Hey I've been looking for a place to post this, I almost put it in the post surgery ๐ฉforum but I am still before surgery and I want to kinda whine, I am on Day#10 of a whole month liver-shrink diet. I am having ๐ฉproblems to be honest. My Stoll doesn't like leaving me, Oh it isn't what I would call constipation, I always heard that way hard textured and this isn't hard. I'm on 1000 calorie,100 gram protein,70 grams carb diet. Maybe it's that my colon muscles are 72 years old, maybe it isn't as firm as it once was and my muscles can't get a Firm hold, but it aches and I have sit there for not all spectacular results. The last few days I've resorted to Miralax, maybe a little help? My preconceived notion was I would have diarrhea , nope hasn't happened, am I worrying for nothing? I had more defecation fun when I was eating at will, but I do want and need this surgery. Is this common?

@ momrn247 . although you might never thought you'd hear this phrase" Thank You for Your service!" Every nurse I have ever met be it on Med-Surg or Ambulatory Surgery floors has been an angel in Scrubs, there are times I must confess I have not been a sterling patient but they have put up with my foibles and insecurities and been a perfect professional lady or gentleman through it. And yes I have had male nurses, and in a female-dominated profession they have been absolute jewels. So thank you again and if you happen to be my nurse in September I,promise I'll TRY to behave well!๐๐๐

Menopause
Frustr8 replied to Naughty Glitter Goddess's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
One lady on here stated she thought she was well into perimenopause, after her surgery she went back to heavy 5 day periods for 6 months before things settled down. Said she had been ready to go into "old ladie-dom" before those hormones went into a last "power surge", -
I had to tie a knot in my draws/panites! WTH
Frustr8 replied to sleevin7's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I remember the lady who went to the Atlanta Braves game. They all STOOD up do either the WAVE or the CHOP, her good dress slacks feel down around her knees and they caught it on the Stadium Jumbotron. Talk about a facepalm or worse moment! If it had been me and my family was with me that day, I guarantee one of them would have turned to ME and said " God ,we can't take YOU,anywhere! -
I eish, I hope, my facility has such a Pass Me Down closet, I have oodles of clothes I have been holding on to. After 3 years of YES NO MAYBE I feel they can go. I'd like them to go to people who need them, not into a dumpster or someplace they put outlandish prices on them. What also would be nice is a better system in place. I could take in 3 dresses, 4 slacks and 4 tops in 26-28 and withdraw say 18-20s equivalent. As I undergrew those, maybe go,back, for 16s?

You probably have the fluids they pumped into your body while, you, had a an IV plus there probably is fluid and swelling internally from the assault on your body.Yeah you wanted it but your gastrointestinal system is "crying", it says "why, oh why did YOU let them do this to ME? I thought we were friends?" Gradually the "water weight" will leave and you will start again on your weight descent. It's ALL GOOD after all.๐ ๐๐

I've alway vowed I wouldn't be one of those issues. When I was working aLong Term Health I had among my patients this sweet lady, let's call her Lizzy. Her daughter was a licensed cosmotologist, should have, known. better, she would drag off Momma to the beauty shop in our facility. Since she was licensed, they let her have the keys although it was Saturday. Poor Lizzy, would return to her room, her hair an inch and half long, tightly curled smelling of permanent solution and her scalp showing through bright red. And she would be sniffling. And as she passed in front of the large mirror over the washbasin in her room and saw herself , tears would flow and flow. Yes she might have had a touch of dementia, most of my patients did, but she was still with it enough to know daughter dear, had made her look pathetic and dare I say it? silly and to ME that is worse than the little old ladies with a halo of strange colored hair, at least they wouldn't catch a head cold going outside for a walk.

I have had 2, one in 2015 at the hands of a General Surgeon, one December 2017 from a gastroenterologist. Neither one did I have markings like you sustainef, whew you must have been a ๐ฏ tiger while asleep. I'm so sorry you had to have such a reminder of that day. The first I had a little sore throat and felt hung over. Last December was fantabulous, easy going to sleep, easy wake-up and I felt GOOD afterwards, Dr Mujataba was wonderful. If I ever have anymore it will be a gastroenterologist that does it!

Pre Op test done. What is next?
Frustr8 replied to Silke's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And I hope you get the answers you want, get a date to firm up your plans. If you find you will need to go on a liver-shrink ing, diet, you will have a,lot sharing that dietary Purgatory, and it seems every doctor seems to feel he or she had a personal revelation from God as to the, proper length it should be, 1 week,, 2 week, 3 week, 4 week, like me, just the day, before and a FEW lucky dogs who don't have to do any. So when you do HAVE a date, please share with us. We can celebrate๐ข with you, and if necessary we can crank the old๐ Prayer Machine up if necessary. You're always among friends here!๐
