June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!
Frustr8 replied to gully90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
To,you think your blurry vision is because of the anti-nausea patch? Somebody else seemed to think that messed up their👀 vision. I would hate to think surgery aged you to the, point you'll need👓 bifocals or something. -
Pain Pump and Blood Thinners
Frustr8 replied to michelle0721's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A pain pump, wow you must really be in California, around here we get a bottle of tylenol, some stool softeners, maybe some lovenox to shoot ourselves with to prevent, blood clots and a "see you, later" note. They are so scared about the, opiod epidemic some, people don't ev3n with get Norco. to bring home anymore. I hope I get more than a kiss on the forehead when I leave the hospital in July. I love 48 miles from there so the, likelihood of anyone daubing my fevered brow,on this town is pretty remote. Crazy hospital in Mount Vernon also known as the BandAid Station would say it serves me right for going over to Columbus, the fact they don't have much Bariatrics here, not withstanding. They did start doing lap band and sleeve but I need an RnY which is not offered, may have it by 2020,when they get a better general and Bariatric surgeon,to locate here. But I will not be getting younger and I want and need it now, not at their convenience.😪 -
Well I'm further along, I have even. had my presurgical blood work done, my deficencies that they are addressing , I am on Vitamin A , Vitamin D , my vitamin is a prenatal one for the extra iron, got an eyebrow or 2 raised at WalMart because I am 72 years old. I am also supposed to supplement my Calcium, the others are a once a day pill, but my Calcium is a new liquid I found at Wal-Mart, brand name is Wellesse, costs less than $10 & tastes like melted orange sherbert. take a 1 tablspoon twice a day. Other poster,is correct, most of the time you do go on chewable, I don't because of my low iron level and since I wear d3ntures it's hard to chew chewables, So far everything seems doable. I like Premier Protein quite a lot, Peaches and cream is my favorite, then caramel, then Strawberry, can't drink chocolate anything because of allergy. Muscle Milk is good, a little higher calorie count but I like their blueberry flavor, Eqaute Wal-Mart's house brand,is okay if you want to save a couple $. it just tSladtes faintly evaporated milk like to me. I also like Svelte, it's soy based a little lower in protein but I like its taste.I haven't tried the dry protein yet but will probably go with whey isolate unless I develop an intolerance. Anything else I can help with just ask,if I don't have the answer someone else on Bariatric Pal will!😝

Push tosh, I am 72, an ornery spunky redheaded. 72 and I will also have a July date. I will have an RnY at OSU-Wexner Medical Center in Columbus Ohio, no fears whatsoever, all of mine drowned a long time ago in my tears. Now I'm just moving forward , clear eyed , a spring in my step, not easy with 2 knee replacements, and hope in my❤. This is going to be a great wonderous day, indeed it will be my REBIRTHDAY and I hardly can wait!! Recovery may be longer, may be slower but I am a Baby Boomer, we do things with the class our Mamas instilled in us. Our weight, loss can and will be as good as the youngsters. If not, poof, it's still better than dying obese and in pain. I have lived this long and it is my intention to continue . Wanna hang around with me?🌟🚩😝🚩🌟

I wish my parents felt that way about sugar and similar. They, did feel that way about literature, never had comic books, I guess the political-correct term these days is "graphic novelettes". Goody goody that I love and enjoy fine literature but I'm still FAT! But. with the help of Medical Advances,an excellent surgeon in. Center of Excellence Bariatric Hospital, my body will be tuned up, my tool implemented and a Rebirtday will happen in July. And with hard work, a better diet I'm place, this fat shell will shatter and the real Frustr8 will emerge. Gosh,i am excited by the prospect of it all. My time to shine is coming, may not be completed until 2019 but I have the urge to make strides before then!😝🚩😝

Perspectives on Losing Fast & Slow
Frustr8 replied to GreenTealael's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Think of a stall, Folks. as your body rebooting. Every so often it takes a moment or so,to try to get itself in balance and then when it relaxes a little more weight comes off. Remember it was, happy when you were obese. It is just that you and your bariatric surgeon didn't agree!😧 -
Yipes I have crazy dreams and I'm pre surg ---is it going to be worse afterward?

Adding Fruits into Your Shakes?
Frustr8 replied to Love2Travel816's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Somebody gave me a bag of unsweetened frozen blueberries, wonder if I can add them to future shakes? -
Ms Tipps I have always respected i your postings but you just grew three or four notches yet. You are. so strong, so collected at a time where many would be wailing, running in circles or stuffing their mouths with bad food choices. I salute you. You are one of the people had our paths ever physically crossed , would claim n you,in an instant as a friend. God Bless and keep you and your 2 little ones.

Liquid post-op diet sucks
Frustr8 replied to Kay07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gee guys reading and re reading all this! Found out OSU does liver skrink, their, patients. Former place, did not. Well I promised I'd be good and behave for this new chance, guess I'll eat my words because it may be all I'm eating for a while.😧 -
I would rather live with 5-7 small scars on my tummy which I don't expose that much to the sun anyway than to die, fat and unscarred and unscathed.

Frustr8 replied to Ylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You eat the fridge you get Fridgidaire- itis and they won't even give you a mehanical soft diet, just put you under a stiff electromagnet and, pull the steel out. Do you suppose you could convince you were, iron deficient and just HAD to eat the fridge? Maybe worth the try!😝 -
I think she really deserves a medal, well we all do, but hers should be the size of the buckle on those wrestlers championship belts. In this corner,in extreme pain, our once and future champion MS ASH ASH the GREAT!

Gallbladder/Apple juice cleanse?
Frustr8 replied to lex2287's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Epsom salts make a lovely laxative if that's what you're seeking, the Apple Juice only works if you believe the old adage "An Apple a day keeps the Doctor away!" works aboutvascwell as wishing the fat away and we all know how well that worked! Get thyself to an gastroenterologist if surgeon dragging his feet, go to the nearest big or teaching hospital, in my case OSU where I'm going anyway. But ignoring them won't cute them and FYI every gallstone I have ever heard off is radiopaque, spasms might not show up but gallstones are solid and do, even large sand sized. Don't want one in your ducts blocking things. I turned jaundiced the weekend before my removal, had seen the Doctor Thursday, was scheduled for the next Monday. Yellow is not,an attractive shade for people and you almost as crappy as you look. -
One of my aqaintances gave me this idea. A package of sugar free jello, after mixing it with boiling water stir in a larger size container of greek yogurt, she puts hers in a glass casserole dish, hers is a 2 -3,quart, I think I would use my square cake one, scoops or cuts a little sqaue chunk as a treat. Wonder if you could stir,in a little extra protein powder?
