And by Golly I got my surgery and am trying very hard to heal, Buster! Keep raining⚡☁⚡ on MY Parade and I'm going to bust your☔ umberella÷!!

I have a rant/complaint. This is December 5th, yeah less than 3 weeks until Christmas and I'm not sleeping. Just saw an Aldi commercial on TV for the eleventeenth time. Now Aldi' s is a nice enough place, have shopped there and saved money. And this advert is saying Food=Love. How many of us found ourselves heading to Bariatric Surgery for this reason? It is difficult to recover from alcohol addiction, rougher yet to recover from drugs, but when you are a "foodaholic: it is a life-long trial to become fast-food, high calorie SOBER. And it could have gone back to the 3 bags of Aldi chocolate chips YOU THOUGHT would make you a BETTER personmvNews Flash, They didn't!😧😪😧

Protein on the liquid diet
Frustr8 replied to Jed J's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And since raw egg could have foodie "bad things" until cooked, I would not risk that. Sure Rocky did it, but he could afford Cedars of Sinai, can you? -
Praying🙏 everything goes well for you. And no pain and sorrow in the days ahead.
-
You are a blessing to meet on here. I shall remember this wisdom and will remember to make compassion part of my attitude from this day forward.

What was everyone's first puree ?
Frustr8 replied to theresahyatt19's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
butternut squash soup, i cou,t it as first thing I didn't strain. And it was Campbell's Yes or Progresso lite, can't remember which. Anyhoo it was So Very smooth, tasty and blessing from the stacks of protein shakes I had before that. Took it slow with my baby spoon, and kept it down. -
Most protein waters are clear so okay. But you may want to dilute half-strength, they do taste maxi-sweet!
-
Try instead of cups,mini-cups, a teaspoon slowly at a time. Sometimes Crystal lite, Imo or another gentle flavor over straight water. I had my best luck with weak herbal tea that was warm. And I will be 3 months/13 weeks from my own RnY tomorrow ,still prone to vomiting et all. You see I have the dubious honor of being one of less than 5% that have it as rocky as I have had. I developed a stomal stricture and 5 post-surg ulcers, but with my surgeons help and my own inner strength I am and will be healing. And I do not regret or malign my surgery. A little more than 1 year ago I was 100 pounds heavier, in pain and no much of a future ahead. Although I do heal slowly, at 72 you often do, I will heal, reach my goal weight, be much smaller, but the 2 most important facets. I will be alive and have a much better future. I'm almost always on here and I ❤ helping others along the way!👸😛👼

I agree with you on this, maybe since I am at the older range of posters. There is too much sorrow, too much weight bashing we need to show ❤. Not one Man Jack leaves this mortal coil alive, let's show kindness to each other while we are here!👫👬👭

Praying🙏 much success will come for you, please keep us updated.👼

You hope something like Norco will touch it, I am an RnY who also has Tramadol in reserve. Does not work for every body but does for me. Have majority of the bottle. still left, haven't had that major pain, otherwise hot water bottles, heating pads and rage against life's injustices. My original ulcer was from NSAIDS. I have reconstructed what happened in my mind. See I also have a slight % of COPD, often have mucus down in my lungs. To handle that my Primary Doctor prescribed a demulcent, helped lungs clear up and out but also destroyed the protective mucus layer in my stomach.Okay, bad enough but also I have been arthritic since 25, bad enough both knees have been replaced, while I was dragging around 365 pounds of blobby blobby flesh, I was having LOT OF PAIN. Didn't consider all the ramifications, so PCP said 4 Advil each 4 hours for pain flares. Down go the Advil, there sits my largely naked stomach and Chomp Chomp like Pac-Man the NSAID starts taking chemical chomps until I had Gastritis and Hector my original ulcer. I was on Omeprazole(Prilosec) but it still happened. Now I am happy to say I weigh over a 100 pounds less, and that was only Autumn of 2017. My gastroenterologist had put me on Dexilent, kept things quiet,Hector went back to sleep. Then Bariatric Surgery happened. Apparently among their post-surgery protocols is omeprazole administration, oh I did protest, tried telling them it is not gastroprotective for ME. Did they listen? Of course not, said I had to take it anyway, why not take 2 doses,if something doesn't work, why take twice as much? At my 2 week post-surgical follow up, I stated There is SOMETHING WRONG! And once again my complaint got ignored. But I kept whining each and every chance I got. Finally( and my guess was to shut ME up) an endoscopy was scheduled at 1 month, 5 days, October 12th 2018 and guess who was right? ME ME ME. Score Frustr8 Ulcers 5 Medical staff 0. A stomal stricture, 2 ulcers within the pouch, 3 on the back wall of the jejunem, all angry-looking threatening critters, would rather bleed than heal. More endoscopies on October 26, November 9 and November 28. And ulcers show signs of healing, stricture No plan to resolve without continual interventions by Dr Noria. She is my Surgeon, Dr Needleman's partner and uber-smart herself and she. ❤doing endoscopies, you might say it's her " bang zone" along with Bariatric and General surgery. And actually I believe that I can be fixed yet.

Anyone NOT taking their vitamins?
Frustr8 replied to sleeveme7781's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
And also listen to Auntie Frustr8,keep your protein levels up! On 6th day of hospitalization, didn't have enough by mouth, I wasn't healing, especially my ulcers, I have now a PICC line and will be dismissed with it, have been on TPN for the past 3 days and nights to get me up where I belong, will go home today if discharges are approved by Medicare and Ohio Medicaid, 3/4 packed but can't finish until I know for sure! Doctor said TODAY,nurses think tomorrow, ME I just don't know! We definitely got to all get on the SAME PAGE! -
boobs not boon, although a boon is rather a gift!

Wonder they didn't demand an Mammo from me with everything else, had one every year, delayed this year's because I was centered in on RnY or Bust a Gusset Trying, so actually waited until October, that's Breast Cancer Month so I got a tote bag of goodies and coupons for vitamins and a Lemon Bariatric Bar. Made the boon squeezing almost fun!👸👍😛

And in that vein, many complain about family members especially adult children not understanding why Mom thinks she needs to do This. I had a son who died 11 years next month at the age of 31. I wish every day my Kevin could have seen me make a success of Bariatric Surgery because he would have been So Proud. And he would have been a Great Supporter, his little brother the Tomkitten is great support, but I often wonder why I couldn't have both my boys in my corner at this point in life. And the doctor who allowed his death, because he was not medically compentant. to intervene is still practicing medicine with great impunity. And I do rage at the unfairness of it all!😭😪😥😧 -
Every time I see Tallahassee I think of Feddie "Boom Boom" Cannon' s Song Tallahassee Lassie. Showing I'm older than dirt, aren't I but music has always been a part of my life. But I know Tallahassee is your state capital, well today I am in my state capital , Columbus Ohio. Had a big blip and road breakdown, so been here in the same hospital I had my surgery in since last Wednesday, if loose ends get all tied up I'm 85% likely to be released yet today. Home Health because I will need skilled nurse to help me each evening with my TPN bags, S9cial Services and Discharge Planning , then to coordinate my trip to my home city Mount Vernon, 48 miles away.Came down for an ambulatory surgery appt and doctor consult, like Topsy it JUST GREW and now I am wanting to be freed.😷🚘😛

Could be slower, could be sustained longer, but at 50+.60+70+ we are no longer required to be sprinters, besides in bifocals it's hard to run anyway. I plan to be a successful 🐢 turtle one foot in front,of the other🐾easing down the path to Good Health. Own Roadway Own rate of Speed Own Life to Live Own Victory to win And I am going to do it, wave as I amble by, cause you will see me THERE😛🐢😛

1 week post op GBP help question
Frustr8 replied to Susieclues's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
And advice from a sadder and wiser new-vet. Keep your protein count up, you won't heal well without it. Here I sit at OSU-Wexner Medical center where I have been a guest since Wednesday November 28. I have a stomal stricture and ulcerstions in my pouch (I am. RNY) and jejunem, 2nd small intestine segments used in my bypass, I couldn't sustain healing on my liquid P.O .diet, so I have a PICC LINE and am receiving T.P.N. FLUID THROUGH the PICC line in my upper left arm. Don't worry, I am a rather special case, less than 5% bypassers and fewer yet sleeves have this trial. More likely Donal J Trump will pay you a house call to state he's giving up Twitter. Yeah but you could enhance S.F. Jello with unflavored protein powder to up protein count. All those things are a good start but need a little more to them. A very good. resource thread you were given. This battle is not always easy but when YOU DO WIN the war it is so so good! -

Take joy. in the fact you will go from being built like a rock to being a rock 🌟 star! Pretty doggone good trade-off! -
My theory as well as many others. As you lose weight there have been hormones and othernasties trapped in that fat, as your body starts using fat instead of food calories for fuel all of them get released into your body, and as they flood your system, confusion, sorrow, ambivalence, surface. Like puberty, but no zits, like pregnancy but no cute baby, like menopause but you're not certain it will ever end. And you are a trapeze-swinging rabid little monkey🙈🙉🙊until it all settles down! And even when you think it is complete, it can still pop up. Take me, I thought I was totally cool, them someone posted a picture of herself and surgeon just. before she went to surgery. I had me a cry-fest because I never had such a picture and now I never will. And I'm 3 months out on Wednesday- should have had my emotional act, together!

Has premier protein changed their recipe?
Frustr8 replied to Oct517's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Has anyone switched from the ready to feed to the powder form? My Wal-Mart deleted every flavor except vanilla and chocolate, chocolate allergy for 43 years, growing to loathe vanilla RTF, yeah I could order site-to-store, but when I want something , I want something. No Sams Club (23 miles distant) no Costco (30 miles) never had Amazon account, let alone Prime, and Bariatric Pal, much as I 💓them, couple days wait-time. And if I found WM disappointing, Krogers was more so÷ God I used to be a Kroger Kid, why ? They have little to offer Bariatric-friendly. Any advice to replace my (sob) deleted Premeir Protein friends. I need them or a tasty repkacement to keep protein counts sky- high🌈 Your Frustr8 Friend. -
odd but believable, "everything old is new again", think there was an old song with that as its lyrics!

drinking cold water
Frustr8 replied to raidersnation's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Try warm drinks like herbal or green teas, sometimes that might help.
