Saltines? Caught a stomach bug
Frustr8 replied to Starry*Night's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Have you tried Kaopectate? Older remedy, but might work. Usually helps firm up stool. Old country doctors(and I have known more than a few) would say you have poison in your system that needs to come out, but then none of them wiped so much their tushie and hemorrhoids got sore! -
Because it was drilled into us, only. thin to the point of scrawny people are happy, you're plump, fat or even obese, you can't be happy, even if you accept yourself as valuable, think you're very fine as a person, believe you are doing the best you can for yourself, if you can't see your ribs stickingbout, your collarbone prominate, bones don't predominate over flesh, you haven't done enough . 1 lettuce leaf spritzed with EVOO, that's enough lunch for Anyone!

Saltines? Caught a stomach bug

Or toss it back up, and THAT is no fun, take it from me , the Grand Emesis kid! -
I seem to remember glucagon somewhere in the equation. Not 5hinking on a cylinders mys3lf this morning or I would have deduced it all for myself. If Christmas was a Hard-Candy Christmas , today I feel like I have a non- alcoholic hangover, at least what others have said a hangover feels like, nauseated, headache from Hades and don't give a flying flip about much of anything. Is that describing it? Seems like just drinking something light in the Bad Old Days worked, but what works on a remodeled body like we now have? Not even weak warm decaf tea sounds good.

Endoscopy was scheduled December 28th not my birthday, but I still didn't get it! -
Marginal/anastomotic ulcer anyone?
Frustr8 replied to eudys3's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Talked to Bariatric Clinic, first they said my endoscopy on December 26th should never been canceled, Dr Needleman or Dr Noria never authorized the cancellation, in fact he wants another EGJ before my January 15th appointment so he can better formulate a new plan of care for me. Suzie the Scheduler took the rest of Christmas week for a mini- holiday vacation, I should hear something New Years Eve or January 2nd about when a space in the Endoscopy Suite and being put upon the waiting list, but it has to be done, Friday was not good day, gave Mousecat my sympathy, she and I seem to be co-sufferers, by late evening even my sips of Propel weren't staying down, dry-Heaving with my green Barfie Bag, fell asleep sitting up in my chair. Finally went to bed propped up with pillows, had to get there so my lymphedema legs, left one always been worse of them started looking edemeous. Just another reminder I'm still trying to run with 73 year old original equipment, no replacement parts being manuafactured. Hadn't been an everyday issue with weight loss, but like the Golden Old Song " ALWAYS THERE TO REMIND ME!" Oh I am sure things will eventually straighten out, don't want to go to. local ER, they don't really understand RnY bypass, I am an anomaly to them. Ok to do my blood draws, beyond that? Forget about it ! Most of the staff don't make me feel comfortable. -
Stricture or hernia...oh my
Frustr8 replied to NYJenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So @ NYJenn, what did your December 26 endoscopy show? I don't believe I ever heard, have you joined the Structure Society after all? -
Strictures with Regurgitation?
Frustr8 replied to mousecat88's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
And Friday was another another bad day, finished off by upchucking EVEN Propel water and then dry-heaving. So today start out with plain ,water, in my med cups? My lips are cracking, I take that as a not good sign? TPN is infusing, that should keep me out of total dehydration. it was a subject of pride, wanted to show my surgeons I was trying by at least something by mouth, even if it was a protein shake. But I feel like now give up trying P.O, foodstuffs of any kind, just go with the TPN flow until the New Year! Nothing appeals, nothi,g good for me, not even "sliders" like saltines and old-time" bad for me's". Will Saurday be better? I just am not sure.💦😪 -

How did you learn about surgery
Frustr8 replied to mahelpme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Seeing stars on TV that were once my size now slim and I started seeing people in their 40s and 50s doing it too, thought " Oh it's for kids my grandgirls ages" but then I started seeing it wasn't just them. Was scared to bring it up to. PCP, maybe he would think me foolish for even considering it, but my quality of life was plummeting. Said if I die, it's okay, at least I will have tried to improve myself. And he said if I really want to do it, here is who he would recommend. Pulled up the website, filled out the on-line application, figured I still would be denied, but I wasn't, and I started on my road to WLS, a journey of over 3 years. On September 5th at the age of 72 years 8 months10 days I acheived my hopes and dreams, at Ohio State University Hospital- Wexner Medical Center, I received my RnY, the oldest thus far for my surgeon, Bradley J Needleman MD, and although my recovery has had pitfalls, is going slowly, I will never regret having my surgery. I plan to thank him and make him proud, for I believe. it ultimately will be fine and he has helped me to be proud of ME and I am so much happier than I was before. My secondary goal, after I reach my Weight goal? I want to tell my success story on the website, I believe I can be a shining example to the untraditional age seekers out there. There is hope, it's not too late to make a change, invest in YOU, the rewards are worth the effort! -
If you do elect to go the ER route, look at his name badge. If they are going get that friendly you better know who they are!😷🚽

Everything tastes metallic now..
Frustr8 replied to jessintn's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Very normal and the metallic taste usually is a remnant of anesthesia . If it still remains for your first post-surg appointment you can mention it to your doctor, but I'm pretty sure I am right. -
East Tennessee as in Dollywood? Oh I'm sure there is much more to East T but that was my first thought!
