  1. I’d love if everyone checked in here to share their updates, questions, milestones, meals, high and lows and everything in between. My surgery was May 21st and I’ll love to hear from everyone who had their procedure recently. I’m totally obsessing about how much is everyone else sipping [emoji28][emoji478] Yo-Yo Girl from New York City
  2. When did people start noticing your weightloss and how different you look? I’m 8lbs away from losing a total of 50lbs in under 3 months and quite honestly NO ONE has said Damn you look smaller or wow you’ve lost weight. They simply haven’t noticed any change. My mom sees it but she’s also paying attention to the changes because she is the only one who knows about my surgery. I took lots of pics and i steady take them to compare myself and the change IMO is astronomical. I truly don’t need the validation from others and I’ll even be uncomfortable with that sort of attention but I’m curious to know.. when did others start noticing that you were smaller? Did people that hadn’t seen you in a while noticed first or the people you work with or come across all the time? How much weight did you lose before people noticed?
  3. I think you’re on to something here. That might be it. People may feel like they are somewhat acknowledging you were fat and not trying to be rude. if I saw someone I knew lose 50lbs and I didn’t know they had surgery they will have to tell me how they did it lol I’m going to say something and ask questions 🙊 id want the secret lol
  4. I’ve been 263lbs for 2 fkn weeks!! I only eat plain meat and premier protein shakes and I drink just water sometimes I add crystal light. I workout at the gym like a dog burning 500cals 4-5days a week, yet I’m stuck. I’m so pissed I just want to inject pure syrup into my veins 😤 I thought it was simple math & science cut carbs (mine are at 0) more calories going out than coming in which I burn more calories than I eat. So how the holy hell am I able to maintain my weight? It’s not even supposed to be scientifically possible It’s fkn crazy!!! there’s people who would have lost 20 lbs eating like this and I can’t lose 1lb eating like this and with a bypass. I’m so frustrated I could beat myself up! Oh and I’m 2 months out where’s that honeymoon stage where I’m supposed to eat whatever and still lose?!?!? I can’t even lose while not eating. Of course I’m the person this surgery wouldn’t work for. I’m over it!!

    79lb difference!

    Wow major difference

    I know everyone has them

Happened to me.. I was stuck on 263 for 2+ weeks and the scale will fluctuate up and back to 263 despite solely eating protein, shakes and working out. I honestly believe that the body is really smart and starts adjusting to the calorie deficiency some more than others this is why some people have to work twice as hard to lose. I finally broke my stall and I’m down to 258 my fear now is that I will again sit on that number for another week or two. I know this isn’t a marathon but I just have way too much weight to lose and I deprive myself way too much to be losing at the speed of the average joe even after a surgery. Hope you break your stall soon. Good luck!
  7. Has anyone tried these? I’ve been all over the forum and not one mention of these. One pill a day sounds like a dream come true, I already have calcium that I love (barimelts) I put the chewable in water, it dissolves and I drink it..Magic! Yo-Yo Girl from New York City

    Plateau

The prob with me is that I have a lot of restriction, i can’t fully eat 2 oz of meat I mean i Can but i don’t feel very good once I’m finished. I’ll be very full and with a stomach ache. So I don’t want to make it an even smaller portion adding veggies but I do love veggies and I actually tolerate them quite well. I’ll deff look into those fiber mixes and deff incorporate it until I can add veggies. And you’re deff right sometimes after a cheat meal or something to switch things up the body goes back on track but I’m so scared of gaining and being stuck at a higher number lol lord I’ll really come here and rant. I’ll keep you updated with how it goes.

    Plateau

My water intake has been better than it ever has considering I stopped drinking light beers to speed things up and even seltzer water because very little of it quench my thirst. 2 things i should have never been drinking but did and still lose weight not that I quit I’m stalling, how ironic. I don’t do weights and will not start to until I’ve lost another 30% of my weight I’m focused on lots of cardio and resistance training. I measure my loss with a scale not a BMI tool or measuring tape because that’s all that matters to me. I track my weight on an app called happy scale so even if my weight fluctuates a pound or a pound and a half it means nothing to me because I understand my moving average. When I tell you I’m stuck on this weight like a rock unfazed without reason i mean it. I’ve been telling myself to be patient because there is no other diet or regimen better than the one I’m already on, i can not restrict anymore nor am I upping it and I’m deff not going to start eating carbs hell with the “good carbs”. Speaking of which, I’ve also been on ketosis the entire time. So to sum it up.. I eat clean as all hell I literally have nothing to log because I only have meat without even marinating it bc I don’t want to add cals and carb just salt and pepper and premier protein shakes and water. Clean lean low cal fat and carb. If someone else wrote this I’ll blatantly call them a liar because such isn’t possible one would be melting away. When I tell you I’m furious it’s an understatement! Thanks for trying to figure this out with me 💪
  10. Anyone else has this illogical fear that they’ll be the one this surgery doesn’t work for? It’s hard for me to picture a day when I’ll be full with little sips. All the reading, researching and success stories can’t keep me from feeling like what if. Anyone else felt this way? Yo-Yo Girl from New York City
  11. I drink seltzer water and beer and I drink with my food if I must 🤷🏻‍♀️ plain water makes me feel like I just gained consciousness after drowning in a pool.. it’s a weird feeling.. my stomach just feels full to capacity with swamp water lol
  12. So far I’ve had one egg with a slice of bacon, that was my “brunch”. I plan to have a premier protein shake at 3:00pm and for dinner at 6:00PM a few slices of salsalito turkey with one babybel cheddar cheese. That’s what a typical day looks like for me. How about you? This is well under 800cals and has approximately 5 carbs total for the day.

Need advice and encouragement not ripped apart

It does make a difference and if you had done your research you would know that. I too have a problem controlling what I eat simply because I like food. 3 weeks after my bypass I really tried to eat rice beans with chicken and avocado and guess what, I couldn’t. The 2 spoons I had landed on my stomach like a ton of bricks and the 3rd spoon I threw up. But guess what would happen if I could actually eat rice? I’d prob be eating it. And that’s why I got a bypass because if I could eat around my tool I probably would. It’s a legitimate question. people who get the sleeve understand that it’s a tool that helps you control the amount of food you eat but not the quality. So if you know you have a problem eating high fats and carbs and you can’t control it why not pick a surgery that keeps you from making those poor choices?

How long did it take to lose 100lbs

Did you guys workout or was it diet alone? I go to the gym at least 3 times a week but try to go all week first thing in the morning. I have to admit that it’s help my stamina like 70% I can walk so much more comfortably without feeling winded.
  17. For those of you who have lost that much weight, first of congrats and how long did it take to lose it? 6 months, a year, longer? Taking this day by day can sometimes be overwhelming and I often find myself wishing it were already 6 months later because I can’t wait to get to where I’ll be by then. I started my bypass journey at 304lbs May 21st and I’m now 270lbs If this question triggers you then walk away and spare me with the don’t compare yourself to others and everyone loses at a diff rate! Why didn’t you get a gastric bypass or DS if you eat without control?

    Rate your recovery

If not for my incisions I would never have known that anything was done to me. The only pain I had and it was minimal was from the incision below my breast bone. No gas, no nausea ever, no pain. I’ll be two months out on July 21st.

    Appetite back with a vengance!

Girl you picked the wrong surgery. You have a true food addiction you like to eat and you over indulge on “bad foods”. I was the same way and that’s why I didn’t pick the sleeve. Im sure the sleeve people have great success but I needed MORE!
  22. Mine was $28,000 with tons of other bills in the thousands prior to surgery.
