toodlerue replied to greenlitego70's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Is there a nutritionist you can talk to? One from the hospital or through your insurance? We have Cigna & I talked With one on the phone every 2-3 weeks after my surgery. Best of luck to you. -

6 weeks out, now ready to eat "normal" foods...Questions inside
toodlerue replied to CyclicalLoser's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I ate Meatloaf made in my insta pot during the soft stage. I didn’t have any problems at all. The insta pot makes The meatloaf so tender & juicy not at all like when I would make it in the oven. Everyone is different you have to figure out what your body can handle -
Yes! It means they are healing. I have always put a hydrocortisone cream on my stitches when they started to itch! I had major back surgery 5 years ago. Image having a 20” incision down the middle of your back start itching! I used hydrocortisone on that too with no problems! Just make sure your hands are clean!

It normally takes me 3 months to go through my 60 count of Norco (I have them because my back is fussed from T2-T12). I went through 1 bottle the month after surgery. The pain in my shoulder from the gas used during surgery was so bad for 3 weeks. The pain lasted longer then any other gas pain I had from any of the abdomen surgeries when the gas was used.

I’m at the same place you are. My surgery was May 16th. I have only lost 25 since surgery, but 35 since Jan. That’s when my doctor counts it from.

Paraesophageal Hiatal Hernia
toodlerue replied to manleygirl's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had A Fundolipaction 12 years ago to repair a Hiatal hernia. It came undone & forced my esophagus into an L shape & 1/2 of my stomach was above my diaphragm. I had a bypass 2 months ago. My BMI is in the 30’s. My dr made my stomach a little bigger & didn’t bring as much of my intestines up. He isn’t a Bariatric Dr. He’s a Thorasic/Esophagus dr. -
I had A RNY in May. I don’t have problems with gas at all. I’m constipated most of the time & I’ve read that that’s normal too. Everyone is different after surgery so who knows what your body will do.

Talk to the supervisor who’s name you have! Something isn’t right. I’m don’t think anything is fishy, i just think no one knows what they are talking about!

4 weeks post surgery - should my abdomen be tender and bloated?
toodlerue replied to Kasrielle's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My stomach was really bloated for the 1st 4 weeks or so. I was so constipated. I now take a stool softener every day & have Metamucil every other day. I’m 6 weeks out now & I have finaly been feeling well enough to do more. I had A RNY. -
I sleep with mine every night so my husband doesn’t hit🤣

I have Slept with a Cpap for over 12 years. Put it on every night. It takes some getting use to, but I find that most people aren’t persistent & give up on it to easily & too soon.

Sleeve to bypass revision success stories

I’m 6 weeks out from my RNY & just now starting to have hunger/fullness feelings. I think our bodies are just in shock from what we just put them through & they don’t know how to feel yet! -
I miss straws! I had back surgery 5 years ago & I got used to drinking from a cup with a lid & a straw. I have gas & bloating so bad I don’t want to add anymore air into my system. I also miss making protein shakes in my Nutribullett. Is seems to make the shake too airy & I get more bloated!

Did your doctor use staples or stitches to close you up & how many openings did he make? I have 7 openings including the one from the drain and he used staples! I’m not to happy about that! I have had 5 surgeries in my abdominal region & have never been closed with staples! Toodles, Rue
