for this journey? I also got my new oversized sweats to leave the hospital in. Yo-Yo Girl from New York City
  19. I’m so sorry that you’re not feeling too good I hope you get good pain meds and can begin to feel better to enjoy this wonderful blessing you just got.
  20. Thank you! It went very well [emoji108] Yo-Yo Girl from New York City

My surgery is tomorrow and I’m so hungry.. I decided today I’ll have as many protein shakes as I need to not be hungry. I’m only supposed to have 5 but I may need another 2. My cravings are also out of control, I’m dying for pizza with pepperoni and cheesy fries with wings and a cold soda with ice. Yo-Yo Girl from New York City

    Approval!

The approval is actually good for 3-4 months and your team chooses the date according to your surgeons availability and then this date gets sent to insurance. That part doesn’t require approval but the date always has to be sent once everything is scheduled. I received a similar letter and like you I thought that’s what it meant as well.
