    August bypassers/sleevers

And never fear you'll upset us by any questions you might have. I'm 72, a lot of life wisdom, and I keep on keeping on. In the 2000s I have had many family members die, Mom and MIL. in 2003,most of my aunt's and uncles, although I was an"only" both parents had many siblings, a son suddenly,at 31 in 2008 and,my husband in 2012. Plenty sorrows, still don't understand why some of them died but I'm still going. On September 5th I will have my own surgery, a RnY bypass, why am I over here lurking? There are not too many in my month yet, many of the August. I have been friends with for a long while., almost from the time they Started seeking surgery.

Try "But she's SO pretty in the face!" like the rest of my body was a dirty plastic trash bag! So have told this "Job's Comforter" Isn't it a shame with your adult body you have a petty small mind!"

    Vision issues

Shortly after developing Type II diabetes my late husband had an acute closed angle glaucoma flare without warning. Frightening, he almost lost his eyesight, we thought he had gotten something in his eyes doing yard work, luckily I got him to the opthamologist in time.

@Frmamomzeyez you are one inspirational broad, I hope I do as good, today I start my own prediet, if you had enough tenacity that you stuck to your diet instead of caving in, then I CAN DO IT TOO! Thanks for giving me a backbone transplant!👍😛👍
  8. Hi @Queen Grandma, I am very glad to meet and greet you. And @ kjallen, I remember you from last winter. So happy to see you v back with us. I was one of the people hoping for a February- March surgery, didn't happen. But I do have a definite bonofide date, a better surgeon, an excellent program to be associated with, and at 7AM September 5th At Ohio State University HOSPITAL-WEXNER Medical Center in Columbus Ohio with my surgeon Dr Bradley J Needleman MD I will finally have my RnY bypass surgery. And this little puppy is Happy Happy Happy, that's 5 weeks from today. MNNM ( makes no never mind) when I get up , I'm being a tad lay-abed, I will start my official prediet. I could wait until August 8th with no harm but I'm 72, this may be the "only invitation I get to the prom" . I could have opted for 2, or 3 but upon their recommendation I am going for the longest, they said: Smaller less swollen liver, almost every obese person has NASH, so a thin, healthy, liver makes a happier surgeon Surgery its self will go smoother Surgery will go quicker Surgery will be less painful and easier to heal from. Good practice for post-surgery when I will only,be able to eat small amounts at a time. Am I going to enjoy my prediet? Probably not, this is stucturalized starvation, a Dietary Purgatory. And like the Real Purgatory,it is going to take a LOT OF PRAYER to be set free. But am I still going to do it? Oh Yeah, living sad, obese and in pain is No Life At All. And my surgery could be said to be " Elective" well I elect,to live longer, healthier, and fitter. And I believe this to be the tool that will help ME most. So. I do venture forth, trusting in Tomorrow more than I do today. Just watch, I will become even more WONDERFUL than I am now!
  9. Well it is a little before 7 AM and,the day i vowed I would start my diet. Well to be totally technical, since my surgery date is the 5th of September I COULD WAIT until next week, and still be in compliance, but no, I want,a sleek smooth slender liver, I said I can do this, this is going to make me a better, thinner person. . Maybe I will, start,my,own forum thtead, back to sleep, the day will. start, soon, enough!!!

Check with one of my Buckeye BARI'buds @ LynnV1964, she is planning an ESG instead of a straight VSG but she also is in Southwestern Ohio, somewhere near Cincinnati and is a very nice person. Maybe you all can bond , and if you want a little farther-away friend, I'm up here in Central Ohio, Mount Vernon. as a matter of record, and am planning on an RnY 😷September 5th At OSU in Columbus, and I'm a good listener and talker myself.😛
  22. Try Campbell's Healthy Choice commercially, otherwise my other advice? Check out,the ones from Bariatric Pal Store or maybe Injury, they are crafted with Bariatric patients in mind. I keep putting off buying my Box of Month for Bariatric Pal and the only, one, being punished is ME! When you add up all the varieties of items you receive it IT IS,A GOOD VALUE!
  23. Most surgeons regard Tomato as too acidic. Probably strained cream of chicken , mushroom, celery and maybe broccoli, although the last produces gas in some people. as does cream of asparagus. Good luck, my RnY scheduled September 5th so getting ready to start my own pre-diet. Good luck to YOU, Good luck to ME!😛👣😛

We are all Works in Progress👣, doing the best we can for the best results possible.😛🌻😛

    Motivation and setting goals

My now-and-future criteria. Can I stand up without using chair arms? Can I bend over without feeling I am going,to pass out. Are small children still standing in my shadow to avoid sunburn? When I jump into the metropolitan swimming pool does the water stay in or still spill over the edge? Can other people see the parade without edging around to stand in front of me? Can I even get into a yoga pose? Can I do even 5 minutes,of exercise without taking a break to. sit down.? Does anyone say" Catch how good Frustr8 is looking?" instead of " Can Frustr8,catch her breath?" Is my diastolic at or below my age? Can I see what the scale says without leaning slightly backwards so I can see between my feet? Can I climb those steps without moaning ,groaning or stopping half-way? Am as pleasant as a child or as complaining as an older relative? Am I more fun to be with or more fun to be away from? Am I taking in enough fluid to stay healthy or am I taking in too much that I spend my day in the bathroom? Are the calories I'm taking in healthy ones or just something to fill up space? So you see. my motivations are even more basic than my friend,Cara-Lea although hers are perfect for her. I just want to live more triumphant, and bottom line, I_ Just_ Want_ To _Live!
