    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

@sneezergirl FYI, this thread was from people last March in 2018, so I imagine John had his procedure a year ago. But congrats on your upcoming surgery and the beginning of your new life. I wish you all the luck in the world!

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

Hello all! We are approaching our one year surgiversary. How is everybody doing? I’m down 140 lbs and have about 40 lbs to go til I hit my doctor’s goal. My one year post op will be March 14 and I’m excited to see the official weigh in. To help with the last bit of weight I’m starting a plan with a weight loss doctor. She’s not a surgeon, but can help with nutrition and monitoring vitals (blood pressure, vitamin deficiencies, heart health, etc.). I last saw my surgeon at 6 months and will now be going in only for annual visits. I need a little bit more accountability on a monthly basis, so I think this will be a great way to help me finish and make sure I’m healthy as well. Is anybody already at goal?

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

Hey everybody! I haven’t checked here since I had surgery 3/14. I’m down 71 lbs post-op. My hair is thinning a lot now too. I’ve always had thick hair so shedding happens, but it’s been bad the last month. I upped my biotin to 15,000 mg (15 g) a day and the hair is at least not coming out in clumps anymore. It seems hair loss is pretty inevitable for bariatric patients. The skin under my stomach I have to be careful stays dry, but I had that problem before surgery too. The stomach is a lot smaller though now! Yay! I’ve started swimming the last month for exercise. Yes, I actually bought a swimsuit and wear it in public. I am so proud of my weight loss that I don’t even care what people think anymore. In fact, next week, Hubby and I are going to a waterpark! I checked on weight restrictions and everything is ok. This is the first time I’ve gone since high school (I’m 36). Anybody else have some non scale victories (nsv) to celebrate?

Omg! I am so sensitive to smells now. I’ve always been a little sensitive, but cooked foods literally make me nauseated now.🤢

Not itchy yet. I didn’t have a BM until today (post op day 3). Very small. I’m not weighing myself until I go to my post op appointment in 2 weeks. Hopefully I’ll see a loss. I do see a loss physically with the help of the elastic belt! 🤪

I had some wraps on my legs that felt like blood pressure cuffs that went on and off all day/night. However those were operated by the bed, so I took them off when I walked and they stayed at the hospital. The belt I just googled and it’s also sometimes called an abdominal binder. It’s the same thing women wear after a cesarean section.

It’s a giant elastic band that Velcro closes. It covers your torso. Mine was on me post op when I woke up. I’m supposed to wear this for 6 weeks.

I’m doing well. I just came home yesterday afternoon. Have you been using your belt? That has helped me a lot!

I didn’t tell anyone either. I was going to, but I don’t want them to discount the work I’m doing to lose the weight. This isn’t the easy way out. More like a tool to aid in your success. We can do this!

The gas pain has been bad. That and the nausea have really put a damper on my recovery. Walking helps a lot! The broth and gelatin cups at the hospital were icky, so I only had apple juice and water. I’m having my first protein shake post op right now. Weirdest feeling so far was when I was eating a pudding cup and could only make it about halfway down. Feeling your stomach full on so little is a very odd sensation when you are used to eating a full plate to feel full. Eating a pudding cup before wouldn’t have even made a dent in my appetite before. I did experience the post op regret that others have mentioned. Still feeling it a bit since it’s so hard to move around. Once I can use my abs without pain, I’ll be in a better mood. Overall, things went according to plan. My doctor and nurses were excellent and I’d definitely recommend them. 10 days until I can have soft foods! @charismatic@apple203

They are clear fruity waters that have large amounts of protein in them.

Hey! I survived. The pain in my abdomen was bad for the first walks, but now I have narcotic pain relievers and I feel better. Walked a round this morning with no pain meds! Hooray! I wonder if they’ll release me early How are you, @charismatic ?
