    Tricare

Mine took less than 3hrs. I hear that Tricare is one of the easiest insurances to go through for labpand.
  4. I had both done last month, (hernia was discovered during surgery)and I don't think it made a bit of difference. I felt pretty good, and with no pain. I will say this, it's been 4wks since my surgery and I have not had any heartburn. (which I used to have all the time)
  5. i didn't have to drive myself home, but I was so nauseated from the drive and weak from the surgery. I could hardly hold my head up.I wouldn't chance it.

    Mid back Pain

Hi Karen: I had my surgery on May 5th and have just been recently experiencing the same type of back pain too. I never had back pain before, I don't have it all the time, it comes and goes.Is your like that?
  7. I had my banding on May 5th and while they were doing that they found a very large hiatel hernia. They repaired it and i am doing fine.
  8. I was banded on May 5th and everyday I feel better and better, except for the fact that I'm exhausted. I just feel so wiped out, with a bit of shortness of breath. I have had very little gas pains and I can sleep very well. I am eating blended soups, protein drinks, jello and yogurt. I can eat these just fine but I can't eat much at one time. I had requested one week off from work but honestly I don't know that I will have the energy to go back on Monday. Does anyone else feel "wiped out"?
  9. I was banded on monday May 5th, and I feel weak and winded. It does seem to get better every day.

Kathy: I just wanted you to know that I'm doing very well today. I never got gas pains and I haven't even needed to take any pain meds for the sore muscle pain I am experiencing. I do need help every once in a while to get out of bed, or the tub but otherwise these simple actions are getting easier. The incisions are very small. I also wanted to let you know that I dreaded the Heparin injections that they give you to prevent blood clots (they inject you in the abdomen) but all three were painless because they are given subcutaneous not intramuscular. I'm already eating cream of wheat, pudding and cream soups, so i don't feel hungry at all. I hope everything goes this easy for you too.

wow Kathy: I'm really happy for you. I was banded yesterday. everything went well except that my surgeon found a very large hiatel hernia while he was in there, so he went ahead and repaired it and showed me the pics that he took. I had to spend the night in the hospital but otherwise I really don't have much pain. I liken the pain to the pain you get when you do alot of sit-ups. more of a soreness. anyway I'm glad it's over. I am on to a skinnier me. Kathy, let us know when you get a surgery date.

Hi Kathy: Any word yet on your approval from ins.?
  13. Thanks for the reply SherryW. I have thin hair as it is, so I'll be sure to eat the right amount of protein.
  14. I have read that with gastric bypass surgeries hair loss is common because of nutritional deficits. Is it also common with the band? I haven't come across any posts about this, or did I miis them?
  15. My band date is May 5th.
