Did everyone go through a liquid pre-op diet?
Frustr8 replied to t_dulls's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I have svelte French Vanilla organic protein shakes, not only can you not taste the soy in it, it tastes like homage cooked pudding. The downside? Not 30mg protein like Premier and maybe harder to findπ -
Sounds like a plan to me!πππ

Frustr8 replied to gully90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

Questions for Post Ops who are willing to share
Frustr8 replied to ARCarnes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
if your doctor can document skin breakdown and/or fungal infections and you have taken pictures for further documentation you have a chance. Of course insurance will try to wiggle out,of things, πit's like organizing an earthworm drill team. Very frustrating!π -
And how often do men and women agree anyway?π

May 30th Surgery Buddies? & 2 week liquid diet!
Frustr8 replied to miss_smiles's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So Better Every Day where are you located and where are you having your surgery? I first guessed UK because I've heard of others on milk pre surgery diets, then I thought Australia, New Zealand or Canada, at least a Commonwealth country. Now I'm not sure, I'm πbaffled, which is a new location. Shoot, you might even be in South Africa. So confess, where in this lovelyπ world are you? -
Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!
Frustr8 replied to Ylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And maybe when June dawns you will be good enough to return home and let your life go on.π -
There are a few ateas, 2 are Louisiana and Florida where it may be no more than $8000. but they are few and far between and occasionally the one in Florida ran specials.I want my surgery at a Center of Excellence hospital where they have the best doctors , dedicated bariatric wings or floors and are up to date, on the cutting edge of research etc. Luckily I do have insurance, if you don't you have to self pay or go out of the country. UK people go to Belgium, Estonia, Turkey or Switzerland. US and Canadians go to Mexico, if I were going there the only place would be BariatricPalMX, our founder Alex Brecher, helped found it, surgeon's are as good or better than ones above both borders, Alex trusted them enough to have surgery himself there recently. Otherwise there a few other good alternatives but most fly-by- night conveyer belt, patient and $,in, slip slap, patient out and on his own, no follow-up. I love me a little too much to go through that dog and pony show? How about YOU?

Maggie 26 so sorry to hear of your grandmother's death. I and many of the other Bariatic Pals will be prayingπ for you in the coming days.πͺ

Anyone else allergic to artificial sugar ??
Frustr8 replied to Ernie D's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Trial and error like the poster above, remove from your diet-better put it back in - bingo bad symptoms. Actually not an allergy, more an intolerance but nothing you want to fool around with. And if you are masochistic enough to enjoy the pain you belong on Psychological Pals instead Bariatric Pals. Ho-okay?π -
That's something I'm trying to learn while I'm in the presurg minor leagues before the Big Call up to the Majors. Not easy when you've been a mindless bolted most of your life.π

Ladies, TMI question
Frustr8 replied to moondoggie1983's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG the mental picture I get is squatting like a bullfrog πΈ and groping in there. πYeeouch!!! -
Still on the presurg side of things , when I gave up evil sweets and nasty soda, which realized is truly for the best, do you know what I want? Veggies, have To be cooked because you can't chomp raw ones real great with dentures, but I love steamed broccoli, brussel sprouts, carrots, peas and little pearl onions. Hold a baked or nuked sweet potato in front of my face and I'll follow you anywhere.π

Recently returned to therapy at the gym affiliated with my hospital. Not so much worried about beautiful rippling muscles, just rebuilding a little strength and stamina. And at 72 that's cool enough for me!π΅π

Pre-Operation Holding Pattern
Frustr8 replied to hokeysmoke's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And I have some friends treating me like an overdue pregnant lady. Had 2 in the last week alone"OMG haven't you gone YET?" All I can tell them I'm still waiting for a definite date. Maybe the "Didn't tell, anybody but my husband" people were right after all. I told EVERYBODY trumpeted it out loudly like an enraged elephant, and now it's back-firing on me!π -
Jenn1 is absolutely correct, to amplify it also, if you are on a 1200 or less calorie diet, you are getting enough to keep on living, you're starting to melt off, your fat, which has been your insulation, reason 1. reason 2 you just don't have enough, calories for your inner furnace to put out much heat. You will eventually level out, although you may always be a little more sensitive to temperature changes, you'll be out of the sweatsuits and thermal underwear on high Summer soon. Major surgery is inherently a shock,to the system, sometimes for itself, sometimes for slight blood loss. Another reason to take your bariatric vitamins like they told you to. Gosh I hope my own surgical office has some good suggestions, better than doubling up on my Centrum Silver, some people have said some kinds are yucky-poo.πͺπ
