    My gastric sleeve journey

You made a wonderful decision, and I am so very happy for you! A video of yours was linked here recently, and I was glad to have seen it. You are doing you, and that’s the best thing you can do. I wish you all the best, and I wish you a healthy new life!

Busting it out at the Gym!

I love MyFitnessPal! I use it in conjunction with my fitbit, it works great!
  6. I hear you on the deductibles! Milk that free healthcare as much as possible. Yoga is fantastic. At least, it should be. Not tremendously easy to do when you are larger (despite what those "Plus Size Yoga!" books claim. I want to pursue that after surgery, it's supposed to be great for your mind and body. I also plan to get a personal trainer, dependent upon whether I can find one that doesn't charge a small fortune. I don't think I will need them too long, just a few months to tell me how to do things, which exercises to focus certain areas etc. I haven't seriously worked out in over a decade, and I highly doubt the exercises I did then as an athlete would be the best idea now. I also have a nice expensive elliptical I hope to actually be able to use. I purchased it at my highest weight, then swiftly realized that if I used it for me than 10/15 minutes my knee would swell to the point I couldn't walk. Yeah... my knees haven't taken this whole being 280+lbs thing very well. The thing that I am looking forward to exercise wise is to be able to go for a run. I used to love it. Hopefully, I'll get back to doing morning runs every day.
  7. So ready for it! So what are you ongoing plans? Do you plan to get a trainer or introduce new exercise routines? Do you feel like you have more energy now that you are 2 weeks out? And you mentioned you went back to work this week, right? How are you feeling?

    Any MAY sleevers???

    Welcome! [emoji4]
  9. May 14th, I can’t wait!
  10. I agree with the other posters. You have come so far, and achieved wonderful results. 75lbs is such a huge, wonderful achievement you should take a moment and let that sink in. We are our own hardest critiques. If we do something great, it never seems as big of a deal than it would be if someone we loved achieved something similar, you know? So when she does arrive, bask in her joy and steal a little of it for yourself. Let her excitement and love kick that voice inside your head saying "it's not that much," or "I'm still fat" to the curb!
  11. Noted! I am soooo hoping my tastes don't change too drastically after surgery. I have a variety of protein shakes I can drink, but my absolute favorite is 1/2 premier protein (either chocolate or caramel) added with 1 cup of Decaf coffee. Hopefully I can still tolerate it post surgery.
  12. You look fantastic! I wish you all the best!
  13. Awesome awesome awesome for you! 60lbs down is AMAZING and 20lbs in 2weeks? I am so very excited for you. I am glad your recovery has been smooth. What would you say contributed to that?

  17. Thank you Fluffy! I have a vacation next week, and a very busy next few weeks so I think it will fly by!
  18. Surgery is now 5/14, but that's fine by me
  19. Hey there! This community is AMAZING! They are a wealth of knowledge, incredibly welcoming and supportive. I too came here because I wanted the support of like minded individuals, people who are going through what I am going through. I am 1 month away from having my surgery, and I don't think I'd have survived all the waiting involved in this process! So WELCOME and hope you find everything you are looking for!
  20. It's a blessing and a curse! I was in 6th grade with a small c (and not overweight in the slightest). Even at my thinnest and healthiest, I was a 34C/D. It kills my back. And I couldn't wear any of the cute shirts without looking like it was a club night. Even Turtlenecks had a habit of looking obscene LOL.
  21. Be very careful with GwynnieBee, I’ve heard major major horror stories about their policies and service.
  22. Thanks everyone! I think they can be pretty expensive, so I don't think I will buy entire outfits. But I am thinking 1 pair of jeans, and 1 pair of simple black work slacks that for the next few sizes. Shirt are easier because I've always worn blouses that are more flowy than fitted and they should last me a few sizes I think. Besides, my weight loss has never historically hit my breast area until the end, so the girls will keep the shirt filled out I think... However the wrap dress is a great idea! They are not cheap, but they could be a good investment!
  23. Yes, I was of the same mindset. But now that I've made the switch I can deal.
  24. Congratulations on your weightloss! I wish you the BEST on surgery day
  25. My nutritionist said the same, if you do blend, make them the night before and let them settle.
