    Pity Party - WAAAAAAAH!

Thanks, Fluffy! It's good to see you again! I see my PCP in a month and I will discuss this with her. I'll also discuss it next week with the bariatric coordinator at the hospital to determine my best course of action. I am already avoided spicy or acidic foods because they burn on the way down. And I already do several core-strengthening exercises, so that may be some help. Thanks for your concern and support, I always appreciate your advice!

Thanks, Ash. Yes, it's amazing how sleeping through the night will improve your attitude! Even if one is married to a werewolf!

    Measuring food and weighing

One thing to remember when you enter recipes into a tracker is that many of the ingredients can be left off. Other than salt (if you track sodium), most seasonings can be ignored when entering the recipe since they don't contribute enough calories or nutrients to affect the totals. There usually aren't that many "main" ingredients.

    Measuring food and weighing

You can type the recipe into myfitnesspal and it will break out all the nutrients for you. I just did it with a recipe for overnight oats and it worked great. After you save the recipe, you have to actually enter the meal into your food diary to see the breakdown.

    Sweet Drinks?

I'm a Crystal Light girl, myself! Peach mango green tea or Cherry Pomogranate! Or else, Chai tea (from tea bag) with Vanilla Premier Protein as the "latte" - delish!

    Question for sleevers

Man, do you think you could anything else to your plate??? You're Wonder Woman! The poster who usually talks about 1000-1200 calorie diets is @Creekimp13 You might try reaching out to her. There are probably others, but she's the one who comes to mind. I'm still on soups and yogurts, but have a hard time getting to 1000 calories, including at least one shake or protein water a day. I'm looking forward to being able to get all my protein (my requirement if >75g) from normal foods, but that's going to be a while yet. Good luck with all your challenges!

Done! Also praying that they can fix you up with just a couple of procedures!

    Pity Party - WAAAAAAAH!

No, there wasn't one. I was asked if I had reflux or acid problems, but I said no. I had always had the proverbial cast-iron stomach. Absolutely nothing bothered it. My mom used to joke that I could drink hydrochloric acid and it wouldn't bother me And, really, now that I'm back to soups and yogurts (can't really handle even mushy foods) I'm feeling so much better. I'm sleeping, I've started to get more energy, etc. I think I was really making myself much worse trying to eat solids. So for right now, I'm good with how it's going. Pity-party is officially over

Let me tell ya, it would be a lot easier to walk up the hill to the Parthenon now than it was 11 years ago!

    Tasty Purée recipes?

I really enjoyed this cauliflower soup recipe. I just blended it with an immersion blender after it was cooked. https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/cauliflower-soup/?_cmp=RecipeOfTheDay&_ebid=RecipeOfTheDay12/27/2016&_mid=132142&ehid=1A67E103D485D733A8C14B6BD24567E3C0748DEF&pmcode=IT7JJZ101
  13. Can someone please explain to me the difference between 6 small meals and grazing all day? I feel like I'm setting myself up for failure if I keep doing what I'm doing now, once I can eat more. Thanks!

Drinking anything 2 months post op

Wow, that's weird that you can get food down but not fluids. I hope someone else has a useful suggestion. I'm stumped. I think I'd definitely call the dr's office in the morning.

    HELP - Grazing all day

You'd be surprised how much fluids we actually need vs what's recommended. Try working your way back up to your normal, and hot fluids tends to be more satisfying than cold IMHO Hot tea for me!

    HELP - Grazing all day

I drink over 100oz./day, so I don't think that's a problem. This is less than I drank pre-surgery, but still should be plenty. I think I may have been a camel in a past life

    HELP - Grazing all day

This is exactly what has me terrified. Right now, I have to eat this often to get all the protein in. But I feel like I'm setting myself up for disaster by eating every couple of hours. Last night I had a shake at 8:30 because I was still 28g short! But I'm really worried about eating out of boredom/frustration when I get to the point that I can. So far, I don't think I've had too much head hunger because it hasn't been too hard to avoid all the food being cooked in my house. But, even then, is it because there's no head hunger or because I'll be miserable for hours if I take a bit of your steak fajitas? I mean, yeah, it does smell really good and I did snag a cooked slice of mushroom. Sadly, with 4 grown men in the house, my kitchen is a bariatric mine field!

    HELP - Grazing all day

Since most of my meals count toward my fluid total, this hasn't been a problem for me. I've never been a meal "time" kind of person. I eat when I'm hungry, or at least not still full. I drink protein water on my way to work because otherwise, I probably wouldn't get any protein in until 10 or so.

    HELP - Grazing all day

I know what you mean. I drink 20g of protein water on my way to work, especially now that the doc upped my minimum to 75g. I so wish I could do the fresh veggies for snacks, but I've settled for cooked ones although those don't help with the protein. I've made myself a little tub to bring protein powder to work. I usually only add it in to things at home, but it will be easier to get my protein if I add it to my yogurts and soup. I do enjoy my high-pro puddings, though. Thanks! Then I guess in your book, I'm good. I track the calories and keep a complete log. 1035 has been my post-surgery high and that involved broccoli-cheese soup from Panera! Otherwise I'm normally around 800 or so. Mixing in extra protein powder at work may add another 100 or so. Thanks!

    HELP - Grazing all day

Thanks, I guess since several of my meals (3-4) each day still fall in the liquid category, I don't tend to "formalize" them. Maybe that would make me feel more in control. I appreciate your input!
  24. Sadly, not one mention of seeing a therapist/counselor throughout her entire journey. They might have saved her a lot of heartache.
  25. Man, did that one hit home! If I kept a journal, I'd think he read it.
