Hypothyroidism and Gastric Bypass
toodlerue replied to Sabs211's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Being tired is a very typical symptom for anyone with rapid weight loss after a surgery! Our bodies are going through a major change right now! Consult with your surgeon, but my bet Is that he will tell you that is normal. Give yourself some love by not trying to do so much. Your body is still in recovery mode. It will get better & then you will have way more energy then you have had in a long time! -
Call your Surgon!!! Please don’t rely on what someone on the internet tells you! It could be nothing, but it could be something!!! Don’t chance it!

Favorite Fitness Calorie Tracking App???
toodlerue replied to GAjeepGirl's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The thing I don't like about My Fitness Pal is that it takes into account how much exercise you do and adjust your calories for it. To get it to not do that you have to pay $20 a month & that’s not worth it when there are other apps you can use to count just calories. -
I have thrown up twice post RNY. It seams like it wasn’t as much because my stomach is smaller now. I had a different stomach surgery 12 years ago (Fundilipacation) I was told them that I shouldn’t throw up for at least a year because I could rip something. That has always been in the back of my mine after the RNY. I’m almost 2 years out so I’m not as worried now. just be careful if you can.

You will probably be in some type of pain. From the incisions to the gas pain in your shoulder. Yes you get pain meds. Liquid codine, Percocet or Norco. After a few days it can be managed with liquid Tylenol.

Did you go to emergency or at least speak with your surgeon? What’s up?

Go to emergency at the hospital where you had your surgery. It’s better to be safe then sorry!

10 days is pushing it. Your body has been through major surgery. You are barley eating at 10 days. Take it slow and easy & take off as much time as your employer allows.

We took GasX right after. You can take a fiber powder that you mix in water for constipation right now. (I just can’t think of what it’s called right now!) If you think you are really impacted use an enema. You don’t need to lay down on the ground, just use it while sitting on the toilet & hold it in for a few minutes.

Sea sickness and a wicked stitch
toodlerue replied to BrumLee's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Welcome Lee, The pain under your rib could be gas or could be where you were stitched up & it just needs to heal. Some docs have their patients take an antacid for a few months after surgery to help with healing. Ask your doc about that. People think this is taking the easy way out but it’s not, it’s pretty hard. We still have to face our weight demons to keep the weight off! as your weight drops quickly people are going to start asking questions. Have your answer prepared if you don’t want to tell them about the surgery. I person ally think that WLS needs to be talked about more. -

Did your doc give you any anti nausea meds? Give him a call & see what he recommends. -
Feeling so depressed
toodlerue replied to mediocreoblongata's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I’m so sorry. I can Understand how frustrated you are. That was wrong and rude of your nut to cancel your appointment right before your appointment. Is there anyway you can do a video appointment with them? -
I haven’t heard of that happening & it didn’t happen to me.

They say walking helps to get the gas out. The pain in my shoulder lasted 3 weeks! It was horrible!
