Frustr8 replied to RHCD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not raining,on your parade, just amplification. Mama had her gall out one fall, shortly afterwards I started having symptoms, in truth I had symptoms when carrying baby #3, ob-gyn poo'pooed me. Had excuses Baby just kicking, Way baby's laying yadah yadah. When I showed signs again Mama. said I was just envious( Hunh?) GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+<br /> +
Frustr8 replied to Frustr8's topic in The Gals' Room
She is, she just has 23 more years of knowledge. Look at me, I'm 72 and I get ornerier every day. I'm a ♑ Capricorn, we get younger as we all age, by 80-85 I WILL BE A FORCE TO CONTEND WITH! I shall be brave enough to tell Donald Trump to shut up with those tweets. -
Hey if the Reverse Trendelenburg is basically standing me up I could have stayed awake for that! Of course, I would want to give advice as they proceeded, they would need a mouth gag or tape my 👄 mouth shut! I'm 72, I've lived forever, I'm just brimming with advice!!

Rosie is right, we do learn as we go in these proceedings, but do talk to someone, maybe you're your worst critic, I know I am, maybe you are still doing pretty okay after all. Don't sweat the small stuff, you'll tie yourself up in. " nots". this is not right, that is not right. You'll end up fraying your nerves.

ONG I'm still hung up on the surgeon between the legs maneuver. I knew my arms would be extended out to each side in a modified crucifixion pose, but IDK. my legs sprawled apart? Should I sprinkle glitter down there after my pre-surgery 🚿 shower? The picture keeps looping through my mind. I did't realize the surgical team was getting that intimate with rest of me. If this is this formal maybe I ought to paint my toenails in Bravery Orange like Fluffy Chix recommended. And I could cover any cat scratchs with smiley face bandaids. Don't currently have any but you never know when one might decide to use me as springboard when chasing each other!🐯😛🐱

Life is for the living, so live your life to the utmost, you can!💕😛💕 -
Well @skm1971 it's a fantabulous Friday I sure hope it is good for you. I have a presurgical meeting with an amrsthesia person, a Dr Patel. Did you, know,Patel is as common as Smith or Jones,is here. Most common one in India. My hospital, Ohio State University has a weird sequence of doing things . Apparently you meet with someone from Anesthesia to go over a final checklist 11 days before surgery. So I have an appointment at 11:45 to do that. I'll do it , I'll do it if. if it's part of the final countdown. September 5th , here I come! So,how did, your own surgery go? A lot of people say the third day post- surgery can be rough. I sure hope yours goes smooth instead. I wish everybody could have uneventful ones, but this is the real world and things don't always work out that way. But I try to stay upbeat through it all.🍀🍀😛

@zerocool glad the pieces are falling into place, after surgery must be like doing one of those 10,000 piece puzzels, everything does fit but you have to keep, adjusting until you figure out how piece goes. Every gain is a gaon, your healing will be your own, but give yourself permission to figure things out..
-
Well congratulations to him, I hope he heals well. And my prayer for you is that you have an wonderful, surgery yourself on the 30th. This way you can each encourage thr, other to exercise and eat healthy. This will be a wonderful new life for you both.

Pre-surgery liquid diet
Frustr8 replied to andrealuv's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sipping Broths sounds like a very good idea. I wounded if they can be found retail or it they are only,an "on line" item? -
And @ Jacob I trust you are still doing well, today. Many people say that the 3rd post surgery day is the worst.,Most of your surgery meds has worn off and you start to worry that maybe this wasn't a good idea. But stay strong, there beautiful days ahead for you!

SEPTEMBER 2018 SURGERIES AND SUCCESS
Frustr8 replied to Frustr8's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Nope opposite problem . Due to maybe the iron in my prenatalYes Prenatal- my hospital recommends them because of borderline anemia) I am 7/8ths of the way to constipation. Going to up my non starchy veggies and see if that helps. Making friends with Miralax and Milk of Magnesia, dreading how they may be after surgery. Well jury still out, noverdict reached. -
In a similar vein , my baby doctor had a sweatshirt that said "Super Obstetrician",told me the only problem was his office called him by the initials!
-
Hmmn I'll look into that!

Letter of medical necessity?

Way to go sleevegirl88, now things will move forward. Do you have a firm date yet? So happy you got that taken care of.😛💙😛 -
Caroline125, sweet Miss Caoline in North Carolina, are things going better for you? I am your surgery twin from Ohio, so I'm going through all this with you. I started my Verdompt liver shrinking diet on August 1st, my body is somewhat resigned to it by now. I have lost 12-13 lbs as of last Monday. Is it fun? Not Really Am I glad I'm doing it? Not especially, I call it a Dietary Purgatory, takes forever, not a comfy place, takes a lot of praying to get set free. But I will do it, I remember my surgeon in July when he palpated the area on my abdomen where he will be working, felt liver margins under my right ribs, not a good sign, means I have NASH, non alcoholic steatohepatitis, means I have a fat flubbery liver.Looked up, said" You will be doing,my diet?" Busted, no eat a little of what tastes good up until my surgery ! Wahaa!💦 For every week you are on a liver-shrinking diet your liver gets smaller by 2.4%, so if I can stick it out my liver will be 12% smaller. So bravely I set forth. I know what you are feeling n mine is a little better, I start out to do things, get a quarter to half-done, it's like a vacuum cleaner switched on and suckedmy strength out and I too get weak and dizzy. It is rough to pose as a Southern Belle, rapidly fan myself and say" Lawzey me, I do feel slightly faint. I believe I will just sit down!" See I'm still built like a plowhorse, somebody would slap me on the rump and tell me to get out to the field and start plowing. I try telling them I'm delicate, refined and think i' m are and sturdy like brick. Yeah if you're allowed salt , just a smidge. Herbs and lemon pepper are better, love it on a baked tilapia fillet. Try getting more fluids in, that's what I got told when I complained of dizzy. I think it just means when I collapse I'll make a splashing sound. Can you add a protein shake or 2,? 700 is low on calories, my diet is 1000 and a lot of people's are higher than that and they still are losing weight. How about a tossed salad with low cal diet dressing? I can have 2 T as long as they don't total over 90 cal. And it doesn't have to be. Skinny Gal, I've Equate, Ken s Steakhouse and Western brand low cal, like a French but it tastes the same as the full strength. If you need anybody who understands your trials and sorrows i'm available.

Breast reduction surgery?
Frustr8 replied to kordie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish the surgeons would have a special rate for turning tennisball in tube sock syndrome into something a little perkie. I'd like to a hand full from the cloth waitresses wipe tables off with. Cracks me up sometimes, the guys are over crowing about extra inches in their package on their forum, we only wish someone had a sale on seat belt retractors so we could roll ours up to stuff in a bra. Ain't fair Magee, ain't fair!😪 -
Bowels after surgery

I have my,own RnY in 13 days, and her great, results greatly encourage me. This will rid my GERD monster of his sway, over my life, my last reservation cobwebs just got brushed away. Lets go for it, Summer Essence, good for ME,good for YOU. 😛🍀😛 -
Feeling Guilty: Who's life do I save? Mine or my daughters?
Frustr8 replied to Last Resort's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, I just remembered something I was told. I am having my Surgery at my,states Land Grant university. I was told if one of their students requires this or similar surgery, even if they are already covered under parents insurance they pro-rate the surgery as a courtesy gift to the student and family. Now it might be just an urban legend but check with insurance brokers, your state , if the have any money left over from Rod B. and company maybe there# s an untapped s5are program you could squeeze into. See I do want you to have yours and your daughter too. sO would never wish obesity and it's sorrows on a young 👧, this casts a shadow over her college years and future. I never was duplicious. but maybe one of you would need a Hiatal Hernia repair, that would be cheaper, they could bill for that instead and save money. There has to be another answer we haven't explored. We used to have insurance workers on Bariatric Pal, maybe one of them has some clues on how to make insurance work for you instead of against you. If insurance is a racket, surely we have a racket-buster in the house G9nna still puzzle on this. -

Feeling Guilty: Who's life do I save? Mine or my daughters?
Frustr8 replied to Last Resort's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes check in with your insurance, Matt Z made a suggestion I confess I wouldn't have thought of. She,is still in your policy, isn't she? Being in college she would be,right? What I am going to suggest- get your surgery, first. You cannot, put out your daughter's fire if you have burned up, if you can't get her scheduled with yours , and there are a least a couple mom'daughters doing it,onBariatric Pal, get yours. Are you, sure anyway that she is also at this emotional point that you are? You are ready but she may not, have reached that point. Say Mom is at the point she is checking into bariatric surgery, would you like to go with me? Do you think you would like to do it yourself? If you want to, great but Mom is doing this. I put my family ahead of me, my parents , my late husband, my kids, all they had to do,was look at me wrong and I caved in. Now I am 72, facing a surgery that would have been easier in my 50s my 60s, oh I will still make it through I am in remarledly good health other than arthritis and obesity. My son attended the seminars at this new hospital with me, see I had finished prep twice before, long story there, at a BMI of 37,with a comorbid he might of also qualified but he's not emotionally ready at this point, oh he's supportive, supportive to the inth degree, but not yet for, him. His weight doesn't yet distress him, sure he is chunky but it's still a healthy chunky lows the yard, clears branches to the back,of the property etc but he sees I Do Need It whereas his sister RD short for Rotten Daughter is self-centered , doesn't much care, reached out to her, her answer' Whatever", sad but it's the truth. But I will save my life, make it better, give, myself a future obesity denies me. So heartless and strong sounding as this is. Save Yourself So That YOU can Save Your Daughter! Much love from me in Ohio Frustr8
