And are everybody doing well today? -
And may you continue on this good pathn you are literally recreating yourself and I believe, the final product will set the world. on its ear. Keep believing in yoursekf!

Try things room temprature, go very slowly, literally drop by drop, let your throat get used to it. That said sugar free popsicles worked best for me, rather froze, the pain away. Everybody's body reacts, differently to the trauma of surgery.

Hand my Sleeve on Sept. 5, happy and miserable!
Frustr8 replied to Futuresleevie18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh I will not give up hope, Dr Needleman and his partner Dr Noria wh9 I met yesterday when she did my EGJ, are very smart physicians and surgeons. I'm sure I am not the first to have this problem. My Grandma Adah, may she rest in peace, had a saying. The Good Lord never made an itch he didn't make a scratcher to fit it. Translation: There is an answer for everything, sometimes you,got to think a while but there is always an answer. I am anxious for it,to manifest itself.😙☺😃 -

I do have a stricture and 5 new ulcers, non bleeding, non ready to perforate, will need another EGJ in 2 weeks or less, surgeon couldn't totally get st9ma stretched out but God is still living me, watching, over me and I feel the solution will come! And I will trust in Him. -
And you can do it and do it well! Remember I was on liver-shrinking for 5 weeks, all of August and the first 4 days of September. Trust you are doing well otherwise. Me -pfft-not so you would notice. Yesterday I underwent an EGJ at OSU with Dr Noria, Dr Needleman's partner presiding. And I was correct I do have a stricture, a moderate one. What i, and she, I suspect was 5 new ulcers around the stoma area and on the back wall of the jejunem. So now we have doubled up the omeprazole, which I have absolutely NO faith in and added Carafate every 6 hours. See I was on omeprazole when Hector my tiny gastric ulcer was discovered. We know what caused Hector, excessive NSAID usage. Remember the movie Gremlins? Well Hector is Gizmo, these new step-brother ulcers are Stripe and his family, not bleeding or perforated YET! But not nice to know you have. And in 2 weeks or less I have another EGJ to see if inflammation and swelling down enough to attempt stretching the stoma again. It is a good thing I live in Central Ohio, because if I lived close enough I would do harm to the Campbell's and Progresso soup factories. Beginning to think I will die with Cream of Mushroom breath. But continue with vitamins, minerals Zofran and don't rock the boat! Meanwhile all my Surgery twins are on soft and regular foods. Wah wah💦But I am a stubborn old chick🐣 I will see it through to the bitter end!

Outstanding, only another Weight- loser can understand the triumphant feeling. I just broke 300 recently, and that was Wonderful for Me!

I'm planning on adding some variety the First of the Month when I get paid. Someone said it encourages. facial hair, no big deal , thanks to PCOS, which should be sleeping. because of my age, I have had facial hair since 27, so I need now to shave or pluck more often? At least I will have enough hair to comb instead of arranging with a damp washcloth!💦

Unhuh and I am a month further out. GOOD news, I have lost over 37.6 pounds since the end of July, over 23 punds in the 6 weeks past surgery. Post yesterday's E.D.J. because I am a bypasser, can't get to my duodenum anymore, I have a stricture, 5 new ulcers, none bleeding yet, am stuck on a modified Stage 2 diet for at least 2 more weeks, and can't add any new foods. Now on Carafate & omeprazole along with vitamins and minerals. Best of the murky waters,i did not experience any stall yet, I just keep losing. Should have read the manual better, I could swear this is NOT THE ARMY I VOLUNTEERED FOR! Frustr8 the semi-great

SEPTEMBER 2018 SURGERIES AND SUCCESS
Frustr8 replied to Frustr8's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yep, she measured it at 9cm and misshapen, yes I have another E.D.J. coming up in 2 weeks, maybe less and she hopes the inflammation has subsided, the 5 new ulcers have shrunk down or, I hope, I hope, disappeared, and she can dialate it further she dialated as far as she felt safe yesterday, but it looks like I will be a 2 or 3 time dialator at this point. Could it have been predicted? Only in the fact I already had an ulcer, Hector, the one I got from excessive NSAID use. Maybe I'm Being mean but I think that should alerted them. After all, if I have ulcers they don't feel a thing, but I DO! -

Well 39 days since September 5th, go look on September 2018 Surgeries and Success and see how I am going. More twists and turns than a soap opera. Wonder if I could get on Netflix with Frustr8#s Follies? Oh well, it was just a thought! -
SEPTEMBER 2018 SURGERIES AND SUCCESS
Frustr8 replied to Frustr8's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
And another update f4om yours truly. Well I had my EGD, although since I am a bypass, it would be more factual to call it an EDJ, my duodenum is not accessible but my jejunem sure is. News Flash, we'll News Sputter because I have been suspecting IT all along, I do have a stricture, it is not all post-surgical swelling as many N.P. staff members of my Bauatric team were hoping. And alas Hector my itty bitty gastric ulcer now has 5 step siblings in my pouch and just past my stoma in the UK. What to do? Well, I do stay on what I call my Stage 2A diet, broths , strained and gently creamy soups, do not delete my protein shakes, try to protein enrich where I can and carry on valiantly. We have upped the omeprazole to b.I.d. (twice daily) I can add runny mashed potatoes as long as I have stirred protein powder in, keep looking on Stage 2 sheet to see if there is anymore things I can runnyfiy ( don't think that's a real word) keep on with my vitamins and minerals, because they and protein are going to kee0 me healthy. By took or crook keep the old Poo Factory going, this is difficult, "Nothing much in, Nothing much out" but Miralax b.I.d. M9M as needed but try for minimum of 3 times weekly And we have now added in. Carafate 6am- noon- 6pm-midnightm Since it comes in 💊, we'll more like an oval small horse size, pour boiling water ove it in my little shot glass, stir the slurry and when it is cool enough, chug gently down. Has little flavor,I think it tastes like wheat flour. Plenty of fluids, go and sin no more, don't torment Precious Pouch with new foods, especially meats and resign yourself to a repeat EDJ in 2 weeks, we will call with a time, thank you very much. And by the way, congratulations on your weight loss, nice meeting you and see you in 2 weeks if not sooner. I'm glad I didn't cancel, not sure what k8nd of shape I might have been in if I had. And down the trail, I'm sure I'll look back and this will seem just a " BLIP" but it is rocky enough living it. Keep the Good Wishes coming, I Will Make It through It All!😛❤ -
November 27th bypassers out there
Frustr8 replied to zueschoco1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And I did the entire month of August, I did have NASH but I also wanted to give myself the very best chance for success. Lost 15 pounds then, have lost another 22.5 since my September 5th surgery. And if I can do it, most everybody can, I have a natural BMR of a sick sea slug, never could lose and keep off very long. And if you need a cheerleader on your struggle, I am available. See I did this all at the age of 72, be 73 the Day after Christmas. So nobody else can say they are TOO OLD, I prove them wrong. -
Only thing I can see and it's probably grasping at straws, condensed soups are notoriously high in Na also known as Sodium, an Fluid-Bloater of the first water. FYI fun fact , after being on sodium, low fat, lie-cal, high protein diet presurgery, they had piggy back sodium on top of normal saline because I was deficient, who would have thought?

The process to get to surgery
Frustr8 replied to TheMarine79's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
A few have only 3 months, but not too frequent. I know it seems like it drags but you really need the time to study, get your head together and prepare. It is a life changes and alterations. But I have worked and endured, actually took me over 3 years but THATS another story, only 5 months with D4 Needleman and I am securely on Team Kangaroo (because We All Have Pouches) and proud to be there! -
Couping With Tight Days Pouch Days...

Thanks Everybody, waiting on my ride to show up. She's an old friend, kind of a humorous story, she was my friend before I found out she and my late husband dated and were quite an item in high school. Kay paid me quite a compliment a while back , she said "If I wasn't going to marry Johnny I can't think of a finer person for h8m to marry and spend his l8fe with!" And I confess I melted and started 😢 crying. You seem I sometimes wondered after he died, maybe he COULD HAVE done better. It was like a blessing when she said THAT. She is a scoosh older, 75 to my 72, we both need a cane at times, but still pretty tough 🐣chicks. And if it is possible to have fun heading to a hospital, I bet we will. We have other mutal friends, we'll probably, discuss them too. -

Eating alas is the issue, I tried an one-inch chunk of ripe 🍌 Wednesday, a few minutes,to get it in and a hour-and- half urping, burping and vomiting. Not worth it, I am so tired of it all, strained, soups, broths, protein skakes, water and no calorie drinks. And my taste buds aren't the same either. When. I was shopping at Wal-Mart I mentioned to my Son I used to buy Lipton Diet citrus green tea at lunchtime, we bought some and I cannot abide the stuff now. Pitched one,in the trash today. So I get discouraged, all the others that were our surgery twins are far,far ahead. I told,Tomkitten at first I wanted steak, either peas and new potatoes and pearl onion. Now what I would like, teriyaki fried tofu. Take my tofu, drain and dry it off and then saute it in Kikkomon soy sauce , mmaybe throw in some finely sliced green onion and sliced mushrooms, but just the tofu and teriyaki sauce would please me. And what I couldn't eat right away. I can store in my Rubbermaid orTupperware. And am I lactose intolerant? Don't think So but I have thrown up Greek yogurt and I do cottage every time I have tried it, and I used to eat it all the time pre-surgery,.💦 -
And I sure hope they do, so many think more of profits than people. You would think they would realize,WLS is not something you consider lightly. Sure a bundle of,their money, but it takes a strong commitment,on your part to work towards it.

Frustr8 replied to Ed_NW's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And your reflexive feeling , if something hurts or makes you v uncomfortable you try to get away from it. Has nothing to do with thinking processes, bless your Daddy's❤, he was doing only what felt right to him! -
I disliked the one I had before when I was asked How Long I had hated my Mama? Never said I did, why would you ask such a thing_ Wished I had said something witty l8je" I will forgive you for asking such a question if you will forgive me for not answering!" But they was a former attempt in another plan. This time in April I had a wonderful psych appointment with a staff member of that departments Dr Kramer, and we actually became friends , he is still monitoring my case and if I ever need consouling again, I have only to call him, gave me his card. Super, super person! That person, using the term loosely, was someone they contracted in, and I can only hope they terminated her contract, a real piece of work, not worth the powder to blow her up. I usually am kind, sweet tempered but if I ever saw her in passinf, she better move fast because the lighter I get, the quicker I will be on my feet.!👊😛💢

Green Tealael, 37,5 pounds since the end of July & 22.5 since my surgery. Futuresleevie18 RNY-gasric bypass the 2nd most restrictive/ malabsob. of the gastric surgeries but considered the Gold Standard of them all. a For me, going on 73 it should be One and Done. NPO- nothing by mouth, the original Latin "Nil Per Ostium" EGD another long winded discription. Esophageal-gastric- duodenal, means while sedated/asleep they put a fiber optic tube down, through my mouth, examine my swalloing tube, the esophagus, then my stomach, gastric then usually the upper small intestine, the duodenum. But in my case, unless you go around corners and back upstream you can't get to the duodenum anymore so it should be EDJ,because what is fastened to my stomach pouch is the second part of my small intestine, the jejunem. I had a portion of my small intestine bypassed, maybe 40 inches, shorter gastric track, fewer calories absorbed and I lose weight. Good for me, I have 2 arificial knees, had arthritis since 25, every pound of excess weight is 4 pounds of stress on your legs and knees, too late to save my natural knees but perhaps I won't have to have my hips replaced, suffer a ❤attack, cardiac runs in my family along with kidney, diabetes and lung, so now I can preserve the function until I die and no longer need them!👈😛👉
