^^^^This a million times is so wise!!!
You have to forgive others (and yourself) for the pain they caused when you were MO. ((hugs)) As a fellow bd-girl I relate and understand!!
You deserve to find someone who loves you to beyond and back. But you won't meet them if you don't risk.
    ((hugs))

I understand that you feel that way, but in the grand scheme of things, does that really matter? Your previous life is past - you are doing what you are doing for your future. There are many people who would not have given you the time of day before, sure. But you are not that person anymore. Why hold on to that?

More and more people are going to start wanting to talk to you and may even want to hang out or even date. This is enviable. Let go of whether or not you think they would have done so before. You are not who you were. The new you is in a better place, healthier, happier, open to new things, and is a wonderful person. (-:

That's good news that your pouch is functioning. Just go back to the basics, start eliminating the trigger foods, take all your vitamins, start walking. Come on here for support, there is a veteran's forum, check it out. Good luck.

This is way too early to be discouraged. You're not experiencing a weight-loss failure, just slower than average healing. It can take an entire month for all the swelling in your abdomen to go down. Just keep working on your fluids and protein and give yourself time. Many people have said - This is a marathon, not a sprint.

Orchids&Dragons reacted to SleeveinIL in Stall is finally broken and I am losing again. Stalls suck but I understand them much
It is. I have dropped quite a few inches and I fit into chairs and seats so much better. I need to take a day off work and go see if I can ride amusement rides at Six Flags! I said I wanted to be small enough to ride with my kids again. Today was exciting as I hit 219. I weight only 3 lbs more than my husband now. And get this...yesterday I ran circuits! I ran a total of 24 min on the treadmill with circuits at the 2 4 and 6 min marks. I actually RAN! I haven't run since high school. Mind you I wasn't breaking any land speed records, but I RAN!

Thank you for your kindness and understanding, O&D.
As for ranting in the wrong section, my post was not planned. I reacted to a trigger. Triggers are curious, fragile things. And spontaneous.
Perhaps I feel things too deeply. It’s important to me to acknowledge and try to empathize with the person displaying emotional discomfort. If I've inadvertently hurt someone, I try to validate their hurt without judging it. I also avoid being defensive since doing so places the focus on myself and does nothing to make the other person feel better.
I follow advances in pain management closely. For a while, I had hoped that a drug called ziconotide (derived from the venom of cone snails) would help me. It’s over 100x more powerful than morphine and it’s non-addictive. The downside is that it can only be administered intrathecally (into the spinal canal). The other downside, for me at least, is the possible side effects: confusion, memory impairment, speech problems, aphasia, and hallucinations. That said, ziconotide-induced side effects are only temporary and reversible and there are no opioid-like withdrawal symptoms.

Same, but I'm close to goal and I have a high cal diet (1000-1200) so I'm expecting this... I'll live, only 9 months out, I still have 9 months to go...

Orchids&Dragons got a reaction from GreenTealael in Protein bars are evil. I've been on the go so much that it's been my go to meals late
Is that how it works? I eat protein bars most mornings. One of the few solid foods I can eat. Are you saying they're really sliders?

Orchids&Dragons reacted to allwet in I wonder if I'll be dissatisfied when I get to goal?
thats a very good question to ask yourself - it is about what you expected to happen when you reached that goal. Did you expect all the things you hated in life to just go away- not likely
or did you just want to feel better and be able to have more choices in your day to day life.
for me WLS was about getting the choice back. Will they all be the right choices, not hardly but they will be my choices to make once again.
