  1. I would die. LOL. I am literally the crabbiest person ever if I am awake at 11. I'm kind of like a lay down at 8:30 and read, passed out by 9:30 kind of gal. In fairness, my alarm goes off at 5am. But still. Love me some sleep. Although on the weekends when I'm feeling rebellious, I'll stay awake until 11 or maybe 12. #LivinOnTheEdge

    Lost weight on vacation

Congrats!! I have a vacation coming up (pre-surg though) that I am praying won't be a big gain for me. That is an excellent achievement though, and wow your are done 50lbs in 3 months, that's amazing!
  3. Hi everyone! Post surgery, I will be on a liquid diet for approximately 10 days. I don't want to have just protein shakes, so wanted to inquire about how you guys made high protein broths. I've tested a great homemade bone broth (using chunks of been bones as my dad is a meat cutter), but don't want to eat that all the time everyday. I found another recipe that calls for TrueNutrition Beff Isolate Protein, and Egg White Protein. Has anyone used that brand before? What about those specific types of protein powder? I've only used Whey products to date. Additionally, anyone have any recipes to share? I've tried the boxed versions they sell and they were not for me.
  4. 1/2 premier protein+decaf coffee 2x a day makes me happy I can live with with drinking 1 whole a day, but don’t want to do more than that if I don’t half to
  5. Does it have to be like a premier protein shake? Or can you fancy up your shake? I make a delicious shake in the am using fat free greek yogurt, Unsweetened almond milk, and vanilla cupcake protein powder with mixed in frozen blueberries... throw it in my ninja and make a yummy smoothie. Packs a great amount of protein and other nutrients and I love it. My kids love it.
  6. LOL Yes! I live in MA and grew up in the Boston area. I keep saying I'm going to move because screw winter, but this is home.
  7. LOL... Well I would own up to my intense addiction to coffee. I'm still having jealousy issues of my coworkers enjoying their fully caffeinated afternoon coffee while I sip my decaf (which I used to scoff at, because whats the point of decaf?). But food? Meh. Don't get me wrong, I love to cook. Making homemade pasta was one of my favorite things to do with my kids. With the whole "Gluten sensitivity" I've got going on I've had to switch things up a bit. But when I'm emotional, or stressed, or upset... I make myself a cup of coffee. And if I'm feeling really peeved, I make myself a fancy coffee.

    Near death experience

Similar to the other two posters, I had one at a previous time during my last pregnancy. I ended up speaking to a therapist about it since that pregnancy was so rough, I almost lost my daughter twice, and both of us at one point. I found it difficult to let go of the anger. Not necessarily anger directed at anyone, but the situation itself. That I had to go through it, that to this day women suffering with HG go unnoticed. Even if it's just here, its good and healthy to speak about it. Will you share with us what thought regarding it is weighing on you?
  9. Hi! I am very interested in this! I hate narcotic medication, it often makes me really lethargic and wicked weird. So you mentioned Toradol doesn't have that affect?
  10. Not sure if I would necessarily agree with this? A large majority of my weight came one because of medical reasons (sever HG in pregnancy resulting in a post pregnancy rapid gain). I am not an emotional eater, nor do I have certain foods that I binge on. My issue is I don't have a metabolism, stemming from the HG. You have to vigoriously PRY the weight from my body because it does not want to lose! And even then, I lose weight incredibly slowly. The other issue, which I will admit is totally on me is that I tend to not make eating multiple meals a priority. I could go the entire day with nothing but an obscene amount of coffee and a banana, then going home and eat a larger dinner. So not sure I'd call that an eating disorder? I have since changed my ways and feel GREAT... annnd have lost next to nothing LOL.

Am I On Track With my Weight Loss?

I have a feeling I’ll be a lot like you fluffy in the aspect of losing slowly. My body does NOT like to lose weight.
  14. I go tomorrow to find out (hopefully) and am already losing my mind with excitement. I’m probably the most impatient person ever LOL.

    Craving a sandwich/wrap

I make my chicken/turkey salad with Greek yogurt instead of mayo now (not as creamy, but still good!) with chopped celery and dried cranberries. Yumm
  16. Right?!? My first nutritionist wanted me to hit 135... I was traumatized! I’d look like the living dead... even at my healthiest, I was never in the 130 range. My first goal weight is 175.

Am I On Track With my Weight Loss?

You never fail to make me laugh... 🤣
  19. I felt the same way. RNY is great for people who have certain health concerns, but for me it felt too complex, too scary. The sleeve felt simpler, and came with slightly less long term risks. I know that RNY typically has faster weight loss, but my nutritionist said the balance out around the second year.
  20. Hello! I am in MA too, but going through Mount Auburn in Waltham. Did you call your insurance and find out what their stipulations were?
  21. I meet with the surgeon on Thursday. Sooo hoping to get the sign off and date. Anyone else on their final steps?
  22. I am having the sleeve done. I also don’t need to do the puréed stage. I have 10 days post op liquids, then straight to stage 3 soft foods. I meet with the surgeon on Thursday to hopefully get my sign off and then schedule my date
