    Pureed food recipes?

    Sorry meant pre-op*
  4. I could be wrong, but I don't think you have to worry. If it shows ulcers, you'll go on medication prior to surgery. If it shows hernia, surgeon will take care of that in op. If it does show Barret's Esophogus (which is mainly what they are checking for) then you will start medication prior to surgery.

    Pureed food recipes?

I hope I am not overstepping as I am still post-op, but I’ve experimented with recipes so I have an Arsenal of options after I do receive my surg. I’ve successfully been able to “hide” the isopure unflavored protein powder. I don’t always add a full scoop though. Sometimes just half so it doesn’t overpower. I purchased a mini-crockpot to make smaller meals (I’m wicked obnoxious about eating leftovers) and slowly cook chili or thicker soups at a low temp to avoid protein clumping.
  6. I meet with her next Thursday! I am similarly hoping to get a date right after [emoji4]. I am very excited! What’s your pre-op regimen look like?
  7. It absolutely is! I used to run, and was very athletic. Now it’s painful to run, and not just on the knees! they don’t make good enough sports bras to handle the movement as I’m sure many women on here will agree to! My goal: run my old exercise route around the lake... about 4miles. I used to love it, and I don’t want to sacrifice the things I love ever again
  8. This is so amazing to hear! Pictures are great and all, but seeing how happy it’s made YOU it’s what makes it truly golden. Your change in stats is positive life altering!!
  9. Sticking cameras in ANY opening sounds horrendous... I sooooo hope they waive it for me [emoji37]
  10. Would be nice to have a surgery buddy! I hope my surgeon tells me next week

    New to site

Congrats on making the first step! I’m in pre-op stage and already I feel the change my decision has made. I have hope, I’m excited for the future, and for the first time I am making myself a priority. There is so much info on this site, including others who are in similar stat categories. Good luck on starting your process!

    Surgery delay

Hi! I am also a Bostonian, though I am going through Mt. Auburn. I hope they can get you in soon! That’s terrible that it got canceled! At least most of the snow is gone and we BETTER not get anymore. I’m officially over winter!

    Pre- test

Pre-tests are performed before most surgeries usually to make sure your health is where it needs to be. I.E. make sure your not getting sick. They usually do blood work or other sorts of tests to rule out any last minute illnesses. You should be fine!
  14. Did they give you Zofran for nausea post surgery? Because that stuff constipates more than ANYTHING. Hate that stuff. But I suppose its better than puking? Maybe? But grats on being off liquid
  15. This. I do this too. I wish you the BEST of luck. I know with my weight, it fluctuates SO heavily because my body looooves to retain water, so maybe it's that? I know my weight can change up to 6lbs from morning to afternoon because of water weight (it's super effing annoying!)

    Progress Pic

You look fantastic... but I'll be honest and admit that I first noticed the hair and was super envious LOL. I wish I could grow my hair out! You are beautiful!
  17. Oh! Well WELCOME! You've had such amazing success, I wouldn't say no to any advice you may wish to share!
  18. That's fantastic! I am still pre-op and waiting (my least favorite thing) but I meet with the surgeon next week and hopefully I'll get my date. Here's to hoping you continue doing great! Looking forward to witnessing you transformation. Annnd to hoping your "no pain" is contagious via forum post? Can that be a thing? Please? LOL
  19. Damn! You are on fire! Your account said Pre-Op so I assumed you were beginning too!
  20. Same to you! How far along in the process are you?
  21. Seems that no two places are the same. A few others I've talked to all mentioned having to do the barium swallow, but that doesn't appear to be a requirement at Mount Auburn. If I do need it, hopefully I can get it asap so it won't push the surgery back too far. But its better to be safe than sorry!
  22. Congratulations!!!! I am very happy for you, and wish you a quick and speedy recovery!
  23. Fantastic job! The other posters are 100% right, you look like a completely different person. Amazing visual results aside, how do you feel?
  24. LOL scales are evil, most definitely!
  25. A bemused smirk is still better than nothing! I hate how I can lose like 25lbs, and my clothes won't fit any differently.
