    1 Week Post Op...

Yeah I would not have had you here to talk to. Your body does have its own wisdom, we just don't pick up the cues or listen very well. I started telling my bariatric team at 2 weeks there was something WRONG, at a month, basically they thought to shut ME up, an endoscopy was scheduled, I was right, they were wrong, I did have a stricture in my new little pouch and multiple ulcerations, been 3 months of repeated endoscopies, medications, going back to liquid diets, removing stressors like tobacco smoke in my presence, adding more medications and finally installing a PICC line, putting me on IV Nutrition, and the story isn't completely over. But I will be better, get better and heal, and I pray to be dancing in the sunlight of better health with all the other Bypassers and sleevers soon. Don't count me out folks, I'm not going anywhere until I gain my ✌ victory! I'm stubborn, red-headed and never accept "No" votes in Life!

    Over eating/binge eating

I figured out another reason I was fat- I thought I was a🐛 caterpillar. They eat a lot, go to sleep and wake up beautiful. Thought I was going to be a lovely colorful butterfly but I guess I'm just a clothing moth after all!
  3. All us and the Over 50 Sleevers- we can and do show the younger people how it can be done. Senior Power- We do Just Fine, don't We?

OMG I am so glad you got that taken care off Often we say on here " Give it time, you'll be better soon" , but I am glad YOU knew YOU better and had it checked out!
  7. Could you still have gas under your diaphragm that hasn't worked out? And maybe it is re-enforcing stitches that will release. once you are farther along in healing? I seem to remember someone else who had similar and suddenly she felt a big Ping, and the pain went suddenly away and never returned. Last thing I can think of, a pinched nerve and once the internal sewll

    Surgery fears..

Draconian, start thinking instead of the bad, the good, the things you'll be able to do that your Weight may have made difficult, the new wardrobe you may be able to get once you "undergrow" your clothes. Less shortness of breath, not tiring as fast, oh there is a bright New world out there just waiting for a Lusty Draconian Maud to show up, are you going to deny them because of whimwahs, oh I think not! Onward my dear, you are on the Glide Path to Glory!

    Weight Loss Stall

If 2 different doctor scales are correct I weighed the same yesterday as I did on December 18th, I think that officially means I have hit my very first stall, since I am sustained on TPN largely, I either delete the one shake or broth I give myself daily or I increase my activity level. Well, I am healthier maybe yesterday is wrong and I pray I really have lost a little more, Tuesday at Dr Needleman's will tell the tale, his is the one I really rely on. I have on a pair of pants that if I hadn't added new elastic would be falling off, maybe I'm deluding myself but I THINK I am getting smaller in measurements.

    Super Emotional

As your fat later melts down, your body starts using fat instead of carbohydrates for fuel , all the nasty hormones and chemicals stored there get released also. What is happening is you are in the midst of a hormonal surge, everything is in flux. A wise old veteran described it as Puberty but you usually don't break out, pregnancy but you don't get a cute little baby out of the deal, you get hot flashes and feel bewildered by it all like menopause, and it all happens without warning, surging and making you feel like you are in a whirlpool. I'm well past menopause but it still happened to me, was a blessing I didn't bleed, many of the younger people do. It does get better but it is a roller-coaster of a thrill ride.

My first 30 minutes today walking

Remember if you still look cute at the end of an exercise session you may not be training hard enough.
  19. Frustr8

    Do you feel more attractive?

When people say" My you're looking good today!"I get suspicious. Don't I always? Size should not always equate Beauty. Remember I have seen me naked before, I have lost weight, over a hundred from my all-time high but at least 140 pounds from scrawny and frightenly small.

    Cool sculpting

I see adverts for it constantly, guess they are making money, but I don't know a soul who had it done, I am suspicious, sounds like over- priced mumbo- jumbo to me.. Like the old saying says If it SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE , it usually is!

    Denied by BCBSAL

Yeah they THINK it is their money, but dog-gone it, it is YOUR LIFE you are talking about. You deserve a quick favorable decision and I , for one, hope it goes your way on appeal!
  22. Yeah, I think I must! Who knew my life story would become a Thriller? Yesterday, I went to my Cardiologist 51 miles away, that part was just fine, tested out well. I still have to have a MRI of my Chest and Abdomen but it can be done whenever I want and at any competent hospital. Basically want to be sure my aorta has no potential bumping that could turn into aneurysms. My middle child and oldest son died 11 years ago today of an aortic aneurysm at the age of just 31. This will be a hard day to get through, his death Anniversity always is. I try to put a positive spin on it to others and call it his ANGEL DAY but I still know what it really is. Every year I release a helium balloon to Heaven and I guess I dream that he knows and approves. But it is SO SO HARD to lose a child, to have to bury them. You are having to place a piece of your future, your baby in the cold ground and leave them there when you only wish you could hold them and keep them safe. Anyway back to yesterday, my appointment was short, didn't seem to take anytime at all. Called my driver to tell him I was done only to be told he was half-way back to Mount Vernon to pick up another person who had an Columbus doctor appointment. Now if it had been ME I would have doubled back , picked Tomkitten and I up, dropped us off at our house in Mount Vernon then picked up the other person. But not every person does things efficently. He says" I'll swing back and pick you up when I drop him off." Shoot, we called driver at 11:06am, other persons appointment 1:45-2 o'clock, only takes 45- minutes that time of day. transit time. Maybe a little over an hour even at peak traffic time. So there we sat in Canal Winchester, 4 counties away from home, and we sat and we sat. We were still sitting there when my cardiologist office hours were over, 5 hours later. No sign of the stinking driver. My doctor said , after the nurse went back up and told her, that if We were still there at 4:30 she would pay herself for us to be transported home. Luckily he finally wandered in 4 minutes after 4, My insurance was paying him because if I had to pay cash he wouldn't gotten paid. I'm not sure if his excuse was that he got lost, all her would have to done was retrace his morning route, I know he had GPS and Google Map. I have MapQuest on my phone, my son, on the way down had to climb into the front seat and hide him in with the easier routes there. Dr Karve's office is 51 miles from where I live, yes there are heart specialists closer but none as good. So I feel sitting on a hard bench in a lobby for 5 hours is cruel and unusual punishment, especially when you are arthritic and 73. If I had any clue he was going to pull this trick I could have gone over to the hospital there and had my MRI done there. Sorry folks, but this lady wants to rant, complain and sing the blues. And the boss of him is going to get an earful this morning.
