BODY, after we lose our weight we are no longer shaped like aπ¦ box, or worse a shipping crate!

My surgeon Dr Needleman summed it up pretty well ! After your surgery you will become a "Cheap Drunk" , a medicine cup of alcohol will do you,in, so It's really not worth it to you!π·

How often do you do measurements/progress pics?
Frustr8 replied to notmyname's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good frame of mind, I like it. I keep considering sending my picture in to Bariatric Pal, but I have resisted, see I was told so long I was obese, ugly and no one would want to look at me, pictures were prideful that I can't believe anyone would want to see mine. So Looly you look with "fat" eyes I guess I'm still looking with "ugly" ones. But the Fat Shell is cracking, at this point I think I still resemble my dead Mama but surely by Spring I will look younger, maybe I'll get brave then! -
And I went back to my prenatals, small, only need one a day, a little water in the mouth, toss it in and down she floats! Nice, easy and it's over until tomorrow! Loathed Flintstones taste, hated grinding pills, thought Bari-Melts weren't all that melty, felt like flavored sand in my π, a complication I did not need. Only concession I still make is dissolving my big White Carafate into a slurry in a medicine cup and drinking that.

And I was a great bread baker, maybe not at the artisan level like Green Tealael but pretty good. So now if I make any it will go to friends for Christmas, just another of the things I don't do to keep losing and getting more healthy.

Sideeye the saying is: Your mind keeps writing checks your boxy can't cash. My mind tries to tell me, you're over 3 months past surgery, YOU CAN surely eat that variety of food, but with my ulcers and pouch stenosis I really can't, and urping is NO Fun. Finally I have had to cycle back, let the TPN sustain me and only take by mouth the liquids and runny purees it can handle. And trust I will heal before long. But I was a prideful beast, I didn't have red hair for nothing. And I remember my paternal grandfather, his saying was: Them that don't listen. got to feel. My 2 bariatric doctors did give me good advice after all.πππ

And after your surgery and you need to walk, you will have an built-in exercise buddy in your pupπΆ. Center on the good things of life, you have your girls, you have your pup, consign the significant other to Hades, let them work in Satan's countinghouse where accounts never balance! You get,on with YOUR LIFE and rock,it to the top of Mount Everest and back down again. Be the Strong Survivor I k,ow you can be!π

And your body may have broke down more, yeah you do still have youth on your side but even young people can have problems. I started seeking my surgery, over 3 years before I received it, wish mine had gone quickly and I got my surgery,in 2015 or early 2016, but when I finally got it, I am a better person for it, but having trouble recovering, hard to keep ducks in a row when they have minds of their own and want to wander! But slow and steady, and,I'll make it,to the finish line. But never will I regret my surgery except I regret staying, obese through so much of my life.

Different facets of you recover at different rates, so it all depends on what portion of YOU we are addressing.
-
Yeah, I was wondering too, with all the strikes the worldπlevied against me, I STILL. got mine!
-
And may everything go super super good! Update us when the " DEED" is done and you're starting,on the Recovery Road!π

What did your hair look like when it grew back
Frustr8 replied to notmyname's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
One of my friends, I swear in my town there are only 2 others, both sleevers, said when she lost and degree it came back in wiry and looked weird with her natural curls, the other said hers came back baby fine. Does it vary, that much just like our weight losses are individual?π -
Drink down those fluids and get to feeling better soon!π¦

How often do you do measurements/progress pics?

I think I will continue doing them on the 5th of the month, since that was my surgery day. Other good times might be 1st day of each month or the day of the week, my own was also 1st Wednesday. -
You know often as we lose weight people will say " Why you look like. your own daughter, now that you have lost so much weight? I am starting to look like my own mother, who was 87 when she died! I must be doing SOMETHING wrong!πππ

Nausea after surgery...what is your experience?
Frustr8 replied to MissPoodle's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
And I had an endoscopy scheduled for December 28th with my Doctor Noria. OSU called and canceled it today. Apparently they want a good 6 weeks of TPN before they do another Look-See, so idiot have to return to Columbus until January 15th when I see Dr Needleman again. See I will be having 14 hours on, 10 hours off daily, must be doing me good? -
