  1. Started at 343 in February 2018 when I first saw the surgeon and nutritionist. I weighed 283 the day of surgery 9/17/18 and today I am 228. You're all doing great and we've got this! Being less than 30 lbs until I'm in the 100s is craaaazy to me. Can't wait!
  2. Good luck! You got this! It does get easier each day.
  3. I had a second scope done on Friday to make sure ulcers have healed that showed on my first scope. Luckily, they did and the surgeon's office called me at the end of the day Friday to let me know the surgeon OK'd the scope results AND the insurance approval came back so I am scheduled for 9/18!
  4. Also, requested everyone!
  5. Mine is natahlee_anne
  6. No longer scheduled for August 20th The surgeon decided last week he wants me to have another scope to see if my ulcers are healed and there weren't any appointments available before the 20th. So, I have a scope on 8/31 and new surgery date is 9/10. Ugh so frustrating.
  7. Looks like I'll have to start a September surgery buddies board if one isn't already started. Last week, the surgeon decided he wants me to have another scope to see if my ulcers have healed and there are no dates for a scope before 8/20 (my original surgery date.) So, now I have a scope on 8/31 and surgery 9/10 if all goes well with the scope Good luck to everyone having or who has already had surgery this month!
  8. My date is August 20th. I start my pre op liquid diet on 8/6. I'm nervous! But excited too of course! Since February I've lost 45 lbs so I'm hoping the liquid diet pushes me over the 50 lb mark at least.
  9. This sounds great, I would love to do this!
  10. Just went through and sent requests -- I think I got everyone
  11. Maybe start off with light hand weights and try some seated exercises? There's some good examples and youtube videos out there of exercises you can do and of course walk what you can. I'm sure your stamina will increase and pain will decrease as you lose weight.
  12. I do! I think you can add by email? Mine is nbedillion07@gmail.com
  13. Hi everyone! I started the process in February and my SW was 343. I am down to 314. My surgery is scheduled for August 20th. I have all my pre op testing done except one more blood draw and 3 more visits with the nutritionist.
  14. Congratulations and best of luck! You'll do great!
  15. I have watched a lot of Youtube videos, too and follow weight loss accounts on Instagram. I find them to be really inspiring and have also been thinking about starting my own. What is your youtube channel? I would love to follow your journey, too!
  16. My husband knows (and he's having the surgery a month after I am) and my mom and my sister. That's it for now. I'm in a similar position as you that I'm new to my job. I've been here for 6 months and even though I have very nice coworkers, I'm just not comfortable telling them. My best friend is getting married about two weeks after my tentative surgery date. It's a small wedding so I'm not in it but obviously will be there and I feel like I should tell her so she doesn't wonder why I'm not eating and having a few drinks to celebrate haha. Plus, like your friend, I know she will be supportive
  17. I have a tentative surgery date of 8/20! I started the process in February and go to my second nutritionist appointment tomorrow and have my GI scope done on Friday. I see the nutritionist monthly and also had to see a pulmonologist to rule out sleep apnea, a chest xray, an exercise physiologist, blood work and the psych appointment and all of those are out of the way thank goodness haha. Very excited to get the scope done and then I should have a better idea if anything else is needed and if I can keep my date.
  18. I think I am going to do sleeve. I say "think" because I was very sure that's what I wanted but the more research I do, I am starting to lean towards RNY. I think it might be better for me with the amount of weight I need to lose. My surgeon said it's pretty much up to me since I do not have any underlying health issues (which I'm very grateful for). Are you doing RNY?
  19. I'm so glad it went well! I've started to kind of stress about mine, but I'm sure I'll be fine. Here's to hoping for your date soon! Let us know when you get it
  20. Congrats! The time will go by fast. I started in February and have my tentative surgery date of August 20th. The only thing I have left to do is my endoscopy which is next Friday and my monthly nutritionist visits. Best of luck to you!
