Had surgery 10/2016 for revision lap band. I totally had a NSV when I realized I could get up off the floor so easy and chase after my grandson, didn’t have to roll around and use furniture to try and get up and I am 60 years young

I had my sleeve on 10/2716 and have not regretted anything. I did it to be healthy no skinny. I have lost 56 lbs and very happy with my weight. I was a conversion from band to sleeve so weight loss different. I was not one to want to be in a bikini just wanted to be able to be healthy which I am. Best decision I have ever made.

5’2 highest weight 216. Had reversal from lap band to sleeve in Sept 2016. I am down to 150 and happy. My Dr told me I would lose slower due to having prior lap band. I have a little bit of extra skin but not enough for me to do anything surgically. I am also 60. I walked everyday about 8-10 miles but now live in Okinawa too hot to walk so I have taken up Zumba. It’s a good exercise for me. I would love to get to 140.

The surgery was originally scheduled for 13th. Then I called and told the surgeon office everything that happened with me cheating.
He rescheduled to the 20th. Yes that surgery happened. Everything has been going as expected.
I’m happy to say no head hunger or cravings yet. I’m not ever hungry or over full. I’m sitting currently in a happy medium.
    ———-
now as I go back and read some of the comments on this old thread. I’m surprised at some of the things people said.
For example “a self binger who can’t control yourself “. That one surprised me the most. I have never been a binge eater, I’m fat because I eat to much and don’t move enough and for a host of other reasons. At no point do I go binge on massive amounts of food. Yes my portions were big arnt yours before the surgery? The pre op diet is brutal trying to do it on a normal size stomach and with all the head hunger and real hunger going on.
So the fact I cheated was not surprising. The fact I had a hard couple days getting back on track not surprisingly. But I did get back on track I did end up losing 28lbs before surgery day.
And I did make it to the other side and surprise I’m still doing good on my post op diet. I’m sticking to it like glue.
So just because people have a hard awful time on the full liquid diet don’t mean they can’t do good post op or make it.

18 months out and feel so good. I retired in September 2017 so I take care of my grandson. My daughter and husband got orders to Japan so we moved here. I was walking about 8-10 miles a day which I could barely walk 1 mile before. Now its too hot so doing Zumba daily. Still head for the plus sizes when I go shopping, feels so good that I can buy a medium. I did the surgery not to get skinny but to get healthy which I am now. I now eat lots of fresh veggies and fresh fish. Lovin life so much now! So glad I did it.

Yeah by no means is this easy at all it is drastically changing your relationship with food and that I know is hard for a lot of folks most people's family's use food to Celebrate like everything so it can take a toll emotionally getting the separation between food and family time. Also yeah spouses treat you different when you lose a significant amount of weight this is hard on everyone so keep strong guys people be ignorant

This is why I only tell people on a need to know basis. My mom and sisters know. My mom isn't very happy about it but keeps her comments to herself. After talking to my sisters, they're very encouraging and happy for me. I've always been bigger and even when I lose weight, I gain it right back and they know this.
