Nobody seems to have answered you, surely you have some surgery twins out there. I'm a little behind you, today at my appointment,my dietician refined diet expectations. I have to start practicing the habits I'll have to use post-surgery, I'm supposed not forget my snacks so I'm eating 6 meals in total, 3 snacks along,with the 3 meals, assigned a desired caloric intake for each one, told me if I wished to continue my Centrum. Silver I must add iron supplementation or switch to a prenatal one, told me which of the protein shakes my,program prefers, at this point I can use the usual over the counter, don't have to go to Optifast from them. They went ahead and did my presurgical blood labs today so,i should be within a month of surgery. I still of course will have to Cray but probably won't have to do another abdominal ultrasound because they do have the findings. from the cardiologist. I had ones done when they were scanning my abdominal aorta The exercise physiologist gave me exercises to do in conjuction with my walking program to build up a little endurance. Ever challenge is doable and I think. I can,make a success of this. Oh Sojoune I feel so hopeful , warm up the losers bench for me maybe we'll be together before July. CreekImp my dietician wants me eating 60 mg protein also, even tho I'm still pre-surg. My appointments today went very good, none of my challenges are un-doable, although it will be a difficult task, that I expected, but I firmly believe I can and will achieve this.

He had better do some major re-booting because I want him in GOOD😷 shape for your surgery on the 7th!

Hiya Bariatric buddies and Peeps!Just little sweet me checking in. Well I had my appointment at OSU today, yes the self-same one I have babbling about for a whole month. Saw my nurse-practioner Valerie Dietician-Roy, yeah a young good-Looking slender guy. Exercise physiologist-Kelly Didn't get to meet Case Manager Jessica, she was in another conference but will call me tomorrow or Tuesday, because Monday is a holiday. Per Nurse Valerie I have to have Cardiologist and Pulmanologist both fax notes and observations or I have to go through both again. Dr Karve( cardio) did it today after I spoke to them, had to leave message with Dr Hussein (pulmo) medical assistant since he wasn't in today. Once that is filed where it's supposed to be, no more than 3 weeks until surgery. Alas no iron-clad date, I'm betting on June, my son Tomkitten says July, and he tends to be psychic about betting and such things. When his late dad was alive and would take his advice they "cleaned up" at the races frequently. At least I should be done and starting to,lose before my high school class reunion August 11th. I hate to tell you how many years it has been , if you remember how old I keep telling people I am , you can figure it for yourself. 😪 But things are still moving kachug kachug along down my bariatric track toward the finish line. I had hoped to book on a bullet or express train, not one that goes at 3mph and stops for every dog,🐶 pony🐎 or goat🐐 that ventures onto the track.🚝

My EGD,last December when I had it. Moderately severe GERD, no sign yet of Barretts Esophagitis, negative for H Pylori, gastritis and the d3but in my,love of Hector, my teeny,tiny gastric ulcer with mild potential of perferation.

Well well,everybody! it's your favorite Frstr8 reporting in. Left Mount Vernon at 7am, returned home at 1:30pm, so a lot,of fun and games in Columbus. I met with Nurse practitioner, dietician(a cute dude) exercise physiologist and had blood drawn. Then after I got home I called both my cardiologist and pulmonologist to have notes and observations records forwarded to OSU so I don't have to go through another series. Now we come to my EGD, my gastroenterologist did it in December 2017, got pretty pictorial document for me to keep, the bad news ,he shut down his local practice last month. Not sure where he went , perhaps Newark, so how do,i get his notes.etc? I am liable to be,looking at EGD #3 in less than 3 years. Mind you I don't mind the actual having, it's just going to delay the surgery a skosh more. Plus another trip to Columbus before the" dirty deed "gets done . And I am an impatient patient!😓 I yearn for completion.👉😝👈

Hi Co-Ash girls, pulled up your profiles, another thing you have in common, you're both Big 10 girls like me. I'm in Central Ohio, one of you is in Illinois and the other in Minnesota. And we are all are happy bariatric chicks. Congratulations Ash Ash12,on getting your date, I hope to have mine soon, just back,forms trip to Columbus and tying up more loose ends. Met with Nurse Practioner, Dietician, Exercise Physiologist and had labs drawn . Got to make sure of cardiology and pulmonary findings forwarded as they were done by different hospital system. Then if they don't need repeated because they were within 6 months ago, it's full speed ahead to the PreSurgery visit with Surgeon and surgery time. Don't see it any later than July? ,I would do it tomorrow if I could. Everybody treated me very nice which,is in contrast to previous place. I like these people and want to work with them.🌺😝🌸

And I , children, had a totally idiosyncratic reaction, took it for a month and GAINED 30,POUNDS! Yeah my PCP and I couldn't believe it either, said if he'd heard it related by another doctor, he would have thought it a joke. But he knew me and I had all my food intakes and exercises charted also. So he wrote it down as idiopathic. This is a neat medical term for. " Duh, I don't know what caused it either!"👈😛👉

Probably gall bladder but also to determine the general shape of your stomach. Most people's don't vary that much, but it's always good to know. See the EGD tells the inner anatomy,of your digestive system, this would alert,them if you're built a little differently. God made each of us a little differently, he didn't just,pour us into a mold and let us harden there.😛 Peace- Joy- and Love Everyone!

Well it's 1 AM , I really should go back to sleep but I can't. This is the day for my Big and I think Important appointment with 4 people, I meet with my nurse practitioner, case manager, dietician and exercise physiologist, between the 4 wise ladies maybe I'll get a further clue as to when my surgery will be. If anybody has read my past postings, and there are many in the last six months, you know I have completed not once but twice basic requirements for bariatric surgery. Why isn't it done yet? AskDr Ding Dong, the rotten excuse for a surgeon who decided he was no longer in the mood to perform it. So I am enrolled in another and better program where I'm not a number but a person. who wants and deserves the surgical tool,to help achieve her proper weight loss. I actually like the people in this one, odd, when I look back,i never did like the other guy, he was more like the mechanic you ask to repair your car but don't have any other relationship with.. Maybe my inner gut was right. Oh well you,live and learn, I'm just not into the kind of put down I got there! And his loss will mean my long term gain🌺😛💕🌸

Does anyone know if Medicare covers any protein drinks etc or do they assume everyone should have surgery under 65 ?

Oh yes I am , average 84-96 and I have 3 kidneys, a little genetic bonus from my parents. Mamma had a horseshoe shaped on the right normal left, Daddy 2 distinct on the right, normal left, me the opposite Interesting sidelight When I had my idiopathic acute pancreatitis in May 2015 they took a Cat Scan of my abdomen. Came in and said Ummm you might have a tumor. I asked the location and when told, laughed and said" Silly that's just the top of my third kidney" See I also have 2 complete drainage systems over there. I'm sure if I wasn't as old as dirt some transplant team somewhere would be lusting after me, I just can hear them. "Oh you have so many, can we have a couple PLEASE?" Anyway one goes down to the bladder at the approved angle the other enters a cm or so lower at a slight angle. Yeah I'm just lovely inside. Hope my surgeon has a thick mask on so he or she doesn't drool at the odd layout. Maybe they'll do an open out of spite just so they can look around more. OMG I just remembered, I'm having my surgery in a teaching hospital, I might become a class project. Oopsey Daisy there! Really I would not mind an open although it's seldom done any more. I already have a right paramedian scar from when I had my gall bladder and appendix. removed 34 yes ago and it's 6 inches long, so variety be hanged. And from my BariBud BiddyNZ who did have an open, although you do have an abdominal wound to heal you have zero gas to expel.😛 So tomorrow I may just find out when this dog-and-pony show may be scheduled, I of course will post all updates. This has been dragging on since August 2015 and even I don't believe the twists and turns my story has taken, but maybe, just maybe , it will all conclude soon.👍😛
