  1. I'm really struggling! I'll be 2 years post op in July (too much math). I lost 95 lbs. since surgery and 130 lbs. all time. Since the beginning of this year I've had a lot of issues and have gained 18 lbs. It seemed like it happened overnight. I'm the kind of person who needs serious structure. What BASIC diet/meal plan can I follow going forward? I had RNY Gastric Bypass, and am a pescatarian, but I can substitute seafood for anything. ANY help would be very much appreciated.

Take care and stay safe, all. 💜

  2. Hi! I posted this in the Gastric Bypass forum but I thought I should post it here as well. The surgery type isn't important.

I am a little more than 13 months post-op. Have lost 95 pounds but have stalled for a few months, and have had some bumpy roads getting here (serious double pneumonia for one). I would LOVE a buddy/partner (or buddies/partners - the more the merrier!) to help each other along the way - for support, common sense (i.e. "don't eat that Twinkie!"), all around motivation and friendship.

I'm 56, mom of 2 grown kids, a nana to 1. I'm fun and outgoing and a great friend! (I feel like I'm filling out an ad to get a date ☺️)

If anyone is interested - please let me know! Oh, I have about 50 pounds or so left to lose.

Someone around the Baltimore area would be AWESOME - but via text, Facetime, whatever is great too.

    ❤️

    Hello, yall

Found out today I am also a July sleever. Scheduled for July 24th. My surgeons only concern was my anxiety. Understanding I am on a military base and they can see all your records and meds going back years. So he wrote me a script to take daily. And I will do so. I love love my surgeon. He gives out his cell number and actually answers. Hahaha. I am beyond excited. The count down is on. And no preop diet. Looking for a surgery buddy!!!!

That's my survey date too 😁

Yes I'm ready, I'm eager to move forward with my life. I'm 51 yrs old and the last 8 years have been rough causing me to gain 100 lbs. I want the last half of my life to be different. I want to be healthy, I want to be active, I want to be mobile.

    You?

I'm sorry for whatever you've been struggling with. 8 years is a long time! Honestly, without a lot of stress I've gained about that much in a year (after losing as much just as quickly). I'm 55 and wish I'd done this a long time ago. So many wasted moments just because I wasn't able to do something physically. I totally understand about wanting to be active. I've become a hermit this past year. My mom died in March, and I've just put on more weight. We need to make this work, and get out there and live. :769_heart:

Hey surgery twin!!! I get labs done tomorrow, attend some type of pre-op class on Friday and report to the hospital at 7:30 for RNY surgery. Doing my liquid only diet, 5 days now then cleat diet only on Monday.

Best wishes and good luck to you too.

Hey!! I'm from Phoenix originally. Miss the mountains. Anyway, congrats on the weight you've already lost! Do you feel ready? I am SO ready.

My preop diet isn't going so well :( Surgery in 8 days.. can I shrink my liver and still be good these next 7 days??? Will i be okay?? i am panicking cause Im so scared about not getting my surgery :(

Do you have to have another endoscopy (I assume how they saw the liver) prior to clearance? I would imagine your doctor estimated how much time you would need before surgery. I'm one of few that wasn't told to be on a liquid diet. I need to now because my "last supper" which lasted the past few weeks has me up 10 pounds. :o I'm the same way, though, I worry about everything. I still have to get clearance from the cardiologist and take a stress test the day before surgery. Crazy! Hang in there. :)

I'm July 24th. It seems forever away and I'm starting to panic. I've fought myself in the "I better eat this now while I still can" trap. Need to get my head in the right space over the next few weeks!

PS - Me too about the "eat this now..." which is a terrible, dichotomous view that has plagued me my whole life. I am so ready!!

And I my little flower wish I had come to the decision and sought it sooner. At 72 think of all painful wasted years I spent obese. But I thought it was too late, many people said over 60 you had to die fat. But you don't and I won't, close to your REBIRTHDAY date I too will be having RnY surgery, mine will be at OSU-Wexner Medical Center in Columbus Ohio and my doctor's name is Bradley Needleman MD, the chief of Bariatric Medicine there. When Frustr8 does it, she goes for the Gold! I love forward to sharing my surgery month and possible date with you! Curtsying and big😝Smile!

Good for you! That whole age thing - what the hell? People are living longer and longer. Why should someone's life in their 70s be less valuable or satisfying than someone in their 40s? Or ANY age. I'll be having mine at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD by Dr. Andrew Averbach. He's the big kahuna of bariatrics there. Good for us! Keep in touch!

Mine is July 24th too. I've had the date since mid-June. At first I thought that time would pass so slowly but it really doesn't. I'm actually really glad I had the time to plan things out more thoroughly, buy everything, and not being rushed is making the terror of it all seem less horrible!
