Unbearable pain on the right side under my ribs
Frustr8 replied to COL120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is exactly where I feel my jejunal ulcerations pain. I haven't had an gallbladder since February 1984,when I had this pain flare up, I was scared. I had spent the entire month of August on a liver-shrink diet, andcall I could think of was " I've damaged my liver" and since I am 1 part worrier and 1 part overactive imagination, my mind marched right into " I had bariatric surgery and I'm gonna die anyway? WTF happened to me?" But Dr Noria, my surgeon Dr Needleman's partner and the person who has done all my endoscopies there, said the right subcostal pain, that one that made me want to dig my fingers under my ribs and rip something out? Purely the ulcers in my jejunem romping and stomping, "keep the Carafate going on every six hours, and if we keep you on TPN so your beleagured GI system can rest but give you adequate protein for healing, it's my professional plan that you'll be better soon" Hasn't happened yet, want it to--! but it seems to be taking forever! Then I remember there has only been 4 months since SURGERY and maybe I had better grow some "patience" flowers in my garden of Health. I have the rest of my life to enjoy my RnY, so this a " bump" in my journey, after all! -

Nausea after surgery...what is your experience?
Frustr8 replied to MissPoodle's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
But as long as I don't try eating , the vomiting almost stops so Heal Baby Heal! -
Mine is that my pouch opening has shrunk down to a very small state and nothing but liquids can get through. How to prevent them ? Doubt if there is a definitive answer, in theory if you take your omeprazole and other PPI you won't develop what I have the stricture and multiple ulcers. I tried to explain, for me, omeprazole is not gastroprotective, I was on that therapy when my gastroenterologist Dr Mujtaba found gastritis and Hector, my original little ulcer, in December 2017. He changed me to Dexilent, which was working well, until they took it away and gave me the stinkin' omeprazole. I told them 2 weeks post surgery there was something wrong and I was correct. My pouch does spasm, feels like she is clenched into an angry little fist, and I still do vomit occasionally. I was trying either a shake or soup once a day, but it is not worth the ❤ ache it causes and I have decided to let PP and her ulcer friends, lay calm in there because the TPN has been formulated to supply my needs nutritionally. Do I miss food? Well yes and no, I sort of do some but it isn't worth the grief food causes.

I have them and , baby it isn't a giggle factory. I have right subcostal pain, same area you would feel gall bladder colic pain, but mine is pure ulcerations. Some times I hurt so bad I want to curl my fingers under my ribs and rip them out. I am hoping I hear good news on the 25th from Dr Noria, if not--' I'm in it to win it, we just do it a while longer with the PICC line and the TPN.

If I find some to send, please remember I am still "A work in Progress" of everyone thinks I'm still big, please remember I WAS BIGGER BEFORE. My current weight is where quite a few started their loss journey, I started at (shudder) 365 for a High Weight! Have to ask my Tomkitten if it can be done from an Android. 📱 -
Is your brother doing okay now? Its wonderful you could do THAT for him, and I wish there had been someone for the Late Lamented, but I never knew until after his death that he had not escaped the hereditary kidney problems of his family. And then it was a little "too late to do the right thing now". Once you are DEAD you're not granted a "do-over"

Total Parents I Nutrition, to give my beleagured jejunem and Precious Pouch some rest, I have a PICC line, which stands for Peripheral Inserted Central Catheter, starts out in my Basilic vein, upper inner surface of left arm, snakes through ever increasing gauge of the venous tree, ending up in my superior Vena cava, the large vein that collects blood from the upper half of my body, it is 48 cm long, a little under 19 inches, about the thickness of a strand of spaghetti, I think it is a 5-French, as a point of reference, most VSG sleeves are 32-35 French, so it is pretty tiny in comparison. I have a clear dressing over it, changed at least once a week, you see a small clear tube coming out with 2 ports on the end, one for IV, one the tube feeding goes through. Really pretty interesting. Does it hurt? Well a little, especially if you accidently tug it a little, but it is bearable, sometimes it itches a little around the dressing. I did have,it infusing all evening and night, 14 hours on, 10 off, but the first of January I was taken back to 12 on, 12 off, that's easier. Start it at 8 pm, take it off 8 AM. And now that I am getting it I do feel better, I was looking gaunt facially, and felt major creepy. The bad news I think,I have hit a stall, I was dropping weight fast when I was teetering on malnourishment and proteinemia, now that I have gotten more healthy IDK what next. The bags hold 3000ml so more than 3 quarts, they go inside a black backpack along with a battery-operated pump. Pretty heavy at the start, but wearable. I have on of my late husband's size 5X jackets I can wear if I am still pumping and need to go somewhere. It is currently clear, a very pale yellow from the vitamins you put in from a 💉, was milky at the start but they have removed the lipids now. I hope to be done in January or February, but not sure if their plan of care at this point. -

And when you are a bypasser you don't have the full projectile vomiting, mine is a cross between choking and a cat heaving up a giant hairball, and I kind of burp before it actually comes rolling up. I have a stricture and ulcers, so I do do a lot of urpie-durpies myself. And I am 4 months out, don't do it as frequent because I am on TPN, to let my pouch and intestines try healing. But 🐺 -

Well my description of Blarf, your mouth seems dry, tastes nasty, you run your tongue back and forth, and suddenly something rolls up and out of you! And often it is slimie too. -
Well Happy Birthday, Happy surgery and I am happy to hear your story. I turned 73 on December 26th so we both are Snowtime Babies, aren't we? Hope to hear updates as you go along on your journey. I was an RnY last September 5th, but no never mind, most of my Bari-buds are sleevers, but we all have the surgery most beneficial for each of us. So Welcome to the After-Surgery side of Town. Wrinkles mean you laughed Gray hair means you cared And scars mean you have lived and loved!😜❤💚💜💙💛
