mousecat medical/dietary saga thread
Frustr8 replied to mousecat88's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
And if you have heard about the Fentanyl deaths at Mount Carmel in Columbus, I almost crawled off the endoscopy table , what did he sedate me with? Benadryl with a skosh of Fentanyl in it . My last thought as I zoned out " I hope Dr Noah Switzer😷 isn't buddies with that Mount Carmel dude!" and then I was in LaLaLand, good news, I survived after alll!😝 -
mousecat medical/dietary saga thread

Well 🐭🐯it's me again. Had my endoscopy yesterday, Dr Noria let her senior resident Noah J Stinson do it. He stated the swell8ng in my pouch was down enough to dialate my opening, his belief is that two more dilatations and I will be close to all better. I don't know if I believe him. Came home , made a 1/3 cup of very runny mashed potatoes, started back up 27 minutes later and spent an hour puking and slime spitting. At 9 pm I finally kept down a small serving of boughten individual 90 cal- less than 10 carb. diet tapioca pudding, woke up this morning to right subcostal Pain just like before, sitting here trying to keep the Carafate down. If I succeed make myself a skim milk strawberry protein shake and sip all day. Do,i desire it? Heck no, think he made my jejunal ulcers ache and throb, Dr Noria said that was what that pain I first attributed to liver problems is. Frankly I would have preferred her, not a bait and switch where I got a stand-up. When I wasn't puking I fell back asleep sitting up, made my son peeved, but still slept more in bed in between bathroom runs. When you have 3 liters of fluid being infused you don't sleep too well any, more. I'm sitting here with the verdompt nausea he left me with. And the plan now, if it is the truth, 2 more months of this TPN. Really don't want anything oral, oh I will manage to get my meds down , but good? Forget about it, if it is only going to come barreling back up, its to my best interest to just let the TPN sustain me. He did ask how much p.o. fluid I took in Thursday, just under 64 oz. of propel, water, and Nestle Splash. I just aren't going to set the world🌏on fire, am I? -

Well Good luck and good healing LadyDiane, go to sleep peaceful, wake up wide awake and ready to face everything.😝🍀😝 -
No hair loss at almost 5 months! You don't want the way I escaped it though, be on Total Parentral Nutrition for over 2 months, yeah my proteins , vitamins and other goodies taken care of but for 12 hours every evening and night I have my backpack of goodies, a plastic line thethering me, and to me the WORST part, it's 3 liters of fluid. like a 3 month old infant I sleep, cry and pee are all night. Too much pride to drag out the bedside commode, so I repeatedly,pitty-pat,from room to room like an unqiuet spirit. All b I need is a chain to rattle like Marley's ghost. Oh the cats appreciate me being awake, but they get a chance to sleep through the day. 🐯🐱😗

January surgeries?!
Frustr8 replied to jessicaalyssa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A good end will gratify you after the discomfort of today. You just came throughout surgery, and it is called major for a reason, body is acting shook up. Remember it was happy before surgery, and it's mad you upset the status quo. And while it gets used to. the new reality it is not gonna be a happy camper. Each of us has a weak point it seems to attack, you at. Some of us vomit, some people can't stand up straight, some felt every stab wound, my entire stomach turned purple, not just around the port wounds, the entire flippin' stomach wall, near as my doctor and I could figure out , a small skin vein got knicked, when I got enough Lovenex in me. I hemmorhaged under the skin, between skin and fat layer, looked like I was carrying an aliens baby. But I got through it, and every day you will feel a little better, take a while for tenderness to go away, but it will, almost everything you feel now gets better. At 5 months if you don't know where to look my scars have faded into my stretch marks, and I swore at the begging I would have big wide red scars, I don't , I look at them and to me they are battle ribbons, awarded for a long fight, and worth it, but right after surgery wouldn't have believed it. -
Don't wait on Prince Charming to rescue you, just rule your kingdom to the best of your abilities, the poor dude may be stuck up a tree waiting for YOU to rescue Him.

When did you really start to see results?
Frustr8 replied to Bypassgirl92's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm asthmatic, believe youme, if coughing worked I never would gotten obese, needed surgery or slowly losing down to the point no one tried showing drive-in movies on my rump or I would not be large enough to have my,own zip code assigned. But every day I get smaller, about ready to go down another size, now if I was only wealthy enough be purchase a new wardrobe, but,i still frequent Hoodwill, Volunteers,of America, when spring finally comes maybe size 18/20, the smaller I get the bigger a choice at stores. Working at leaving Plus Sized behind me, and,i,know it is gonna happen, like the 60s hit "Its just a Matter of Time"😛🙍 -
How long did it take you to get your surgeries?
Frustr8 replied to WeGettingThere's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And we will be looking for an update from you when it does occur. Get everything in working order, you're entering the final preliminaries, the last month- 6 weeks go pretty fast. Start making a list, how will you be setting up things for your immediate post-surgery, do you have family members you need to make sure they are taken care off? How about any pets? Do you want your hair trimmed up? All these piddly things need care of, do you have a tote packed for the hospital, I must have packed and unpacked 6 times. I would hear on Bariatric Pal what others found useful. so I would add that, someone said I didn't use X item, and I would pull it out. And some things I still didn't use at all. Who do you want to call, who do you want to tell, and if you had some of my kinfolk, who would you not tell anything to even if they held a gun to your head? And please believe , the surgery is far easier than you thought it would be. If you have a good surgeon, that's half the battle right there! -
That can be an after effect of your anaesthesia. Others have mentioned it before on here.

Let me tell ya'll about this dream...
Frustr8 replied to WeGettingThere's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I constantly drempt they had canceled my surgery and it was for varied reasons. One that stocked in my mind was my surgeon had a migraine headache and asked if he could have an intern do my surgery? I guess I wasn't worthy of a surgical resident. Another was it was Autumn Commencement and he decided he'd rather attend it. FYI my actual surgery was smooth, uneventful and Dr Needleman did do it. I can't say enough nice things about him, tableside, operations or follow-up, he does not shirk anything! He could give department lessons to several others of my Medical Stable, including the one I go to see today, my PCP. -
i am not eating to much protein a day

I use Genpro, yeah it's had some legal troubles but must have resolved because I got mine from the Bariatric Pal Store, Alex wouldn't carry something with any taint to it! -
ALMOST AT THE FINISH LINE....FINALLY!!!!
Frustr8 replied to TroyLynne504's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And here I thought it was " Your Plan Doesn't Cover that!" I got a prescription for Ferrocite from my Bariatric surgeon's office, Silver Scripts my Medicare Part D insurer does not cover it. They said buy something over the counter, think they meant " Go away Lady, we got important insurance matters to think of" the over the counter iron I know of is Ferrous Sulfate, I am an RnY, I can't digest SO4 without stomach acid, should I enrich the local sewage system with unresolved and dissolved iron or should I have my Ferrous Fumerate which is what Ferrocite or Hemocyte is? Its only about $13, but it's late in the month and I don't have that much cash left. So do I wait a week until February 1st when I can afford it? Don't think I will fade away by then, but it is a pain to fight with them about a little bottle of pills.😥😧😥 -
I started my journey FINALLY!
