  1. Didn't find too much out at urologist, urine was clear, ultrasound scan of my bladder showed I emptied well so didn't get to actually see Dr, Partner, I still do not feel right.
Now to the good news OSU,called, I meet with Dr Needleman, my surgeon for my presurgical consult Tuesday July 17th, actual date will depend on 3day, 1 week, 2 week liquid pre diet, slim chance there won't be any. Its the Final Countdown! I'm❤ gonna❤ get ❤my ❤surgery!

  2. Tah Dah Tah Dah, tis me! I have news, news of great importance to announce. ON TUESDAY JULY 17 2018 AT 11:15AM EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME , ME,FRUSTR8 the GREAT WILL BE MEETING WITH BRADLEY. NEEDLEMAN MD. This is my presurgical 😷consultation and I AM ENTERING THE FINAL COUNTDOWN! Yippee Skippy Whoop Whoop, I'm gonna get MY❤ SURGERY! No tears, No fears just sheer unbridled JOY. My mantra has changed from RNY in July or I Cry to RnY in July-Baby✈ Just watch ME fly!

  3. And also take her to a Bariatric support group, let her hear success strories from others, can't guarantee someone my age will be there but there will be people from 20 into their50s, a lot of people still do it and succeed at that age. I just was on a thread with a 44,46,53 and 55 year old starting out,and wanting to know what it was really like. The 53 year, old Is It Too Late for Me? and I could say No Mam I'm doing it and I will win this battle. It is among the safest of major surgeries and will make such a positive change for you and for her also. Yes I am a cheerleader but I am cheering for the RIGHT team!😛

  4. I agree, show her this forum. If she says it is only for a select few, show her my,postings. I am atypical- I am 72, a widow, 2 of my 3 children still living, having a RnY, on here I would say it's 50%sleeve, 49%RnY and the remaining Omega loop(single anastomosis) lap band and ESG. So I'm not quite average, I have tried almost every diet known to man and womankind, some pretty funky and weird. My late MIL believed in the Grapefruit diet and eating standing up. Didn't do a whole lot of good, she was 5ft2in and built like a grape. If I lost any weight,o could not keep it off. Only sure fire one for me was pregnancy and you can't always stay that way. Lost 22 lb with a 9 lb child, but it returned to,me like a bad memory. And after menopause it kept gradually going up although my appetite if anything got smaller. My high weight was 366 last October, I have lost 35 lbs but with the metabolism of a slug on antidepressants it hasn't been easy. But I have strawberry blonde/red gold hair still natural, stand 5ft8in now, was 6 ft tall in my prime but your spine condenses down . I am commuted to succeed at this, even if it is an uphill battle, much of society counts us out but we still have a lot to give and I intend to live, live thinner and healthier, and give to others until I die. See I still believe the best is yet to be!😛👍😛

  5. Yes and no, some smells like partially digested food , you can still tell what you ate, some of sulfur, and some, and we Bypassers get blamed for this, justly or unjustly, like a sku,k climbed up your colon and then died a slow death, by inches. Nobody has any, that smells like rose petals and sunshine. And the "hang time" on some varieties is prolonged. That is probably what most complain about.

  6. Hi,Jacie1205, I hopefully am nearing the end of my journey, should have my RnY yet this month. If you gave any questions you have only to ask. I will be having my surgery at OSU Wexner. Medical Center in Columbus Ohio. I am 72, so yes easily old enough to be,your mother, but still in it to win it. I have 2 children living, a daughter whom I call RD short for Rotten Daughter, let's see this month is JULY, her WA is this month, maybe I'll hear from her, if not her husband Melvin has a birthday on the 22nd think I'll call her house then. She lives less than a couple miles from me, this estrangement. is her idea. Sure I'd love to her more but I don't want to have to persue her to talk. I did call her to tell her I was having surgery, she immediately turned the conversation to herself, when I finally could get a word in edgewise, I said " Did you hear me say I'm having Major Surgery in Columbus? Her answer Whatever. So also she has her husband, her 2 daughters and Facebook , that's all she wants in life. The older one Naomi has just finished getting a divorce from, her husband and I think n is back, living at home. I wasn't supposed to mention to her because it would make her sad, surprise,i think she already knew she was getting a divorce. She and her ex had been apart for a year anyway. The younger is a Junior at Ohio State, the last I heard, her major is forensics. When I saw her mother in law,at the grocery , Nancy says Amy is starting to treat RD the same way she has treated me, so what goes around comes around. Am I happy about this? Nope but that's the way the road lies. She knows my phone number had the same one for 20 years, lived the same place for 18 years. I don't drive any longer, I think she still does, although she told me she was losing her sight, she told me one day,she had early, onset demetia, a bad knee although she has had at least one replacement and nobody suffers like she does. Sad isn't it? She will be 50 in January.
Then we have my son, whose name on here is Tomkitten, from the fact my first pen name was okay last and indeed it still, starts my email address. I just had trouble getting,it to work and had to change it to the one above. He is just as supportive as RD. is not. He wants me to have my surgery, gives me pep talks And think,is as close as your daughter,is to you. And their brother, my middle child, became an angel 10 years ago at the age of 31. He had cardiac abnormalities we were not aware of, indeed he too did not. know, and died of a ruptured aorta one cad January evening after being in our local hospital 17 hours. Oh if I told you the story you might not believe it, I lived it and I still can't accept it. He was also just as loving as Tomkitten, indeed he was both of ours best friend, buddy and a wonderful person to know.
I'll,let you, as well as everyone, else, know when,my surgery date is, but in the meantime if you need a friend I am always here.

  7. Welcome Stephanie, spend these months studying, learning and preparing for your surgery. There are many complexities, but following here will teach you what you'll need to know. And as you progress you will find many bari-friends going through these things with you. If you have any questions we can help with, just, ask. it is certain there will be people more than willing to help.😛

  8. And they do sell it at Walmart, at least my,local, one does The Pure Protein waters, maybe Sams Club or costco. Also check Meijer, Target, Kroger, Winn Dixie whatever else, you might, have around, failing that Bariatric Pal Store and last resort Megopolis Amazon. I'd much, rather enrich Alex Brecher's wallet --who,looks out for us here than Amazon, who just lives for profit. But that may just be my viewpoint,on the subject. It is still a country with free choice.

  9. I can't answer for Chell but I can tell you mine. My GERD is much worse right now than the arthritis, ole Art and I have been lifemates since age 25, that's nearly 48 years of his crippling dirty tricks on my joints. NSAIDS and I parted company when they, instead of h. pylori, gave me Hector my,itty bitty gastric ulcer and gastritis. I am already on Dexilant which my gastroenterologist calls the Ferrari of PPI because it runs over $350 per month, praises be I do have insurance. that covers all but $3.60.
Plus the fact you lose faster and to a deeper extent than with a sleeve or band. I don't have ,at 72, time to fiddle aro7nd with maybe it will work and maybe it won't and hope for a future surgery to fix me better. I will cut to the chase, have one surgery🏣 and have it be the Gold Standard at that. My surgeon 😷pioneered laprascopic gastric bypass in this section of Ohio so I think he qualifies as Gold Standard also. All that eludes me at this time is my definate date in Columbus and that should be coming soon. And you are cordially invited to share my joy when. it does occur!😛

  10. Many do,have problems with GERD after a sleeve, that said , there also many that do not. Life can be a crap shoot, you just got to keep trying to throw winners. Not everybody gets sick, ask for an antinausea patch behind your ear. Most swear by it, only, downside is it gives some people blurry vision. I'd rather be in a fog and not puking, if I got the choice. Whim wahs before surgery are common, you wouldn't be human if you didn't have a few. You are going to be fine, sure some have rocky, times but most don't. I can stand the urpers, I get intimidated by," Doctor dismissed me, I dropped by home long enough to drop off my surgery bag and then went to the mall and shipped for 6 hours" honey them girls just ain't right. I will probably look like a cross between roadkill and what the dog didn't eat out of the garbage. I have fair skin, and red hair, stands to reason the surgery will give me dark circles under my eyes. And instead of going to the mall I'll leave walking gingerly holding onto my son's arm and looking like every bit of my age. I usually can pass for 55, I will look like a decomposing zombie instead. But still I will have a big Sh**Eating, grin on my face cause Glory Glory my,pretrials will be all over!👍😛👍

  11. A lot on your shoulders all at once. Well we are a ways away, but talk to us anytime. We understand in a way people who haven't been through it don't. You just got to be super strong for yourself and look out for you. But a Bariatric therapist is a good idea, we all can use some help at times. Never be afraid to ask for help, life can be bewildering.
