And I didn't chicken out, had my RnY on September 5th, was 319 then , now about 260, had not perfect recovery but you know what? At 73 this coming Wednesday I knew I would not bounce back as quick as the 20 and 30 year olds but I am still healing, albeit slowly and for all the twists and turns in my pathway, the latest is TPN to let my beleagured pouch and jejunem heal their ulcerations, I still would not go back to my pre-surgery state, My surgeons guarantee I will heal, I will catch up and make it to my goal weight, even if it takes a year or more. And I am a stubborn lady, I'll stick it out!

And 99.99% of all of them are smooth uneventful times. Surgeries get easier with each year, a lot of advanced from ether and chloroform when I was a wee Frustr8.

Doctors who can't see beyond a patient's weight could miss other conditions

OMG I am so so sorry this happened in your life and to someone you loved so much. There is so much they disregarded as unimportant. And all because he was "obese". -
Worked one place, lamb for Easter, Turkey for Thanksgiving, Ham for Christmas. Why did I leave there? They paid pee-poor wages the rest of the time! And FYI my county is the highest sheep producer East of the Mississippi so the mutton wasn't THAT HARD to procure, and I do 💓lamb stew in the first place. Carrots, onion and potatoes, umm umm. My grandpa raised sheep so it's like Mothers Milk to me!

I did look it up, just below 27 BMI. which is legally " overweight", but currently teetering at 40 which is still ."morbo" morbidly obese. My highest BMI was >51 so I have made progress but a. considerable way to travel🚧 to Shangra La🚖!🌅
-
My dream is to be merely overweight, but my goal might still be at the bottom of obese. Forget what BMI 175 and 5ft8in is, maybe 30? Guess I should look it up, yeah.

I Was Amazed When I Heard This
Frustr8 replied to Danny Paul's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
And since my September RnY I have had meat twice. 3 tiny shreads of tender Turkey 2 weeks ago and a minimeatball of home- butchered beef a week ago. And that's it, even pureed--- my Precious Pouch repulses it adamently. So be amazed, shake your head but there are ones at the other end of the food spectrum, like ME! -
A family member brought a brussel sprout and bacon cassarole to one of our dinners, it was very good but she died before the next get together so I never did get the recipe for it.

That does happen, that's why life is a trial and error situation. I finally went to powder because Wal-Mart cut Premier Protein back to vanilla and chocolate in my town.

What did your hair look like when it grew back
Frustr8 replied to notmyname's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well mice do have short fur, cats don't always, just living up to your pen name, I'm sure we will once again be thick of fur. I worry because I am a redhead, we have fewer hairs per square inch in the first place. Hope it won't progress until I can comb it with a washcloth!👵👸👴 -
I know I have had it also, got hives from playing in the snow when I was a small Frustr8.

January surgeries?!
Frustr8 replied to jessicaalyssa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Doctors in the US and Canada push Milk of Magnesia like it was the Golden Grail. My particular Primary care loves to advise Miralax that and prednisone, a wonder I haven't developed Bushings from it. -
Smoking marijuana after rny, can we do it?
Frustr8 replied to LovelyLessy808's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I know they always say sm9king delays healing, never heard marijuana would be exempt from that.🚬 -
I wonder if some facilities pump the gas back out because I never had gas pain and my tummy was not one bit bigger than when I went in. Odd, isn't it?
