Hand my Sleeve on Sept. 5, happy and miserable!
Frustr8 replied to Futuresleevie18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
And after being a bono fide September 5th person, an RNY, and being on Stage 2 and it's liquids all that time, today at 2:10pm I have an Exploratory EGD scheduled , Now NPO for the procedure, accept I might be in ๐ตcactus-ville before this is over, but maybe a definite answer why my Precious pouch won't let me move on.๐ชโค๐ญ -
Suggestions for what to bring to the hospital
Frustr8 replied to Georgetown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Never used Biotene in the hospital, they kept me on IV the whole time I was there, so I was well- moisturized. I use it now anyway, just did because I am now NPO for my procedure tomorrow. -
Marginal/anastomotic ulcer anyone?
Frustr8 replied to eudys3's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
And my Bari-bud Ellie123 was off to her ER , has been vomiting and hadn't stopped. I hope everything is Okay, her pouch is 2 weeks older than mine so now nearly 2 months since surgery. -
You're the second person I read today that likes Hint, I don't think anyone sells it around here.

So so sorry, ๐ชcome back when you feel strong enough, you always have a home here with us!

Blood thinner injections
Frustr8 replied to mousecat88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very short, very thin, I didn't hardly feel it until I hit a spot near where I had injected before, and I did mine for 3 weeks not just 2. And I felt like I was a partner in my recovery, like I was helping make me better. And I am pretty stoic but I don't watch anymore myself. It does get old after a while, you know. And t9morrow I have another IV c9ming, I have to undergo another EGD to find out why my pouch won't accept puree And above. But I will do fine again, I'm a pretty tough old๐ฃ after all! Look for an update tomorrow evening, okay? -
I actually had someone post me to ask which surgery was the least painful. All I have had is an RnY, so no basis of comparison. My guess is that it varies. There are some hardy souls--- they are off to the mall as soon as they are discharged. And at the other end are soul,s like me somewhat still dragging. But not really complaining, I knew at 72 it would not be a walk in the park, but i will still make it, I just am not going to set any land speed records.๐ข

Travel to MX from outside of North America
Frustr8 replied to a70sRollerDisco's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I'm sure it is more than doable. And having lived in Peru you will be fluent, enough in Spanish to know if anyone says anything out of line, not that I think they would. But go for it, of course I would think BariatricPalMx is bestt, they seem to deliver a quality product and their doctors won't release you premature back into the world. If I hadn't had insurance that is where I would have gone!๐ -
Fertile after surgery in 40โs
Frustr8 replied to Lovingmyselfforever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I belive too it will happen and the future little guy or gal will be so lucky, they will have a mama who got herself ready before, you will be dyn-o-mite! -
The thought of a catheter.. scary!
Frustr8 replied to Ed_NW's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sill not as bad as being sutured without numbing. That happened to me, accidentally ripped out my stitches, they put them back in but said it was too soon to give me any numbing and I felt every needle insertion, yank and tug, all 15 of them. The distention and such of an urinary cath, No Big Deal! -
I honestly felt worse with root canals and having all 4 wisdom teeth extracted and then walking 2 miles in the โ rain. Why did I walk home in the rain? Couldn't find anyone to drive me, was about half the age I am now and like Travis Tritt, I was" 10 feet tall and bulletproof", Would I do it again? No way I have 2 artificial knees, too many years of playing catcher, I'm twice as old, smarter? Now that is debatable, and besides I developed dry sockets. Now THAT is a miserable occurance. But post-surgery pain? Somewhere between too many sit-ups and pist-partum pain, closer to the first. And that's at its worst, just remember while you were asleep someone was in with an eggbeayer but things do settle down soon. And a new better life start an and I know it is worth all the inconvenience for the gains you receive.

Eating & drinking at the same time??
Frustr8 replied to stinaaaxxo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah no sense sending it on down the line until youve got all the nutriton out of it. But it isn't easy to not drink right afterward. Strength, my freinds, stay strong!๐ช -
Never been "average," never been "normal", but I always and always been ME,and after years of trying to pound my square peg self into the world's round holes, I had a moment of clarity, maybe THEY are the ones flawed, not ME. I am cool just the way I am structured, and I plan still to become less the woman I was weight-wise, but the rest of ME is fine and dandy!๐๐๐

I think they removed my TIGGER-TAIL when they did my surgery, I bounce,no more. Hoping for a smooth chug chug down the road of life๐.

I am planning one when I make my goal, and if I have any long scars maybe trailing ivy?

Mine does 3, 6 and a year, more often if valid reason. So I should have December, March and September 2019.

If they didn't mention it, they are not considering gum and hope you aren't either. When I was a teen-age Frustr8 I used to eat gum during my afternoon classes to stave off hunger, imagine what sorrows I would encounter with a dime-sized stoma between my pouch and intestine? Haven't chewed any since July, and it, like NSAIDS are forever gone from my life!!!

Anyone have an issue progressing their diet
Frustr8 replied to Diane60's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
And Diane I am an RnY having an EGD for possible(I feel probable) stricture. I am a little less pist-surgery mine was September 5th but I have been on the Liquid Bandwagon with you. And all my Surgery Day buddies are progressing way ahead of ME!๐ญ -
Bingeing with Bypass
Frustr8 replied to MissLindseyR's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
OH NeversayNever and group, HE355, lost 15 pounds the month of August, and 24 since my surgery on September 5th. When I ended up on October 1st in our local community hospital ( aka the Band-aid station) they claimed my blood work showed perfection except for mild dehydration. Fluided me up by IV until I could give them an urine sample before going home. Why do I go there at all? Its closer than my Bariatric Facility 48 miles away. And rumor has it local yokels have found a general surgeon who wants to institute a Bariatric program, so like a purple spotted giraffe, everyone wanted to talk to or at least look at the strange beast there. They knew a little about lapband, a few about VSG but nobody seemed to have ever seen a live RnY bypasser, ended up lecturing a tutorial. Really didn't feel like doing a free one, but one serves where they can. Another bari-pal says the Friday EGD may leave me sore, NBT I'm there already. Not sorry for the surgery, the experience not even the surgeon, only sad my body is healing in this way. Just a minor blip in my recovery, I'll be putt-putting๐ down the road again, you know I started out So Good! -
Me too, like I said earlier, a teeny goi,gof banana did me in and woke,up on Nausea Train ๐with you Jennie Jupiter. Gosh I love your pen name, you're someone I would have liked in the PreWorld! And my chest still feels so sore! People say I may feel sore after this EGD, be no worse than what I have now!๐ญ

Couping With Tight Days Pouch Days...
Frustr8 replied to ellie123's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Everybody please think of me tomorrow, 5 and half weeks since and having an EGD Friday October 12th at 2:15 pm EDT. Maybe my surgeon's partner Dr Noria will have some answers why Precious Pouch is SUCH a Crabby, individual. Currently, liquids yes. pureed and above- No No No. Had a bad time last pm with an inch piece of ๐, looked soft and tender, before, felt miserable afterward, chest still sore today. This morning I woke up nauseous, WTF next? Even broths etc BORING!๐ช๐ช๐ญ
