  1. Thanks! I really hope so. My dietician gave me a good talking to and reminded me of a few tips that I had forgotten. I’m going to go one day at a time and stick to my structured eating plan. Hopefully this will get me back on track. I think I’m also going to stop weighing myself to free me from the pressure of seeing the blips in weight which I find soul destroying. I think a lot of my eating is head hunger rather than real hunger, so I’m also trying to be a bit more aware of how I actually feel before I start eating. Let’s see how long I can keep it up! x
  2. Hi, I’m going to see my nutritionist and my surgeon for my six week check tomorrow so I’ll have a good chat with them and perhaps they can get me back on track! Thanks for your thoughts x
  3. I had mini gastric bypass in April 2018. I did well during my pre-op diet and in the first 2 weeks, I lost lots of weight. I’m now 6 weeks out, no weight loss since week 2 and putting weight on now. It’s all going wrong! I thought the weight would just fall off, but it doesn’t. I’m struggling to see what I have achieved by having the surgery!
  4. 2 weeks and 3 days post surgery and exactly the same. Trying to transition from liquids to purée but I can’t eat and drink enough. The weather is warm so I’m worried about dehydration, but I’m hardly eating as I feel like I’m drowning in water. I tried some scrambled egg and baked beans yesterday and felt so over full after wards I had to lay down, and yet it was probably not much more than a tablespoon in total. At the moment I am wondering if I have made a terrible mistake and should not have had the surgery. I have zero energy am getting no where near my protein target and it’s making me really miserable. Don’t know what to do.

    Vomiting

My dietician emailed me back and said it was likely the cheese being too fatty, I have to delay moving to the purée stage until my stomach is feeling a bit more settled. Lesson learned I guess not to run before you can walk. I should have waited until my two weeks of liquids was done (Thursday) before trying some mash and cheese, it tasted so lovely at the time! I have to say though I have never had such pain following being sick. My GP called me also and said stick to fluids for the rest of the day and rest. Not heard a thing from the hospital whose nurse is supposed to be ringing me back, which is a bit rubbish really given I paid to have my GB done privately.

Thanks. The hospital won’t answer the phone. I’ve requested a telephone appointment with my GP so hopefully they’ll ring soon. Hurts so much now I’ve been sick x

    Vomiting

Hi, I am 14 days post surgery, I had my first try at mashed potato and cheese for lunch yesterday. I could only manage a yogurt for tea as I was so full. Today I have a really bad stomach and have been sick about 8 time. My throat and esophagus is burning. I am not sure when I should panic and what I should do. I had my surgery done privately and so am not sure who to call for advice. Thanks for any thoughts you have. K
  8. 5 days post op and mine was 180cms apparently!

    April 5th

RNY on 5th April, so close, but still feels so far away. Am suffering from bad head hunger at the moment and trying really hard to stick to my diet but it’s getting harder each day. Am beginning to panic that I’ll have the head hunger after the surgery which is going to be a real problem. I hope Thursday comes around quickly!
  13. Day 12 of 21 on liver shrinkage diet. Starting to crave carbs now. This is getting harder every day. Having bypass on April 5th.
