Frustr8 replied to lzucks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am gonna be shaped like the Great Pyramid of Egypt, little pinhead on top but the round ass and thunder thighs will be the last to go! -

Dang you mean not EVERYTHING is perfect for Barbie either? And I always thought she got the best of what was out there, even if she was a doll I envied her, nobody ever gave me a Malibu Beach House or a Pink convertible! -
Overheard Staff Joking About My Body

Yeah but some of the Oldies were Goodies, always wonder how the posters are these days! Probably living maintainable level and still grateful for their surgeries. -
Yeah I also was amazed how quick Bariatric Pal Store deliveries are, even to my off beaten path and no interstate access city. Good stuff, reasonable price and quick delivery, triple wins in My Book!

@claricey I do hope they come through for you . In a world where. companies of all kinds aim for 5 ๐and often get 4 or 4 and a half, Independence BCBS out of Philadelphia Pa has 2.4 so not well thought of by the General Public. I pray there is one righteous employee that will speed your request through. Keep their feet to the ๐ฅ as much as possible, it's YOUR life they are monkey- doodling with.๐๐๐ฐ๐ after all!

And I guess you turned into a February 2019 after all! Good luck whenever it happens.

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
Frustr8 replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just had it myself today, worry if I can taste it someone else can smell it. Know I shouldn't worry about others but I was raised that way and had trouble putting it behind me and learn to rely on me! Saw a saying that goes---- "People wouldn't try to tear you down if they didn't realize you were a better person than them" -
And Kerri if you have questions, please ask, we will be happy to help if we can! Welcome Aboard the Good Ship ๐คBariatric Pal!

And hi am still working my way to get there and join you. Just about half-a- hundred or so and I will be!๐ฉ๐ช๐ฉ

Just 2 pounds Decemberv18- January 15th.. Next surgeon appointment February 12th but I do have an endoscopy coming up this Friday January 25th with Dr Noria. Life without NSAIDS?
Frustr8 replied to ๐ บ๐ ธ๐ ผ๐ ผ๐ ธ๐ ด๐ บ's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
NSAIDS I gave up willingly, it gave me Hector,my original ulcer. Tomkitten can gradually delete them from my house, I give him total permission. I still have liquid and caplet Tylenol , and I am hoarding my Norco and Tramadol for emergencies. And I usually have them expire before I ever get them taken. Glad I don't have that doctor that required his patient to give him back the Norco if he hadn't taken them all. I know there is an opioid epidemic but I surely didn't contribute mine to anyone else. And I never woyld! -
Well I still don't want to be "average", I am holding out for awesome, because I am proud of ME and the things I have already accomplished. I am better than I was ever given credit for!
-
Still haven't got my Med Alert ID, better bite the bullet, and order one. See you can get them through Bariatric Pal as well as online from that. monetary spider that is Amazon.

Well I made chili before this blasted winter storm set in, tried some of it, up it came. Broths okay, my powdered whey strawberry powder in skim milk, propel water, but still living off TPN through my PICC line. Last blood draw I am deficent in the iron, so check surgeons office Monday for recommendations. Maybe Feosol? Everything is cool otherwise. Seem to have a small bm every other day, hope iron supplementation won't send me into constipation, cause that is a dastardly thing to happen.๐ฉ

Well Welcome@ Trellunit With your last nutrition appointment coming up on February 2nd I would say you are close to getting a surgical date. Oh it will be a change of life, if it scares you a little, that's perfectly okay, you wouldn't be human without a whim wah or 2. But there are a lot of veterans on here, they will mentor you if you need it. I'll be happy to help too, I am a RnY of 4-and -half months, oh my recovery hasn't been perfect, had a few set- backs , but I don't regret doing it, would never trade today for a stack of yesterdays, they were not That Happy. I will finish up maybe slower than the "youngins". still okay with me, I am IN it to WIN it, and my doctors PROMISE me my temporaries will turn into final victories and I'm claiming it for my own! I am stubborn , redheaded, 73 and a force to contend with. I wear a jelly bracelet that states" I'M WORTH WAITING FOR", like all of Gods Children I'm here for a while, and my retirement will be Out of This World๐. So any questions, just ask, we live and love to help others.

How long did it take you to get your surgeries?
Frustr8 replied to WeGettingThere's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wanna hear from oposite extreme? 3 years and a month nearly. 1st attempt: August 2015-January 2016- Job terminated, no one made me aware my secondary was less stringent and would have covered. 2nd attempt November 2017- February 2018- after every requirement fulfilled Surgeon kicked me to the curb, refusing to do my surgery. 3rd attempt: March 2018- spent 4 months doing further requirements this program required, meeting every month also with Nurse-Practioner. Surgeons pre-exam July 17th 2018, surgery preformed September 5th 2018 at 7AM at OSU- Wexner Medical Center by Bradley J Needleman MD, who I can never stop being grateful to, he took a 72 year old sad dejected and rejected person and helped her into a future of health. And now I work to finish the miracle he started for me, not easy, had some set-backs but I Shall power through to victory, just wait AND see----- AND THE REST OF MY LIFE SHALL BE THE BEST OF MY LIFE, THIS I VOW! ๐๐๐ -
You feel guilty because society has stated Obesity is something we willfully do. And truly many of us have tried everything short of slitting our own throats as an intervention to slow or retard our weight gains. I have literally be obese since babyhood when my parents , Depression Survivors that they were, overfed me in the belief FAT BABIES ARE HEALTHY BABIES hate coming across that it is somebody else's fault, shifting the blame, but in MY case it is true. Weighed at 1 year the same weight as a healthy 2-and-half year old, and THAT AIN'T GOOD! Oh I am trying to debulk myself but it is not very easy. Lost 50 pounds since surgery but my floppy stretched out skin is going to just be, unless my reoccurent skin breakdowns buy me Plastic Surgery, and doubtful any would repair someone in their 70s. Look what happened to Joan Rivers, went in for something minor, ended up majorally DEAD.

Well bummer to the max, I'm stuck inside in Central Ohio with snow and ice, winter storm warning for my area until Sunday night or Monday morning. Can't afford to ride bus shuttle to the grocery unless I find some change in the furniture. Put my kerosene heater on a radio trade- barter -sell locally had only one lady come by, guess she thought $30 too much for something worth between $150-200, this morning I would even let it go for less if somebody brings cash money. S.S. doesn't pay me until February. 1st and that's even early because the 3rd is on a Sunday. Well what next, got food for me and TK but the cats are gonna get cranky, they don't like tuna very much. And their bag of Kitty Chow is getting low. ONE cat will eat anything but Squeaky won't , she said she deserves better. Oh yes, in her way, she does talk.

And since I am a RnY with Giant Ulceration potential, I also probably am banned for LIFE, and wouldn't you know, I had bought a beautiful red coffeemaker to match my red toaster and blender and microwave just prior to my surgery Sits there gazing reproachfully with its digital time-keeping eyes at me. At least I am still using the rest of them, nuke foods and make Tomkitten toast, he likes it with peanut butter and seedless strawberry spread, can't legally call it jelly because it is sugar-free. Used to like cinnamon sugar or brown sugar on buttered toast, have not made that since I reformed from dietary excess. Oh well I'll make me some sort of herbal tea and inwardly boo-hoo!

Do they still make Postum? I remember my Grandma( may she rest in peace) drinking that when I was a Wee Frustr8 in the 50s.โ
