I'm the OP of this thread and wanted to check back in to share my experience since being sleeved.
I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and I already notice a difference. My skin and hair have stopped being oily and I no longer have issues with hot flashes/sweating. My hemorrhoids disappeared immediately after the surgery. And I got my period on time for the first time in ages. It lasted 3 days with only half a day of serious cramping. For about 2 years now I've been dealing with not getting a period at all, and then having a period that wouldn't stop.
I am genuinely impressed so far.

MdmMargott got a reaction from Frustr8 in When did you start losing hair?
Yes, for me it started around three and a half months post-op. It's not too bad though. I have PCOS and I've seen worse than this. My hair was already thin and fragile before sleeve and I plan to make some changes for some time already.

I don't drink, but I understand a little of your motivation. You were checking" Hmmn let me see if I'm still Tracy after my surgery?" And you body said No No little girl! You're still Tracy but you are a remodeled refurbished Tracy. That expensive surgery, it did something to you. Beer tasted yucky, couldn't stuff things in like you used to? Honey, the surgery worked ,didn't it? No more eating like a field hand, no more cowboy benders, no more just" one of the guys" Road house Ruby turned into Calm, Careful Claire and you're better for it. I don't drink but my own Ah Ha moment will be ahead. My grand-daddy and late Hubby's grand-daddy both had a saying, his in Dutch, mine is country English " Them that don't listen, gotta feel!" Very true, very tru!

I have Hashimoto’s that is well controlled. My endocrinologist says that too many people blame hypothyroidism for causing weight gain or hindering weight loss. He says the #1 factor with his healthiest/normal BMI patients are that they all walk everyday, more than the average adult. Not crazy miles but consistently everyday.
You do not need to go back to a liquid diet to jump start your weight loss. That is crash diet mentality. The post-op diet was necessary to heal your stomach and prevent staple leaks. Now you need to eat fewer calories and focus on dense protein to fill yourself up.

    It couldn't.
You are loosing fat, but maybe have some excess water weight, probably some swelling from surgery that shows on scale.
Week 3 stall is a common thing anyway.

You don't have to chop it yourself, have your chair syled by a professional, they can work with what you have and make it not look raggedy. You are somebody, pamper yourself a little. You can grow it back out later if you want, okay?

I made a vow to myself to not eat any of the following as they were my downfall in the past and I haven't yet...

    Chocolate
    Biscuits
    Cakes/ pastrys
    Pies/sausage rolls etc

Its not hard to do either as like others, my taste buds have totally changed. The only regret I have is that tea doesn't taste the same which is a shame as I loved a good cuppa.

MdmMargott got a reaction from Frustr8 in Just don’t care about Sweets and Chocolate anymore.
I'm almost four months post-op and still didn't have not one bite of chocolate, ice cream or any sugary food and they certainly were my go to food in the past. I don't have major cravings, more like some nostalgic feelings sometimes, but I just know how addictive these things are and how much damage they've already made and I refuse to give in. I was just really mentally prepared to let sugar go from my life and my new sleeve made physical process go smoother, but the major shift happened in my mind.

Where I live (Eastern Europe), one treatment for chin and neck area with this laser (Lumenis Lightsheer Desire) can be found for 20 euros. I can see on realself.com that in US it is much more expensive.
You can not wax it or pluck hair with tweezers 6 weeks before treatment, but you can shave it off. I used to shave it daily unfortunately (it was such yucky feeling having to do it ) and just used thick foundation with very good coverage. After two treatments, I start noticing some very fine hair growing 4 weeks after my last visit, but it is not as noticable and doesn't bother me nearly as much.

I have PCOS and I have seen much improvement with my periods right after surgery.
This year before surgery I had only one period and it was at the end of March, it was very heavy and caused my blood hemoglobin to drop from high normal (had blood test a month before my surgery) to anemic (blood test done when I was admitted in hospital).
Then I had surgery on April 20th and was taken off metformin.Got my period on 5/1, than on 6/2 and on 7/6 and all that without any meds!
I decided to try laser treatment for hirsutism, went to clinic which has a medical grade diode laser (Lumenis Desire) and had two treatments for now (plan to have three more) and the results are very very good.
My bet is to have existing hair follicles lasered off and hope that my now more balanced hormones wan't cause new ones forming.
