    Pre-Op Diet Emotions

PCP is less than 50 years old, mouthy little whelp! Oh well, he does have his uses at times! But I do call him" Junior" to his face when he gets ornery . Tomkitten (my son) calls him "Speedy Gonzales" because he zooms in and out of rooms like the cartoon mouse!
  2. Well I took my MoM , had results last evening , painful, everything still soft but in one giant lump right inside the hole. Like my colon muscles forget how to work naturally. Oh maybe if. I add solids someday. it will start working right again?

Glitter Godess my favorite word from You can't take it with you! "Keck" was in it myself years back, maybe even played the same part!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

No you will NOT DIE! I have had anesthesia probably 10 times in 5 years, I'm 72, if it was going to "do somebody in", I'm a much stronger candidate than you'll ever be. And it's so much nicer, easier and doesn't leave you sick enough to pray for death like the Bad Old Days did! Been there, done that and had it done to ME.My RNY anesthesia was SMOOTH, first I had the coolest A, his name was Dave, my surgeon brought all the main players to my room for an introduction, real benefit to being 1st surgery of the Day. Think before I was taken back, while he was patting my hand he might have slipped some Happy Juice in my IV. At any rate I rode like Queen ElIzabethII IN her Golden State Carriage up to the O.R. Super warm, super comfy. Now I had heard horror stories about how the room is cold-Nope, how they make you transfer to the table, stretch your arms out like you're being crucified before you go to sleep-Nope, treat you like you're a piece of meat-Nope. Let me share how it was for me, okay? First I felt totally like I was a Rock 🌟 star, everybody was there for ME. My surgeon had joked he would wave at me, see I was operated upon at Ohio State University, a teaching hospital , many people fear they will end up in the quaking hands of a student. So Dr Needleman😷 waved from his position maybe 8 feet away. I was not abandoned in that big room with all strangers! I slid myself over on the table, they offered their help but this was something. Frustr8 could DO. And this was the 1st operating table I fit on, always feared falling off into the floor. Dave made sure I was nicely tucked in, didn't feel claustrophobic, just incredibly comforted. Then Dave, gosh he had the prettiest 👀 eyes, even with a 😷mask! He said. OK,Are you comfortable? I said, "why yes I believe I am", next thing I knew I was in my patient room, feeling so good I had to lift my gown and make sure they HAD DONE SURGERY ON ME! And I bet yours wIll be just as fine. So no panic, fears or tears, You gonna be Just Fine!😝😎😝
  6. Well got up nauseous, took my Zofran, when tummy settled tried a 1/4 cup 1% cottage cheese I need the protein although my pouch really only desires liquids like cream soups and protein shakes. Fought it to where I think it is staying down, and now my ulcers are whining, almost time for my Noon Carafate. Am I starving? Pretty sure I am, malabsorbing the whole 9 yards. But I have lost 64 pounds, a little under 30 kg, since 31st July. I just am not always certain that the trade-off was totally in my best long-term interests.
  7. look up the thread for " Surgery- it's the Easy way out" people have been saying it for eons, wasn't True then, not True now! Baby it is HARD. See most people's bodies are perfectly happy you're FAT/OBESE. They are bebopping along, plenty of high-calorie tasty foods coming in, one burp of appetite and you are eating once again. Things, Body Says, are just fine and Dandy. And then you go , rocking and shocking it to the foundations, and your body tries to fight back. Say it isn't so, Joe, you're not going to STARVE ME, are you? Well in a stucturalized way, YOU ARE, and it is like riding an untamed bronco at times. Oh you may despair of having ever a smooth gaited Tennessee Walking 🐎, shoot I do myself still. Been through numerous fad diets, a presurgery liver-shrinking diet and a bumpy after-surgery trek that hasn't concluded yet. My personal diet 🐎 horse, people think I have it tamed already, well it still harbors a latent desire to "buck" me off and leave me still sitting in the middle of the corral on my rump in the dust! One of our service groups motto is Eternal Vigilance, and that holds true for Weight Loss in its various forms. Never get complacent, it's a long drawn out process. Someday YOU TOO will reach your weight loss goal and go into " maintance", just saw a posting from a veteran, pounds were trying to return and she stated what she is doing to keep 5-10 pounds from sneaking back. Oh I would 💓to be her size and weight but I now see it still won't be EASY! But keep your face toward the🌞 Sunshine it's there for us all!🌈

    Nexium vs. Prilosec

Means you dodged that "bullet" , lucky 🐭🐱YOU! Although Prilosec is E.Release, it's just the nature of the beast, your doctor feels the benefit outweighed the detriment. Envy you the liquid Carafate, I'm a Medicare/Medicaid, yeah no out of pocket max, I do have copays or items Silver Scripts refuses to cover. Just surprised they are covering as many over $300 retail drugs as they are. PCP wanted me on a drug a while back with no Generic, what an uphill battle that was! Had to prove a cheaper and similar would not do me better. Every time I get peeved I think back 40 years. Conneticut General Insurance sent Late Lamented and I a letter on their corporate letterhead. " We believe pregnancy to be an avoidable disease, we feel it would not be in our best interest to honor Maternity Coverage on your policy." Disease,Ha Ha, that health condition grew up to become my beloved Tomkitten, one of the most beautiful facets of my existance. I loved him then, I love him still, maybe not perfect but CLOSE ENOUGH for ME! 😝&👨
  9. The 135 one, there's hope for a shining bright future showing. Does anyone else feel like their skin is dry, leathery and never to feel smooth and supple again? Losing weight, fat and natural moistures, is THIS the price we all pay? I would dump Avon Skin So Soft on ME but then I would hollering for help out of the bathtub so I don't fall with the slippery-ness.
  10. What I did early on ( post 11weeks) 1/2 cup or so premier protein water, equal amount minute maid 15 fruit punch then fill container up with chilled water. Sip sip sip and enjoy. Also a life-saver for me sugar free tropical POPSICLES, you see I am not typical, most my distance out from surgery are on soft foods in small portions. Not me. I have a stricture, 5 small but potentially deadly after-surgery g.I. ulcers, 2 in my stomal pouch, 3 on the back wall of my jejunem, the 2nd intestinal portion of my,g.I. anatomy, so I am on still liquids. Every 2 weeks an attempt is made to dialate my opening but I still remain stenosis and strictured. My dates (so far) October 12, October 26, November 9, and this coming Wednesday November 28.,Mama ( may she rest in peace) always felt I was above- average, but never normal? IDK but I just keep on keeping on and with hope in my 💓😎😝

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Congratulations and best wishes for your upcoming surgery from one of the oldest chronologically but younger than Springtime in my ❤. Was Bypassed 11 weeks ago today, my recovery not stellar, my road bumpy⚠ with temporary 🚧pitfalls, but would NEVER go back to my BEFORE and my days now are future 🌞sunlight, starlight sparkles🌟 and 🌈rainbows. Even Gloomy days⛅⚡☔ cannot last forever!

Well there are many DS, Sips, Omega Loop veterans now on here. Pretty sure Shaun or another will see your post and answer. I kinda forget some of the other DS people's names but it sounds like that will be what you're getting. At any rate, Much Good Luck to YOU=

    Endoscopic dilation - stenosis

Wonderful for you BlueGirl216, I am glad it worked and worked well for YOU! If endoscopy was 💰 money I would be a wealthy woman. 3 EGJ, another scheduled next Wednesday November 28th and I still haven't been repaired. Been,on glorified liquid diet for 11 weeks, have lost 64 pounds since the end of July, so 45 since my surgery. Hope I can follow in your WL pathway and that things will balance out in the long run!!!

    Stressed and WAITING!!!!

And my original Mantra RNY IN JULY OR I CRY turned into HOW WARM AND TENDER TO FINALLY BYPASSED IN SEPTEMBER! And on September 5th 2018 at 7 AM - EDT my stomach was rearranged, a new chapter, all bright and shining, ready to be written occured. HAPPY SURGIBIRTHDAY TO ME! And my dreams of over 3 years finally came true. As I write this 11 weeks have passed, was it smooth? Started out that way, the birds🐦were singing, there were rainbows 🌈in the sky, then an sensation of non-perfection started. After 2-3 weeks of me saying "Something is NOT right" probably,to hush my mouth- a futile undertaking- Many have tried and died- an endoscopy was done on October 12th- who was right? ME ME ME! I am now the unproud stepmama to an stomal stricture and 5 evil-looking ulcers. Every 2 weeks Dr Noria, my surgeon's Junior Partner and whose speciality/ joyful hobby is endoscopy, attempts to stretch the stoma out to normal dimensions, every time Precious Pouch and her 5 evil ulcerative friends resist. October 12, 26, November 9th and next Wednesday November 28, .P.P. stickes out her virtual tongue👅 and says "YOU CAN'T TOUCH ME AND I DON'T WANT TO BEHAVE! But Dr Noria is strong-willed, brave and skillful, and she vows her will shall prevail. I hope she is right but my money is on Team Stricture as they scored first!

    Starving or Nausea!

Keep drinking, someone on here said, We may feel it,is something else, but,it usually is nearly being dehydrated. So try that first, keep your urine a pale yellow and you will know you're getting enough,,i

    New addiction instead of food???

Hey can I take 2 from Column A or do I need to embrace all 3? Drinking- bad for a bari-patient, we get drunk quicker, not sure I have enough loose capital for gambling but sex, hmmn, fun, can be done at home,or away, doesn't. necessitate a crowd or membership cards. No clothing styles or uniforms, in fact, clothing largely optional. So a vice I could grow to enjoy, okay where are YOU SIGNING UP PEOPLE? Please let us all know.😝🚩🎪

    Stressed and WAITING!!!!

I have a side challenge or query Folks. Drug out this 4-5 month old for its heading, okay? HOW DO YOU SHOW STRESS? Mine is that I chew my lips, anyone who knows me notices it, last time my friend said "Frustr8, what are you upset about?" So do you break out in a rash? Had a cousin who would play with and twist the end of her hair on the left side. So tell me----What do YOU DO?

    Only 3lbs down since surgery

Hey @ Missouri-Lees summit, just saw on Google someone is saying a high calorie low protein diet promotes healthy brain aging. Maybe I am bound to be thin and witless, everybody be kind as I sit there drooling. You'll find me over there in the fits one size chair, won't need the WIDE SEAT anymore!
  25. Turkey worries me ever since Kashoggi got murdered. I'm sure your surgical hospital will be fine, but please don't go to anyone's embassies. Don't want to lose my new friend Kelly before I can hear more of her story!
