    A New Goal

Hey I am even older than you, I'm 72, and also going through this weight loss journey. You can and will handle changes, we have a commitment some of the young dudes and dudettes don't. We are still of the generations that believe once, you give your word you follow through with what you said. You'll find a lot of support here at,Bariatric Pal. All of us are either going through all these stages. or have been through them and give advice freely. As an example a few months back,I was having trouble, with a problem, shared It on here and another Bari-friend had just the answer I needed and i felt so much better for the help. I have, made some good friends here and I hope you will tooπŸ˜›
  3. You have to love a child's thinking. "Too much fruit in the shake Mommy" at least they understand and are trying to help. Almost mothering you in reverse. And the label reading of the 8 year old can only strengthen hervreading skills. Only, bad thing, she may tell everyone at Sharing Time about Mommy and her weight struggles. Hey keep up what you're doing, with that much family support you are going to be a success.πŸ˜›
  4. As we start out on our Weight Loss Journey it is always nice to have someone share the trek. Often,we talk about this or that person being unsupportive. Who is your main support person? Is it your husband, your wife, your mother or father, your significant other, your partner, a good friend or your children. Who do feel has "your back" no matter what? Or is the friends you have made on Bariatric Pal? I'll start with me since I brought the subject up. My main one is my son, he is super supportive, is happy with my weight victories, understands when my weight stalls and I get cranky. I have 2 friends who have gone through WLS and all my new friends on Bariatric Pal who have taught me so much. So okay, who do you have whose help you know you can rely on?
  5. @LCM74 please keep us updated on your journey. I'm wishing you a safe journey, smooth surgery and a fast healing and a future full of only good things.πŸ˜›

    Rescuing T-Shirts from pre-op

@ wigo how is your "Save my t-shirts from Extinction" project going? Did you even find someone to reduce them in size? Might be more work than you want but you could cut the, motigs off and bond them to smaller shirts. If you have a sewing store with fabric or a craft store like Pat Catan here in Ohio they might be able to help.😁

    Dog Lovers

I have a grand-dog chi-pomerian mix what can I say, his mother was a b****! But he is black in color and is a cute little stinker named Bear. Sounds fierce but he's not, he's a cuddle bug. Thought I had a picture on this phone but I guess I don't. If i,for one I'll text it to this phone so I can post it and show you how cute he is!🐺

So Confuseled About the Bariatric Pal Facebook Group

Oh really? I joined Facebook a long time ago, started getting friend requests from some very strange people then had some weird women bending over pictures sent to me, Gosh I'm 72, didn't think I needed, that kind of noise so I removed myself. This was about a year ago hut now I see Bariatric Pal has a Facebook page. Is it worth it for me to dip my toe back into the murky water? 😭
  11. is anybody having this surgery and where is it being preformed in the USA ? Only, place I've heard of it is here and on 1 other Baiatricvwebsite so it must not h e very prevalent.πŸ˜“
  12. @SIPSGzrammy did you see your doctor And how are you doing now? Sounds pretty scary that close to surgery?😱

    5 days post op

Congratulations on that weight loss @ASHLEIGH77. How are you doing with your ESG? Doesn't seem real prevalent in Central Ohio where I live, where did you have your surgery done? Hope your healing goes really smooth, sounds like you've started making, your way towards a goal weight. Have a very good day.πŸ˜›
  14. That is nice of her, I have nobody left here between here and Columbus where my surgery will,be performed. All my gal, pals from when I last lived there in 1981. Probably all died,or moved away. Last one I heard from was downsizing and, moving into a condo, a 1 bedroom, type of condo. πŸ˜“
  15. You must be in California, hope someone from there answers your questions soon😝
  16. Just what I was going to say. The new Beta style app will allow you to do some of the things you are asking about. But they are all sitting waiting for prograss anf, their surgeries to happen. Put your money on a winner--YOU.πŸ˜›
  17. Keep getting your fluids in and keep moving. Doesn't matter whether it's inside or outside but walking is a really good exercise to do.πŸ˜›

    People making decision difficult

Exercise can't do it all, diet can't do it all, I believe you need the surgery to complete the change in your life. And once you have that tool to work with, your goals will be met. It still will take hard work and the strenght to stick it out to the finish, but it is doable if you really try and try and try.πŸ˜›

    Somewhere along the line ...

Are you guys doing any better after several weeks? I'm sure the healing is going to take a while but are you starting to feel more like yourself? Update us if b you can, okay?😝
  24. So how are you doing today now that you are settled back into the familiar srroundings of home? Any pain still lingering? I worry about getting up too fast and getting dizzy, do you have any of that? Are you getting in your fluids okay and have you got much walking in? Update us all on your progress, okay?😁
  25. Desert Girl good luck getting into, the Liquid Diet groove, there are many on here who say it's one of the hardest parts to the whole process. I take that to mean---if you can do this, you can do anything. I always read all the postings about it, figure the more I read the better I'll handle,it when it's my time.πŸΆβ˜•. Maybe next month, that's what I'm hoping for πŸ˜›
