And the devil tempted Eve with an apple . . .

Oh, I'm sure the lesson will be relearned multiple times! On the upside, I have found out I can eat an entire package of raspberries with no ill effects -

Miserable because of the tacos you ate or the one you didn't? -

I was never told that cheese and peanut butter don't count toward protein. Interesting. -

I saw a joke on FB yesterday: If you had to choose between tacos and being skinny - what kind of tacos would you choose? soft or hard shell? -

So if your friends jumped off a bridge would you follow? /Mom mode off/ Yes, yes and yes! This is why I've been going to a therapist all along. I always do well for 6-8 months and then everything goes to hell. I haven't hit that quite yet, but I am slipping. So far the therapist keeps commenting that we really don't have anything to work on but I want her on the hook when I start falling apart again. And I haven't been nearly as strict as you were. -
Your body stores estrogen in your fat cells which gets released as you lose weight. Hence, emotional diva time

I love the protein shots from the BP store, but beware, they are very acidic and may be too much for your stomach right now.

Finding healthy alternatives is definitely the way to go, but you need to pay attention to the type of hunger you're feeding. When it's all focused on one food, it's really a craving (head hunger), not actual hunger. Actual hunger would be satisfied with scrambled eggs or some yogurt. -
I am so happy to hear this - CONGRATS!

While you wait for your flight, brush your teeth. Nothing tastes good mixed with toothpaste. It's worth a try -
Can we please have an icon for "Congratulations!"? When someone reaches a big milestone or goal, a "like" is just inadequate, imo. Thanks!

A few questions + my background
Orchids&Dragons replied to Joewy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Joey! Don't worry about a 1-2 pound fluctuation. Those are completely normal and don't mean that you've done anything wrong. So long as your overall trend is downward, little bumps along the way will happen, especially if you weigh everyday. -

Im exhausted 11 days post-op need advice
Orchids&Dragons replied to kick butt take names's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Everyone heals at different speeds. I'm sorry you're struggling. I was exhausted for several weeks after surgery, too. I hope it gets better soon. I think part of it is the surgery but I think it also takes some bodies longer than others to want to burn stored fat rather than food for energy. I think my body was having a grade-A hissy fit about giving up some of it's stockpile. -
I like it, I think it fits nicely. Another 5-10 lbs and you’ll be tripping over it, lol I agree!
-
That is wonderful! I'm so glad that you can be in those pics and feel like you're contributing rather than detracting from the special moments! I have to admit that part of my interest in losing weight, outside of the obvious health benefits, was so that I could feel "not grotesque" at my kids' weddings. No, that's not how a healthy-minded person should think about themselves, but I did.

Yes, she is. She'd like to be around for quite a bit longer. Like you, she also avoids anything with soybeans, but she does eat other beans. It is very difficult to be vegetarian and avoid soy products. They make up a huge portion of the products available. -

((BIG HUG)) My best friend has the type of breast cancer that is very estrogen sensitive, so even though she's quite thin, she is almost entirely vegetarian since most meat products and dairy have at least some estrogen. When we go out to lunch I research new places for vegetarian food. She will occasionally eat fish, but she doesn't really care for it. Her cancer is in remission and she's working hard to keep it that way.
