  1. @courtb86 I would try to chew on ginger. Yes, raw ginger. Just peel the skin and chew or suck on it, put it in decaf hot tea. It's spicy but it's natural and tends to rid nausea almost instantly. Did for me in my first trimester. I wouldn't drink any carbonated bevs as this point just because it isn't a good idea for a bariatric patient. Good luck to you and your baby.
  2. On the desktop version, there is a button right next to the "+" that says "quote", just click that and you're golden...
  3. I'm scheduled for July 25th. Right around the corner. Excited and nervous!
  4. @Kella112 is it bad that I am married but think my surgeon is a "Richard Gere" from "Pretty Woman" type of cute....LOL Look but no touch
  5. About 70 lbs of the 97 I had initially lost.
  6. Hi @Chrisb428 Thank you! When is your big day? Excited? Nervous? Any pre-op diet?
  7. @Herewego2018 Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I am on the 2 week -pre op diet as well. My surgery is July 25th. I can tell you Syntrax Nectar is some pretty decent tasting protein shakes. I believe the cheapest is actually bariatric pal. I've been updating my profile status with updates of how each taste. I ordered the variety samples (17 FLAVORS) and some have been "meh", and some are very tasty...but to each, his own. I also have had the pure protein bars. They are very good! The chocolate caramel is delish! As for the clear diet post op, my hospital included a grocery list in my weight program book. If you want me to share, I can. Best of luck to you!
  8. Hi @Ylime and summer peeps! I am scheduled for July 25th here in Lehigh Valley, PA! On day 3 of my 2 week pre-op diet. I'm ready to roll!
  9. Goodwill and thrift shops are good places to shop if you are transitioning and don't want to spend bookoo bucks on a new wardrobe JS.
  10. @123mollie When I had my VSG in 10/2012, I was slumped over the chair in pain like "what did I get myself into" and "this was a mistake". That is the gas from anesthesia. Walk, walk, walk as much as you can around the house or if your well enough to venture outside and do a lap in your drive way or backyard. You have been though major surgery! Keep telling yourself that! You just need to heal, love! Rest up when you can and take your zofran! You SO got this!
  11. Ahhh, there is nothing comparable to a New York bagel, especially if they are from Brooklyn Enjoy it!
  12. @churchgirl You have the mindset and your new "tool" , make it a habit and your new way of eating and you will be fine. I had my initial VSG 10/2012 and years out. I too was a grazer. I say "was" because I am less than 2 weeks away from my revision and I'm not looking back. Something that was written in my hospital program and holds testament, "eat to live, don't live to eat". I just need to convince my brain to get happy neurons somewhere else
  13. Just take your supplements, sip your water/clear liquids and let yourself heal and REST, REST, REST! Your body just went thorough the ringer!! Congrats!
  14. A big congrats to you!
  15. @apositivelife4me I am the prime example of why not to drink carbonated beverages! That along with other factors (had my son and switched on different medication) contributed to my stretching out my sleeve and now here I am getting a revision in 2 weeks. I would not recommend it for the better part of a couple of years post op if ever. It's not worth it!
  16. @sillykitty I will have to give each of those a try! Eager to try the moon cheese ones!
  17. @Tealael Happy Birthday! Ugh, currently on my 2 week pre op diet and that looks SO GOOD! Hope you enjoy :::drooling all over my keyboard::::
  18. I have had mostly supportive people. It is very true when you can sense it in people's tone when they voice their concern or opinion. To those "Debbie Downers, I think "Just be happy for me for Christ sake, I'm getting healthier"! Ready or not here I come
  19. @newmeinfla I started my 2 week pre-op diet today. Ugh, it's been rough but necessary! Protein shake for breakfast, a protein bar for snack, steamed chicken and veggies for lunch and now another protein bar and then another protein shake for dinner in a bit. My energy is down a bit since my caloric intake is so small but I have a desk job so I think I'll be okay! It's good you are starting the liquid diet now. It should be nice to ease into the liquid post op! Rooting for you 25th twinny!
  20. @newmeinfla Congrats! I'm the 25th as well
  21. 2 more weeks, I'll be re-sleeved. I started my 2 week pre-op diet to "shrink the liver" before surgery. So far, so good. It's been really difficult to consume so much water. I have a hard time getting 2/ 16oz. bottles down but I know how important it is. That said, I also need to begin my nascobal (vit B12 spray), multi and calcium. I'm so fortunate to have this opportunity, AGAIN...and get my health back on track.
  22. @Elle_Woods best of luck to you! I've never heard of a single incision surgery. How interesting. Is it laparoscopic?
  23. @Skinnygirl04 I'm getting a revision. I can tell you that my initial surgeon had tendency to push for the stages sooner than other patients. The warning signs are your body's way of telling you ENOUGH. In my case, my nose would run and my heart would beat fast...sounds strange but they are effects with some people. In regards to soup as more of a puree, the thickened ones I did the sip shots out of a medicine cup like the water after your surgery. It worked and usually after 3 to 4 sips, it was game over and my nose would run. Hope this helps.
