You have a bad case of the whim wahs, many of us have had them. Its getting closer every day, I would bet you're 85-90% wanting to do this but there is a small little voice saying Run Baby Run, it is scary facing the unknown. You have to keep moving forward, don't let dread take you captive. The good things in life are the hard things of life, always been that way. But you are growing in strength, resolve and believing in yourself, and you will make a success of this thing. AND OH THE FINAL BENEFITS ARE TRULY WORTH ALL THIS PREPARATION. You will wake up February 12th after your surgery still you, just facets of you will have changed, but you will find your feet again and you'll make it through, we faced it ourselves and we'll be here cheering you on! So Wee here the roller takes its last bend and you're home safe and free!

Well say to YOURSELF I do not have to put out on everything I see for fear I might never taste again. That helped put you where you are today, seeking a surgical revision. Many of the foods you love you will eat later.on, but you either will eat just a small portion or you may find they don't taste as good as you remember or they flat out will disgust you. Start tapering down now, that way when you start your liquid diet it won't be like you're trapped in a thunderstorm and can't escape. Think of it as starting to go into Spring Training , it's not baseball its LIFE-ball, and it is important. Come back here if you need help, we all have faced these demons and won the battle, we have tips that can help. And Good Luck because you may find you need it!

Well congratulations are in older here. Always happy to add a near- peer of mine to the batch. Its not too late for you, because it was not too late for me either. 5 months out at 73, the rest of my life will be the best of my life, never count out Baby Boomers , we were made of strong steel not molded plastic, we have met our challenges, bore our scars for the trophies they are, lived our lives with style and grace, and we can educate all the younger people how it is done! Welcome again@kjoz66, hope you'll be happy here!

Or Boy Scout popcorn, now the citrus fruit our local FFA takes orders for and then delivers, that I would give House Room to!

Apple Cider Vinegar Discussion
Frustr8 replied to keylady42's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
We all have our strength and our follies, keeps the world interesting. Remember the shoemaker children going barefoot? Well one of my BFF in Columbus wrote her due date on a card and put it next to her dear hubby's breakfast, he was an OB/Gyn but failed to notice HER tiny pot belly at all!😛 -
Food Before and After Photos
Frustr8 replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yeah it sure does look good, think I would get brave and try some of that! -
And I am very proud of you all, late hubby tried, but kept going back, he didn't die of lung cancer but his Daddy did, still kept on smoking after that. Nicotine was a worse mistress than me, he just tuned me out when I nagged him about it

And we still are healing and living a thinner life now!

Frustr8 replied to Born in Missouri's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Some days I amaze me that I can do this and do it well. And then there was the day I put the laundry in the oven, Tomkitten hasn't let me live THAT down! At least I didn't put the frozen chicken in the washer, now that would be bad, might send me b to the Rubber Room Folks! -

Keto Diet with weight loss surgery - What are your thoughts about it?
Frustr8 replied to erics300's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Will MCT really help that much to avoid constipation? I'm for anything that will lubricate them rocks and large chunks of brick!💩 -
Hiatal Hernia repair & Revision from sleeve to bypass on 1/21/2019
Frustr8 replied to beautiful12no's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Of course hernia repair is " Medically necessary!" do they honestly think it is a vanity or cosmetic Procedure? Our premiums in but no money and approval coming, out. I wish insurance companies were not a profit- making entity, they should be merely a clearinghouse for us all, not playing with our lives.! Universal health care isn't perfect but it would remove the stingers from these wasps of finance once and for all! -
And do you need to give yourself a Boost today?

Happy New Year! What Gift Are You Giving Yourself?
Frustr8 replied to Starry*Night's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
And what did you give you this year? And another challenge for you all- If you could give your Pre-surgery self a message , what would it be? I would tell me Surgery was not half as bad as I expected. I would say You will lose weight even if you doubt it now. And finally Frustr8 you are a strong woman, you can handle this challenge too! -
We used to have someone on here who used sugar free Cool Whip for her ground-up meds. Might be an alternative, some also have used sugar free pudding.

Does this look infected?
Frustr8 replied to ABawdyMermaid's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Might be something as simple as Bacitracin or Neosporin application. If I was the surgeon I would remove the stitch, clean and drain it, maybe even pack it, but I'm probably more of an interventionist than your surgeon, that's why he has the degrees, license, and I am only a humble medical geek on the internet. But it does look wicked bad! -
Makes you feel like you're in the middle of barn animals all loudly chewing their cud.

Menopause
Frustr8 replied to Naughty Glitter Goddess's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You are one blessed individual, for every one of you there is a Stormin' Norma, Weeping Wilda, Screaming Sarah, Foul-tempered France's and Bewildered Belinda all saying WTF just happened to me? Do you remember Edith Bunker telling Archie she was going "through the change" and he told her to hurry up because he didn't have the time for this? You drew a dressage mare but most of us get a Bucking Bronco which we're gonna have to ride bareback and try not to get thrown! -
Tomkitten bought me a bottle of Sprite Zero for Christmas, took a sip, did nothing for me and I used to enjoy it so. Just let it go flat and pitched it. Maybe I won't always show such strength and stubborness, I am human , but I count it. NTV, a no temptation victory, so I'm patting me on the back today!

"We don't think you're a good candidate for WLS at this time" ....Should I seek a 2nd opinion?
Frustr8 replied to Dryad's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did you ask them why they felt that way? Maybe it is something else that you can cure easily besides lack of support. Many people go in without support, find supportive others in their journey, I have found some here on Bariatric Pal as well as a very few friends, most of my peer group have died, some of which should have joined me instead of dying with obesity- generated diseases . But I survived long enough to receive surgery, hardest yet the most rewarding thing I have done in years, I can't really regain the years I spent in tears but I can make the rest of my life the best of my life. This I Can DO! -

I would say this is worse than a hair caught in your teeth and I used to hate when that happened.
