January surgeries?!
Frustr8 replied to jessicaalyssa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Less than 2 weeks, my dear. Stay sweet, stay calm, don't give into worry because this is smooth, safe, yet life-changing. We are here for you, looking forward to welcoming you over to the Victory side of Life! -
Men are still "little boys" at โค, and they do seem to enjoy large belchs. Are you eating anything like the cabbage family that could be provoking gastric wind? I hate to do it myself , because that's how my vomiting episodes start, belch, belch, urp.

If things went well @courtb86 should be ready to deliver or already delivered, maybe she c will see this and update us all.

It's perfectly normal and logical to be apprehensive. Although I love my doctors, my bariatric program, I love to feel I am contolling my future and being put to sleep, you are relinquishing all control. Didn't Shakespeare say something about " What dreams may come", although this is a dreamless slumber, I do prefer being awake and the Mistress of My Life.

When did you really start to see results?

Laughing with tears of joy here on your behalf๐ฆ, may you keep on to victory, I believe you truly can do it! -
Well there are we real different varieties of GI testing. Are you having a barium swallow, an Upper endoscopy( my current variety- facing my 8th in a few weeks) mamonetry, where they give you some contrast, and watch the speed at which you swallow, whether it is smooth or jerky. If it happens to be a EGD, an upper endoscopy, that's something I have done every 2 weeks, so I am the lay witness on this procedure. What can I explain to you?

And you just get better and better as the days pass. And I do enjoy your postings, they usually have answered my questions before I even thought to ask them.

SEPTEMBER 2018 SURGERIES AND SUCCESS
Frustr8 replied to Frustr8's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Sleep Medicine appointment okay, not deleting c Pap yet, cardiology went wonderful , I just ๐ my cardiologist, Dr Karve is a sweetie but very very smart. I hope she and her hubby someday. have a little one. She would be a very kind mommy. Next appointment is Tuesday with my surgeon, Dr Needleman, get to see him once a month as long as I do,have the PICC line. Really thought I would be more average than exceptional, but not how things worked out. -
Looks like my bathroom floor, landlord was "house-proud" worried I might hang something on the walls, well the bathroom floor is starting to crack, old house cosmetically spiffyed up, but not gonna argue. Tomkitten and I are photo- documenting in case we need proof.๐

Let me tell. you a quick story. I was fishing, one day, stepped into an animal hole, foot got caught, wrenched it badly removing it. This was on a Saturday evening so had hubby take me to the nearest. Urgent Care, X-rayed it, said a bad sprain, and wrapped it in elastic bandaging. The next Monday morning, radiologist called from the main hospital that the Urgent Care was a satellite of, asked how I was getting along with my cast. Cast-what cast, don't got no cast- why would I have a cast? Because my dear, you broke the ends off both lower bones, the tibia and fibula as well as a small bone in your ankle. Asked if I should go somewhere and have a cast put on? Nope, had been more than 48 hours and it wouldn't be worthwhile. That ankle when it finally healed, healed stiff, can't get up on my toes so no sprinting or running. And maybe when I win a sweepstakes or lottery, I can afford to private-pay to have it repaired with bolts and hardware. My insurance would call it cosmetics or a "vanity surgery", and avoid paying for it, after all I can still walk, albeit with a limp๐.

Make the way nice and smooth , I'll be there soon.

Increased pain 2 weeks post-op? Normal or not?
Frustr8 replied to Coexister's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That was your business one? Many doctors double stitch that one for strength, don't want you developing hernias either inwardly or pouching out. And remember you still have some inside swelling tugging on his handiwork. Try a heating pad on low and see if it doesn't help a little. But a pretty normal occurance for us bari-people.๐ -

Have you tried Lactaid yet? -
I had 2 people I hadn't seen in a while today tell me I was looking good and they could see a Weight loss. Now usually my mind goes " Don't I always look good?" but these were 2 people I respect very much, if they can see it, I am gratified. A very small NSV, but I am encouraged to have bigger NSV soon. And I may be doing something good after all and I'm going to keep on toward my target weight.

How do people like the Pure Protein shakes? I have a $3 off coupon, are they worth it?

What is your post-op surgeon visit schedule?
Frustr8 replied to Sweettoothless's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was supposed to be the same intervals as @ nomyname. Turned out to be 1 week, 2 week. one month, 2.5 months, 3.5 months and 4. 5 months. Why? My ulcerations and stoma stricture, I'm a especially more fascinating case, plus I will have my 5th EGJ with Dr Noria on the 25th, makes my 8th lifetime one. One transnasally, 2 EGD and now 5 EGJ. Maybe they should put me on You-Tube or something pretty soon. The Endoscopy staff recognizes me, Dr Noria calls me by my name instead of Medical Record #, by now I know the preparatory drill by ๐. But every time I hope it will be my last one, that everything has settled down the ulcers are healing if not totally healed. And finally that my stricture will be healthy enough to be displayed and stay that way permanently. Hasn't happened yet but I believe it will someday. The last thing that will stay in my ๐ is hope when every other thing is gone. -
Need Advice for My Family

Found it, downloaded it to Adobe Acrobat, a lot of good wisdom from Ontario, CANADA but things we all can use. Thanks KimmieK, I'm going to have Tomkitten, my son, to read it. He is my cheerleader and main support person.๐ธ&๐ฉJust the 2 of us left, older brother died 11 years ago this Friday (1-11-2008), be a rough day for me his Angel Day/Anniversity always is, and my husband and Tomkittens Daddy, Big Tomcat died 7 years ago on the Fourth of July (7-04-2012). But we keep together going forward in life together. If he disapproved I'd like to say. I still would have had my RnY, but it would have been difficult. -
Can hardly wait to read the journal of all this, please keep us updated.
