Ohmyword. I’m so sorry you were treated so badly! She needs to be reported ASAP. This cannot be tolerated! My heart is aching for the emotional & physical pain you are in. What is wrong with people ?!?!?

Week after surgery and I'm struggling
toodlerue replied to Bonines's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I took a lot of anti nausea & gasX the 1st 2 months post op. My daughter didn’t start feeling well until she could add eggs & soft foods after her surgery. Does your insurance have a nutritious you can speak with? We have Cigna & they called me every week for the 1st 2 months. -
What an inspiration!

I need to talk about constipation post op

I was the same way! I was taking 2 laxatives, 2 stool softeners, eating 4 prunes, and using miralax everyday. My PCP told me to take 200-300mg of magnizium cirate a day for 4 days in the morning. If I needed more help I was to add another dose in the evening. Do that for 4 days. Add another does in the afternoon if I needed to. I take it 3 times a day now & I have a movement every morning now when I wake up. They aren’t always little rabbit turds either 🤣 anymore. It was painful getting to the 3 doses a day but it has helped me so much. I still need to do an enema about once a week just to clean it all out. I have been consipated for for most of my life, the surgery & the eating of small amounts of food at a time just made it all worse! -

You’ve lost 20 pounds in less then a month!!!! That’s pretty good! There is an app call Get~2~Goal You put in your weight, type of surgery & some other info. It shows you where you should be at.

Yes! Sometimes after I eat I just need to get the taste of the food out of my mouth so I will take a small sip and swish it around. Servers just look at me funny when I don’t want anything to drink. I just Ask for water to make them feel better.

I love our Magic Bullet. If I made A roast for the family I would Blend up some meat add a cooked carrot & some juice. It was pretty good. -
It just depends on your doc & your starting weight. I wasn’t told to do anything but a bowl prep the night before. I put Myself on a 2 week liquid diet.

Soup & scrambled eggs.

You don’t need much. Chapstick, phone charger, pillow. Wear something comfortable to the hospital & wear the same thing home.

Horrible taste in my mouth
toodlerue replied to Faith2Faith's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
It’s because you aren’t chewing any food yet. It will get better as you move through the stages & progress to more solid foods. -
Yes. You can get them in the same isle at the store as the stuff for heartburn. It’s usually in the bottom shelf. They come in chewable or regular.

Dramamine

Not very much! Seems like some days it took me all day to finish one shake!

You were pumped full of fluids in the hospital. Be patient, it will happen.

Have you tried the Russle Stovers SF candies? I cant stand SF stuff! But these don’t have an after taste to me.

I too had headaches around this time frame. I added some electrolytes (sorta like Gatorade). Helped some. But some days the only way I made it through was with a Norco. I also had a RNY for failed Nissen.

The shoulder pain is from the gas that was used to blow up your abdomen during the surgery. Some surgeons are better at getting the gas out then others. My pain lasted for 3 weeks! It was horrible. I used heat & a tens unit. The pain meds didn’t really help.
