Pregnant I might have been able to laugh off, I'm 72. Had a little kid ask me "Are you fat or are you a woman? If his mama wasn't near I might have suggested he go play in traffic, but wouldn't 've able to live with, myself if that happened. Maybe he just didn't have" no upbringin' " as my grandma would say. -
Just wanted to share some results
Frustr8 replied to deargh's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
And I am proud to see your success, every pound I lose I get a little less shy about picture taking, maybe sometime after the 1st of 2019 I get brave enough to show,my changes. Now my belly is starting to look like a deflated balloon, you know when the rubber looks misshapen and bulgy, but every pound I lose strenghtens my resolve to keep on. Sometime between September 2019 and March 2020, I am going to look like dynamite, so 🌏 don't wet my fuse so that I sputter. I want a chance to Kaboom with the best! -

not missing, missing each, other, a novelty in the navel.

Pain, almost non-existent. Tomkitten , my son and heir to my minute fortune, who stayed with me states they did put it in my IV, they kept ahead of it so well I didn't have to ask for it. He says it was a blessing we didn't have visitors, I kept lifting my gown and. gazing at my tum-tum. Not blown up, if I had been they pumped it off before I left, the OR. No gas to walk off, although they kept me on IVs and EKG monitors and I basically,on "room arrest". maybe to lessen the likelihood of falling?,I had to ask for very little. Never did have what consitutes a meal, no jello, no broth, they kept me well supplied with liquids. And although I did take my cpap, I forgot one piece,of tubing, try as they may respiratory couldn't fing a matching piece so that might be why I stayed on 02 as well. But never uncomfortable, had 7 incisions, all criss-crossed with Sheri-strips except the one in my navel. 2 small, one a little bigger on the right, bypassers big one on right, that's where the staplers and equipment that counts goes in, deeper, if anyone is sorer that's it, last to heal. 1 at the bottom of my sternum , between my boobs. 2 on the left and the 1 in my navel. I had a tubal ligation scar in the bottom,of my navel so Dr Needleman put his in the top. While it was still swollen it looked like they were missing. And if you are a sleever, your big deep incision is on the left, it's where they pull your stomach remnant across and out to throw it away. In theory, bypaaers can be reconnected although they seldom are . Only one,i know of currently is @ronnysgal, she had much complications and it was done to restore her health, she was a very very special case. So yes, it is possible just not probable. Takes super super-skill to rejoin it all, few surgeons will attempt it. Actually I have much more pain now with my 5 ulcers and stomal stricture than I ever did in early recovery, but Dr Noria swears it is repairable. Getting tired of going every 2 weeks for my EGJ endoscopy but each time I hope it will be the last. Dates so far 10/12.10/26.11/09 and next Wednesday 11/28. because Dr Noria took a little Thanksgiving holiday. So if you have prayers or Good Wishes to spare, send them my way!

Sleeve or Bypass... help!
Frustr8 replied to Alexandro's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some sleevers manage to not worsen their Gerd, many do not. I had gastritis, Gerdn for those and other reasons I went with RNY. N9w I am one of the few who stenosis/strictured, despite what you see on here it is still rare, fixable, and giving 75% of my stomach away to the medical trash would have not been of benefit to me. Join me in Club Bypass, I had a 1st cousin die of esophageal cancer, it is a painful, not pretty way to go! 2 and half years and I still miss her so much! -
And I am teetering on the brink myself, still morbid this week, by December 10thi could be merely obese. This is the only place where being merely obese is a compliment and overweight is a goal. A little skewed but look where we may have come from!😝✊😝
-
Here's my stats July 31st 335 pounds November 19th 272 pounds Time elapsed since RNY surgery 11 weeks With 50 pounds in 7 weeks you're at a fine rate, and you're a sleeve, they traditionally are slower losing. Stop sweating the small stuff! Sure I would like to be at my goal of 175 pounds, but it won't happen for a year to 18 months, in the, meantime I can't give up and neither should you!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING USA FOLKS
Frustr8 replied to Kay07's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well I'm getting brave for Thanksgiving, 2 oz well-steamed tilapia, eaten with my mini-fork slowly, let us now say a prayer for good intentions. How else am I going to make 90 grams protein a day? Back before W-M snit fit,of ordering that could be 3 peaches and cream protein shakes, think that I might have done. Now vanilla, cloying vanilla is my only option. Not going well, wanted to,put it in coffee but 5 ulcers make even decaff problematic. Been scooping everything with Genpro, until i get more cash that's what I have. December will be better, no more moving expenses coming out, so won't be wealthy but maybe more than the $4 until the 3rd I have Now. No more pawning, listen to our local buy-sell-barter radio show faithfully weekdays at 9AM, come to conclusion what I have in possessions only means something to me, no marketable value. Even put on my kerosene heater, was going to sacrifice it for a third of actual value and still didn't have anyone interested. It's getting cold in Ohio and not ONE call. I will not give it away free, maybe what they're waiting for? I needed the cash,to stretch things out. Bad when you have to count,to see if you'll make it back and forth from next doctor. Mama didn't raise me to be so poor, she thought I was bound for a well-to-do life, maybe a blessing, she's dead, this would about kill her. -

Think so, gosh I miss being on horseback, just think someday I will be on palominos, appaloosas, paints, no more "I think we have a plowhorse stables at the back, that's even worse then a Morgan for the spirit. Did you know Dan Blocker €Hoss) in Bonanza rode a Morgan? Pretty one, marked similar to what the others rode but much wider, stronger haunches. Just a little Thanksgiving FYI for you!🐎 -
It's twoferville, down from 3- how much did You Say-town and ahead for GettinSkinnywithit and me, the Wonderous country of Onederland, where we dream to go! I would say at 272 I may get there first but you understand, with my reckless plummet with stenosis/stricture, I have yet to have a stall! Tain't average, Tain't normal but My Day will come when I stall like everyone else and coming 😢 crying Help Proudgrammy, what did I do wrong? And as I sat there weeping and crying , MS Skinnywithit will zoom on by. But the important thing, We Both Gonna Get There and, you'll be So Proud!

Has anyone used & tasted the califliweted based stuffing from the frozen foods? Might serve it with my Thanksgiving Chicken. Only 2 in family, regarded as too small for turkey-dom, by food pantries. Whatever! Grateful for supplies I got, didn't have many after evil Ex Landlord locked me out and kept everything. Hope Karma bites him big and hard where. 🌞don't shine & that St Peter has a trap-door when he tries to Enter Heaven! 1-2-3, Bye Felicia! And I'll wave as He Flies BY! LOL & SYR(serves you right#)

Great Article/Blog Post: Deadly Mistakes With WLS Than Can Ruin Your Life
Frustr8 replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Morbid Obesity does not cure loneliness Fat does not insulate you from the world and its hurtful people Morbid Obesity does not l9ve you nor does i5 engender love in others Morbid Obesity blinds others to Your Needs, Deafens them to your pleas for help Morbid Obesity is more evil than any Wicked Stepmother, it makes you an "it" instead of a "someone" And given the chance, Morbid Obesity will strangle your life, if not outright killing you, contributing to your death. WILL you be remembered for the Good Things you did? No, it will be " Too Bad about Harriet, she was SO FAT! Is this the epitaph YOU WANT? Ditch Her as soon as you can, as young as you can, for Old and Obese is a Sad Sad Place to abide. Ask Me, I Know Only Too Well. -
Marginal/anastomotic ulcer anyone?
Frustr8 replied to eudys3's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Well Sit quietly and loosen it. Pain go away? As days go by, it will lessen. Away , well that I myself am not privy to. Precious Pouch sits in my chest like a little angry clenched fist, between her and her gastric/intestinal ulcer sidekicks, all 5 of them, at 11 weeks still not pain free. And it gets tedious for me, but I have not given up hope, I still believe in healing, no matter how many endoscopic interventions my Dr Noria has to do, I like her,i trust her, she is a wonderful surgeon as well as endoscopist, endoscopy is her "bang zone" something she enjoys the challenge of, but she is a Bariatric and Gastrointestinal Surgeon foremost, if she and my bypass surgeon, Bradley J Needleman MD felt I would be better served by an Open intervention I would be in their OR before I could hum the first 6 bars of Buckeye Battle Cry. And I suspect, they would scrub in together, I have become important to them both, and they both want my mystery solved. Wednesday November 28th will be my 4th at OSU, 6th lifetime, and little by little I move toward resolution of Stricture, Ulcer abatement and a pain-free or pain-deminished recovery Trying to remain placid, confident, accepting, but ,I too, shake my fist and rage at it all! -
Every step toward Better Health makes You a Better Person! I never had to eliminate tobacco, never smoked, but watched Late Lamented try weaning himself away, might work for a while, but new stressor, back he'd go. And at the end, when he knew he was dying and I and the rest of our family didn't, he made NO ATTEMPT TO STOP. His life, but no consideration for how we might feel, he broke Tomkitten's 💓, bad. enough to hurt me but he never should have hurt our son, who thought the 🌞rose every morn8ng with His Help! That after 6 and half years, hard to understand, harder to forgive. Never realized His Self-centeredness until then! 💦Sorry, This was supposed to be a HAPPY DAY!

To Chew or Not to Chew (vitamins)
Frustr8 replied to lulu06's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And I am Happy Happy Happy with my Spring Valley Prenatal from Wal-Mart, reasonable price, not large sized, Just 1. a day. Beats those nasty flavored twice daily dudes, half of them don't have iron and the other minor goodies. Sure I get weird looks in the vitamin aisle, but how do they know I don't have a pregnant grand-daughter or great grand-daughter?, I am THAT AGE! -

Isn't it nice not to have your taste buds dulled? Granted some things have a different taste, but at least they are not all dead!

You need a card like many hospitals and facilities give out. I despaired, but of all places ,mine is on the rear of my dieticians business card. States I am encouraged to choose from items on children's or Senior citizen menus as, due to surgical intervention, I now have a greatly reduced stomach capicity, and may I have a take-home box where applicable.😝😁😝
