One of Tomkitten, my son's favorite all-time videos is "It's Raining Men" by Martha Wash and the Cancelled. He was playing,it off of You Tube, turned to me and said Those, ladies really could benefit from Bariatric Intervention. Yes, he inherited my,โคof BIG words. And truly, at the time they made that video, they could. Several of them looked at risk for cardiac complications. So as first nominees I vote for them. Number 2 would be Kim Jung Un , he is an un- happy fat little dude. and perhaps surgery, would make him a smaller happier person. WHO do YOU feel would benefit MOST?

Where are all the 50 something bypass patients?

Rock the casbah you two, rock the casbah!๐ช -
Tomkitten says he is going to get a T-shirt with a big rodent on it. Sawa if I'm going treat him like a gopher he might as well wear the suit. Reminded him he isn't that much smaller than me , it would have to be a capybara.

Iโm so ready to feel better!
Frustr8 replied to beingdina's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like nibble's,list, all pretty doable. If you want not to do the protein shake for lunch plan, how about cottage cheese with wzterpacked fruit like pears, tomato,or tuna, Greek yogurt, even plain scrambled, eggs or boiled egg. Something besides jelly and pbutter on white bread, baloney sandwich with. chips or 2 fat chocochip cookies. those last 3 got you where you are today. Even a glass of white milk is better than those ooey gooey Satanic cookies. Granted I am allergic to chocolate but I have indulged in their 1st cousins peanut butter and butterscotch chip soft cookies. Not only a moment on your lips, forever on your hips but they never flew by my thighs. My thunder thighs would feed 2 cannibal families Easter Dinner. Right now it is 5 pm, and Grouchy Ghrelin says I'm hungry. Not just in my head, I want a tossed salad with a sliced hard boiled egg and sliced tomato in it, dressing on the side, thank you! Why don't I go get it? Because I'm posting instead of letting GG win the argument. I hope Dr Needleman wrecks his little red wagon in July with my surgery. I'll even accept a Jackson-Pratt drain in gratitude! I too want to FEEL BETTER!๐๐๐ -
My thought on the subject Reach out to your family,if they try to slap your hands, reach out again. You get the hea enly bo,us points, they only get eternal demerits. People outside WLS don't really comprehend the ins and outs of it, the ups the downs. Come to us, we do understand, we have been there or are going through stuff also. You already and always will have friends here.

Fourth of July Menu, What's cookin at your house?
Frustr8 replied to Creekimp13's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I can talk, the talk and soon will be walking the walk, estimated time of surgery is July 2018, just no exact date. I would like to put myself on a prediet, get a head.start but everybody says You'll get sick,of it all, don't! Right now I feel like I am neither fish nor fowl, emotionally I don't want the bad things I can in theory still eat, but ghrelin monster keeps, hitting the sides of my stomach hollering feed me! I had a small peanut butter, the good kind on real whole wheat bread, 2 hours ago and I'm hungry. I would probably take CreekImp's deviled eggs except I don't really like devilled eggs. I wish Lloyd Leptin would overule Grouchy Ghrelin but I'm getting older and Lloyd is sleeping in somewhere. -

Ooh nothing better, such a difference for boughten and homegrown things . I loves me a salad of home grown greens, the lettuce has pretty well bolted. Wahh, but there are still other goodies out back. I make a dynamite boiled dressing but I guess I will be on lemon juice, olive oil and a few herbs in my salad dressing now. Oh well a few sacrifices for science. Somewhere in July I will join you, when? well still some mini-snafus. I had to be on a 30 day electronic charting of C Pap usuage, because my PCP had taken me off because to was aggravating,my sinus problems. That will complete July 1st, July2nd the results are emaied/faxed to OSU, Jessica my coordinated only works that day, then doesn't return until July 9th, she turkey-trots them to Valerie, the NursePractioner, who reviews them and then either Valerie. calls the 6th or Jessica calls the 9th and gives me the happy surgery date, I. think? God, this is never-ending! My do it yourself out is looking good. I have a boxcutter, 50 pound test fishing line, hairclips, a surgical manual hairclips, a Swingline stapler 3way mirror and bravery, what else do I need?l Have a happy day, let me know how surgery goes. -
Guess how much my surgeon's office wanted to charge my insurance?
Frustr8 replied to kordie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My local hospital charged me for a special diet and I was NPO, the little plastic wahbasin with goodies like toothpaste etc, $15 the first time, $20 the second then I got smart and refused it, told them I'd get up and wash myself in the bathroom. My son was in a room with only a washbasin as plumbing, of course I. asked why , I'm a snoopy broad. "This is cardiac stepdown, we expect everyone to be cathaterized"! Hmmmm? I was billed for consults with an hospitalist who never darkened my door. How do I know? All my personal doctors were male, this one had first name of Amy-Jo. My late husband the Late Lamented had a note notarized in his wallet wallet stating he DID NOT wish to be an organ donor, this is because in my state if you DO they make a note on your drivers licence that you do. When we showed them his ID it was supposed to be also scanned into the systems. I am standing there holding his cold dead hand and I get a call from Lifeline Organ Donation in Columbus and this woman did not want to take no for an answer. Now many, people do choose organ donation, I respect them for that but they should also respect the opposing view. What would they have wanted? He had glaucoma, had laser surgeirs, scratch corneas, kidneys were shot, he had hereditary kidney disease which finally killed him, scratch kidneys, had rheumatic fever as child and rheumatoid arthritis , scrach joints, bones and heart, smoked off and on for years, scratch lungs, had diabetes and NASH, scratch pancreas, scratch liver. early stages of demetia, scratch brain, WTF left? Lady says" if you would let us, he would live on!" No I said I'm holding his cold dead hand, he's been dead for over a half hour before hospital even admitted it, and he DIDN T WANT IT, Now Goodbye, and I dont appreciate you calling me on my personal cellphone, which I keep only for emergencies, don't give the number out and you are not that, only an hinderance to my mourning and calling my mortician So that's the way the picture hangs!. -
@2shea- don't put out a challenge, there will be somebody on Bariatric Pal with an answer. Ergo, here I am. I knew and still know a retired cannibal. Found Jesus, came to the USA for Bible College, he was from New Guinea, speaks English with an Australian accent, don't know if the, missionary was from there or just because he's from that area of the South Pacific. Fasinating Dude to sit and talk to. So some information for you. People, at least the eatable ones, are called " long pork" due to,our omnivore diet we taste most like that. The US pork producers have an ad campaign calling Pork the other white meat, guess what ? That's us Too! If you go to New Guinea, happen to be caught by cannibals that happen to speak English , tell them you are American. If they don't speak English, all bets are off. Okay, back to why you tell them you're American. We have so many, pesticides, hormones and overuse of antibiotics, we are not fit for human consumption. Frystr8, my friend David, never could pronounce his New Guinea one, and David said it,rough translated the same, said Even we don't care much for indigestion, nausea and vomiting. Australian and New Zealanders taste like mutton. They don't care much for the taste of Japanese , much, too fishy. But, he said, Grandfather said during the Second World War, you took what you could get to survive and get along. Always wondered if he got homesick, if he went to the local steakhouse and ordered a slab of spareribs. Hope all the information helps all of you! ๐๐

And if you want or need,a Bariatric GodAunt or even GodGrammy may I offer me? I am in Middle America, Ohio is about as middle road as you can get. I saw,on another forum thread , someone, thinking if I can. go back to my 20s and be thin everything will be perfect. Ain't no guarantee! I have lived until 72 years of age and I can tell you, there is no one age perfect, just like there was no good old days. They were different but, also not prefect. As an example I had a friend who,had partial. paralysis from polio. We have preventive liquids and shots now , back then our parents lived in fear every summer we would get that sickness. There is no free lunch in life, yes I am philosophical goes with my age. You do the best you can what you have. Now in July I will have my surgery, a Rny bypass and I believe it will enhance my,life, but make it,perfect? No I have arthritis, weight loss. will calm it down but it always will have influence. I have 2 knee replacements, less weight will help with, pain there but I never will be the baseball catcher, yes the boys had to let me play, ' cause there weren't that many guys in our neighborhood to field a team, besides I had a good arm and was willing to spend time crouched down when I wasn't batting, and I was a switch hitter, that is of value on a team, I also played basketball, tall enough,to play center, but preferred power forward, nobody challenged me to a game of horse, after I beat all my boy cousins as well as the guys in the hood. It was let Frustr8 play, shoot pick her for our side, she's hard to,play against. Now my knees wore out and needed replaced. But was it worth it, think so. I am about your size and height, used to be 6 feet but women skrink, with menopause. Its less healthy at my age than yours, but did my doctors tell me I had to do it? They might have mentioned dying pretty soon in passing, but this was my decision and although sleeve is an option for some, many of my friends are sleevers, it wasn't for me . I have GERD, bad enough I am on a top of the line PPI from my gastroenterologist, I have sleep apnea wear my jet pilot mask every night, as I said severe arthritis, I need the quicker weight loss bypass gives, the next step after my joint impairment is a wheelchair,no I prefer going through life at a fast lurch, and although at this point I have dodged 3 of the biggies, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer, when you weigh as much as a. redwood tree there are no guarantees there either. Many surgeon's won't do their magic,on people over 60 years old. I am here to prove them wrong, I am as healthy as many 45 year olds, strong-willed, committed to success and don't take no for an answer. I have outlived many family members, most more slender, and I have , given the chance many more miles in me. Don't count out Frustr8, count on me instead. Here are my stats if anyone reading this doesn't know them. HW355 October 2017 CW321 flubbery pounds SW to be determined EDS July ?? 2018 Bariatric Facility Ohio State University-Wexner Medical Center Columbus Ohio 43210 Surgeon-Bradley Needleman MD-๐ทcheif of Baiatric Surgery-when Frustr8 plays, she plays for keeps! Bummer to the Max! You were being blamed for something that wasn't even your fault. If you are going to be accused of being a sinner, you should at least have the joy of commiting the sin!๐๐

Iโm so ready to feel better!
Frustr8 replied to beingdina's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And that also is one,of my core reasons. You get sick and tired of being sick and tired. Bloated, achy, swollen, stiff, tight, add painful every joint, sadness that pervades, flat out ready to give up. Yep pretty well covers it, CreekImp is correct, it isn't a cure-all but still it's better than where you are now!๐ชโค๐ -
May the Bananrama and you be perfect friend from now on. Congratulations and good healing. for you!๐

And it is not impossible from that info session you might be directed to a new sympathetic PCP. Yes that is backwards the way it usually happens. One of my new girlfriends had an unsympstheti PCP well unsympathetic wasn't so much as apathetic, told her I don't care if you seek out WLS or not. She asked her bariatric program if they knew of a PCP who they had worked with well. They kinda looked at her funny, gave her a list of 5 in her town , she lived in adjoining to the main city. Doctor #2 , after she and Doctor talked were a perfect match and she says Dr Doris will be hers even after surgery.๐

What is Being Morbidly Obese Protecting You From?
Frustr8 replied to Mary Jo Rapini's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Nicolas says she has been obese since childhood, mine started almost from birth genetics and the desire of wellmeaning parents who equated large with healthy. What kept it going? Sexual abuse as a child, being an undiagnosed female on the autism spectrum. Not only did the weight help me Look less attractive but good befriended me, it was my friend when peers would not befriend me. These contributed but,i have been the one with psycological help that has had to crawl out and learn to stand up proud and finally learn to live and accept me. Neurodiversity is my strength instead of my sorrow and shame. I am unaverage but I am me and that more than sufficed. -

While you walk, look around, enjoy the wonders of nature if you're outdoors, if you are at the mall, still look around. If in your apartment hallways stop and talk to,people you meet. go,out with the expectation of fun, not punishment you don't have a parole officer or somebody with bloodhound chasing you. This something you are doing for and your best interests. Come back and talk to,us, we know and understand how you feel in a way outsiders don't. And there is almost one of us always here.๐
