  1. Wait until you're pregnant and complete strangers walk up and rub your belly like you're a statue of Budda!
  2. You sure didn't pick many winners in the family lottery
  3. Not so long as you don't say that this is a magic bullet that will fix all your problems and you'll never have to watch what you eat again.
  4. That wasn't from someone on your medical team, was it?
  5. Sorry it's not amazing, but . . . I confess that I'm getting pretty down because I still can't eat anything but soft, bland foods. I give myself the "we all progress at different speeds" lecture at least once a day, but it bites!
  6. I don't think they can discriminate against fluffy psychopaths! Ok, they might not want to give them access to scalpels, so make sure they're totally out before they get to the operating room!
  7. Mine was also just really a conversation. She inquired as to why I wanted the surgery, what I had attempted in the past, why now? Not bad.
  8. If you're trying to simulate "full", my trick was sugar-free jello. Don't chew it well, just enough to swallow. It seems to hang out in your stomach a while and fill you up.
  9. We're going out tomorrow for my son's college graduation and an advance Mother's Day. He wants barbecue. I'm planning to get a baked potato and think I'll be all right, especially if I can get the "fixins" on the side! I'll bring the leftovers home and one of the boys can finish it up the next day. I still eat so little that it probably won't be obvious that I had any at all.
  10. So glad to hear it! Boredom is a good sign Best of luck with your surgery!
  11. Lookin' great! Congrats on your success thus far!
  12. Fantastic! I'm so happy for you!
  13. I'm celebrating a good evening with my mother-in-law. She flew in from out of state for my son's college graduation tomorrow. She has a long history of being unkind and I was dreading what she would say. She hasn't seen me since before surgery and we didn't tell her about the surgery until my husband picked her up at the airport yesterday. (I only told people I thought would be supportive) I wanted him to tell her in the car to give her some time to process the information. When I got home from work she actually said that I looked great. I was shocked, but very pleased. This may not be the horrible weekend I was dreading!
  14. You look awesome! I admire how much harder you must have to work at watching your intake with all the traveling.
  15. Gotta love it! Congrats on navigating those big, fancy dinners!
  16. YEAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on both scale and non-scale victories!
  17. Great job with the planning! I'm sure your wife was very happy!
  18. They're all just waiting out there for ya!
  19. I doubt she thought that far ahead. I just think her perception of fat people is that they're either stupid or lazy and she assumed that everyone else feels that way, too. Although Mrs. Weasley was awesome and chubby and Harry loved her dearly!
  20. Thanks, Frustr8, but mine doesn't hurt that bad. An ache, almost hot feeling, not sharp pain. I've never had gallbladder issues, but my husband did. I already don't eat any of the foods you mentioned. What is sucralfate?
  21. And what does a person do about gastritis? I'm still on PPIs 2x/day because I only lasted 4 hours when I stopped them
  22. I'm so jealous! My taste hasn't changed, I still LOVE spicy. But it hurts in my stomach, a burning ache. Hope that goes away soon!
