I’m 17 days out & feel the same way! I can tell that I have lost weight in my sides but my stomach is all bloated! I’m taking GasX 4 times a day. I also feel constipated most of the time. Started stool softens this week.

I had my surgery May 16th. I lost 11 pounds at my 2 week appointment. I had a RNY to fix my Fundalupacation that had come undone, repair my hiatal hernia that was way worse then he thought. At the 2 week appointment he told me that he didn’t use as much intestine as a regular RNY and my stomach is bigger that a true RNY! Now I’m mad! I go through all of this and I might not loose as much weight! But I’m still determined to get to my goal weigh!

I called It my “farewell to food tour”. There are some that I didn’t get to say goodbye to but that’s life.

If you are 3 weeks out your body is still traumatized from the surgery. Maybe you’re doing too much. Please see a threrapist. Besides working on your body you need to work on your head too. Taking antidepressants doesn’t make your problems go away, they just help you deal with them better. Toodles, Rue

I really wish Kate would have gone through with WLS in This is Us. It would have been wonderful for a TV show to tackle this decease. Of course I realize Chrissy Metz would have to have the surgery in real life. But it would be great to see her change from episode to episode. Toodles, Rue

If you have a tens unit for pain take it!!!! My shoulder pain was unbearable for 2 weeks & that was the only thing that got me through it!

I’m 10 days out from my RNY & I am still having tremendous shoulder pain! I use lidocaine patches during the day. I already take 1200mg neuroton a day. Pulse I am taking 3-4 norco day because for the pain! I see my doctor on Tuesday & then my pain specialist on Wednesday. But has anyone else had the shoulder/nerve pain last so long? I have had 5 abdominal surgeries & the pain has never lasted more then a week! Toodles, Rue

I had to add a Gateraid type drink around days 4-6 because I was feeling the same way. I also have iHydrate app on my phone sent to remind me every 15 min to drink. I just take 2-4 swallows each time to help me get the water in.

Everything is normal except this pain. I’m getting all my protein in, I’m drinking lots of water in between. And I’m definitely ready to move on to the next food stage. I see my surgeon on Tuesday & my pain doc on Wednesday. I’M JUST TIRED OF THIS PAIN. It is very sharp. I already have chronic pain because my back is fussed from T2-T12.

After you are taken back to surgery the doc doesn’t come in for after 45 min. The anesthesiology & surgery team are prepping you during this time. The surgery it self takes about an hour depending on what is being done (I had 3 surgeries that each took an hour). You are in recovery for about an other hour & then your family can come in. Depending on how busy the hospital it it can take a few hours until you get to a room! My surgery was at 1:30 & I didn’t get to a room until 1am!

I’m 1 week post op. I have had a low grade headache since I got home. It’s not a migraine & it’s not a sinus headache, it’s just annoyingly there! I think it’s a low blood sugar headache. Before if I had a headache like this I would of had a glass of chocolate milk & it would have gone away. Since I’m on liquids right now making sure I get protein I’m only getting 500-700 calories & I just don’t think that’s enough. I talked with the dietitian & she suggested making my shakes from 2% milk instead of unsweetened almond milk. I need some chocolate, cheese or a Pepsi real bad!

Found my Fundoplication has come undone, my hiatal hernia is worse & my esophagus is L shaped now & that’s why food is getting stuck when I eat! So even though my BMI is 35 I had a medical reason to have a bypass. Once they go in there they saw that 1/2 of my stomach was involved in the hernia!

I am 1 week out since RNY. I have had a horrible headache since I got home! I think it’s because my calorie intake is SO LOW! Any suggestions how I can increase my calories intake while drinking only liquids without drinking a McD’s shake? Between this headache & the pain in my shoulder I am ready to go beg for a shot of Demerol!

Played phone tag with the dr today. I did speak with a dietitian from Cigna today. She recommended I have some strained cream soup. I tasted so good! It seemed to help also! Watered my plants in the back yard, that little bit of activity seemed to help my shoulder feel better too!

Pull that back far forward to enhance the front 😂

I haven’t had coffee in 2 weeks. And I wasn’t a daily drinker and I’m not a soda drinker either. So I find it hard to believe it’s a caffeine withdrawal headache.

I’m scared of not being able to speak for myself too! I was the parent who always gave my phone number to every one of my kids parents Incase something happened. They would say “Your kid knows your number right?” And I would reply “But if she’s hurt bad, she might not be able to tell you!”

I have a hole from where a drain was that was taken out before I left the hospital. I was told to just keep it covered with a bandaid. All of my other

That’s wonderful! How long after surgery were you able to take a bath? I’m a bath person too & can’t wait, but I’m only 3 days post op so I know it will be a while!

Tonight is my last sleep before surgery! So excited I don’t know how I’m gonna sleep! Toodles, Rue
