Flying. Talk to ME!!
Frustr8 replied to CrowleysFan's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Play the disability card, maybe it's only a temporary variety, but post-surgery people deserve. a little kindness and pampering. You have the rest of your life to be strong and self- reliant, don't be ashamed at this point. Bariatric is MAJOR SURGERY, after all! -
And also pickle juice is HIGH HIGH in Sodium(salt) , canned enough of them in my lifetime to know. Don't want your electrolytes out of balance at this stage of healing. And 2 Shea is right, full of vinegar(acetic acid) but also full of undisclosed sugar. Do you really want the extra carbs when you're working so hard to lose?

January surgeries?!
Frustr8 replied to jessicaalyssa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was born in Newark 73 years ago, when it was Newark City Hospital, I was the longest baby on record, 25 inches long but I was only 7 pounds 12 oz. I must have looked like a mini- basketball player with red-gold curls all over my head. So it is a small world after all. My parents lived on 8th Street back when it was working class white. Still can find my way around town if need be. So where are you having your RnY surgery? I had mine last September 5th at OSU in Columbus and I now live in Mount Vernon, but most of my Daddy's people are still in Licking County. Hey don't be 😟 worried, you will be fine, and even if you have problems talk with me, I have broad shoulders and I love helping others. So smile, believe in yourself and you will do very good. I promise!!👈😝👉 -
Tips and things you wish you would've known

No it didn't, poor thing , it wasn't a laughing matter after all. I suspect we were really discussing a HIATAL hernia repair but then I could be wrong! -
So I just went hair shopping!
Frustr8 replied to justmetj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are they horribly expensive? Give me some more info, I am a thin haired redhead, this may be in my future. -
No fresh fruits/veggies, but.....

OSU forbids Bari-patients from pickles for life, maybe I'll ask them why at my appointment this Tuesday. Kimchi, sauerkraut, as far as I know are okay. -
Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
Frustr8 replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh J San regretfully,NO,to all 3 . I think I look like road kill, cheeks are caving in , look like 2 dead relatives I never noticed a resemblance to, my son says I look just fine and stop being so harsh toward myself. How I feel? Not great, I have what seems to be hunger but it is just probably my ulcers, my stomach pouch, the Ms Precious Pouch, does not entertain the ingress of anything hinting at solid, so am on a limited liquid diet, I have a stomal stricture, 2 ulcers in the pouch and multiple ones in the, jejunem, bad enough to be hospitalized on November 28th, on the 29th I had a PICC line installed in my upper left arm, I am fed TPN 12 hours on,12 hours off, to allow my gastrointestinal. system to heal up. I have the line still. No date of removal has been given, the feedings have a calorie count of 1430, which has caused me to go into a WL stall or close to it! Oh I feel much clearer of mind, than I did when I was dehydrated and had proteinemia, so that is GOOD. So apart from being exhausted, fat, and nearing an emotional breakdown from all that has happened ,and financial unstable, my post surgical trek has been just ducky. But you know, I refuse to let it cloud my life, I am still going to be a winner. I did not have major surgery to become a loser, I am in this to win this , and I still shall. Don't count this old red-headed broad out, I will not leave this life without a fight👈!😝👉 -
Acne breakouts 3 and a half weeks post op
Frustr8 replied to Bypassgirl92's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe it's just your germ resistance was down and the natural skin flora attacked you, maybe a minute skin hole, once it got in , it was " Hello Sailor" and you were reaping the whirlwind, don't know if there is a difinative answer for it all! -
Acne breakouts 3 and a half weeks post op
Frustr8 replied to Bypassgirl92's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please keep us updated, I had my first cystic acne flare right after my first baby and it return when I least wanted it. I haven't had any since my surgery but I'm sure it's waiting in the wings, maybe when I meet with my congressman or another inconvenient time. And yes I do know my congressman, no big whoop, he's not even a chairman of any commited. Just just a waste of space individual like many others. -

Don't sometimes for lower BMI they recommend ESG instead? I think I read that on one of the past postings. -

Are you now off of all these now that you had that pesky Gall Bladder removed? Gosh you have had your H*** already, you deserve a little Heaven now! -
So Sarah M has the New Year brought you Mr Right, Mr Wrong or Mr Adequate but still hoping for Better? Or are you just waiting and watching as the Menu of Life passes by in front of you?

And as a widow, if I get the opportunity to Mattress Mambo, I hope I don't have to revert to training wheels, surely I can do it without crashing into a wall or falling off. That would be frustrating and hilarious at the same time!🚲🌀

mousecat medical/dietary saga thread
Frustr8 replied to mousecat88's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Mousecat, you must have some secret compartments somewhere, we both have Tuesday appointments. And our stories are still being written, but neither of us planned on the plot twists we have had. But we're in this to the finish, whatever it will be! Hoping for a Good Tuesday, I'm sure you are too. -
And I am trying really hard, because I believe in my future.

Sensation of food being stuck in throat 3 weeks post op
Frustr8 replied to Bypassgirl92's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good thing you knew to stepback, if you persist you will vomit and as a veteran urp-er it is absolutely no fun. Found out mine was complicated by being strictured stepped back down, but I am taking only a token amount by mouth. Being largely sustained by TPN through a PICC line in my upper left arm, I turned out to be the rare occurance doctors mention in their pre-surgery warnings, frankly I didn't ask for this honor! But it is fixable and my doctors know the interventions to do. Just a matter of time until I am better! -
Briswife15 is also A March Forward person, but hers is later in the month.
-
So how are you@lili@ne after a month out ? Are things going the way that you wanted them to?

Well use this time learning, losing weight and getting ready for your Big Day. I started making Check Off Lists once I knew mine. -
Stop waiting around for Prince Charming. Sometimes you actively have to search for him. The poor idiot might be stuck up a tree himself waiting to be rescued. So do what's necessary to doing him.

I'm 60. Anyone else over 50 doing RNY?
Frustr8 replied to Pam Peltz's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
When you think about it, there's logic there. As we lose the fat deposits all through our body, we lose our insulation. Now you sense temperature changes as you never did before. I'm sitting in a house with thermostat set at 72 degrees Fahrenheit clad in sweatshirt with tee-shirt underneath , sweatpants and socks on my feet. While I was formerly fat, I was barefoot, bicycle shorts and shirt of tank top indoors, oh my Have things changed, and now I kee0 a microfiber blankie within reach, just in case. Used to drink coffee early in the diet trek, but that went bye-bye when the ulcerations came, now it's decaf tea to warm up. Have been allergic to chocolate for 43 years, so I don't have the comfort of sugar free cocoa like most of you. But it still beats DEAD all hollow, so I'm glad to be bypassed and alive! And daily I regret neither.
