15 days post op and can drink 11oz of Protien Shake

That's perfectly fine to drink the shake in 30 minutes. The swelling in your stomach has gone down and allows the liquid to pass right through. However, you now have absolutely no excuse not to get your water in every day! You won't really start feeling restriction until you start eating soft foods That's also when you start being able to feel "full". One tip for the hunger: Sugar-free jello, DON'T CHEW IT WELL! It will be slippery enough to get into your stomach all right, but it will take your stomach a while to break it down, so you feel full for a while. The little ready-to-eat cup is the perfect size! Good luck! p.s. In my area, bariatric support meetings are open to everyone, even if you didn't have surgery at their facility. Maybe you can find one near you?

Anxious - Lonely - No Friends to Support My Journey

I was fortunate and really didn't have co-morbidities prior to surgery, although it was just a matter of time, imho. My knees are definitely happier, though.

    Food Waste Frustrates Me

Maybe you or one of your friends knows someone disabled or elderly who would appreciate some home cooked meals? Or, another example, every Sunday my church brings a home-cooked meal to a local children's hospital for families who have children in the cancer ward since hospital cafeterias are quite expensive and the families are already so stressed.

    When does progress start

You've also got lots of swelling right now. It will take several weeks to be totally gone. I went back to work 8 days post-op and my pants were tighter than the day of surgery! Very disappointing, but not unusual. Otherwise, I hope your recovery is going well!

No, I think her daily total is 25 oz. instead of the 64 oz. that is expected.

    My Mouth is So Dry!

Can you handle sugar-free Popsicles? How about some soothing hot tea? You need to find someway to get your liquids in. Even if you have to put some honey in the tea. The bit of sugar isn't nearly as important as getting your liquids.

They should just go ahead and call this the "trial and error" phase

    Food Waste Frustrates Me

I totally get you! I hate to eat out if I can't go straight home afterwards to put the leftovers in the fridge. I am rational, I understand that leaving food on the plate isn't going to help any starving children in 3rd world countries, but still, the waste! I would almost rather go and pay full price at a buffet and feel free to take my piddly 2 oz serving! I do ask the waitstaff to leave off the rice or potatoes. They try to insist that it's included in the meal and I explain that I just don't want to waste it because I won't eat it. But, I understand you wouldn't want to do that while eating out with clients. At least if I do get my food home all right, I know my ravening hoard will take care of the leftovers. How did you cook it and did you eat more than about 1 oz.?

    Back pain after surgery?

Google kidney stone pain and see if that's where your pain is. Kidney stones are always possible and can be more likely if your fluid intake is low. Good luck and I hope you feel better.

Please tell me I’m not the only one!

The Campbell's YES soups are good, I think I've had the butternut squash, and I also like the tomato carrot bisque. I don't remember who made the butternut squash one that I was talking about, but it was in a carton, like chicken stock. It was just such a nice change from all the sweet stuff. Here it is: It is carried at Target and Walmart. There was also a roasted red pepper soup that I liked.

Please tell me I’m not the only one!

You can also try a variety of herbal teas. I only put maybe 1/3 packet of sweetener in them, so they're not so sweet. If you're on full liquids, you should be able to do soups as well. There's a pretty good butternut squash soup (totally smooth) that is kind of filling and makes your head feel like "yeah, that was a meal." It's in the soup aisle at the grocery store.

Pregnancy - 8 months post op

I lost my first baby as well, ectopic pregnancy. I still grieve sometimes. And I was always a nervous wreck until the doc checked me out on the later pregnancies! Good luck!

Pregnancy - 8 months post op

Congratulations! Sounds like your surgery was successful in making you more fertile. That's awesome. You may be a high-risk pregnancy and I'm sure your doctor will watch your hormones closely, but you should be able to have a healthy baby. Best wishes!
