    Pain and slow loss

Have you been having regular bowel movements? This may be the cause of additional pain.

    Day 3 Post-Op Help

In the beginning it was very painful. I could not get my protein in and my dr told me to just concentrate on water. I actually lived on ice chips for the first 2 weeks. You can live without food for a little while, but your body needs water. Your stomach is swollen right now and needs time to heal. Definitely keep talking to your dr, but know this pain will pass. It will become better soon. Hang in there and good luck.
  3. You are not alone. I was sleeved last April. I'm glad you made an appointment with your nutritionist. It is easier to keep weight off if you react more quickly. I have gone back to drinking a big water 3 times a day. This has helped with snacking. I also have cleaned out my pantry again, because those trigger foods were sneaking back in slowly. Remember, YOU are worth taking care of. Good luck!!
  4. I wish I would have concentrated earlier on getting a trainer, nutritionist and psychologist. These were the true keys to my weight loss. The surgery has made it faster, but it is not easy, it's a lot of work still knowing what foods will and will not go down well. I'm 57 and needed to lose weight quickly so I can hopefully donate a kidney. If I were younger, I may not have had the surgery.
  5. Just remember this is your journey. Try not to compare yourself to others. You will have ups and downs as you progress. Just take one day at a time and know this is a tool. There are lots of people on this site to support you. Hang in there and know you got this.

    ???SLEEVERs VSG

I know this sounds strange, but I also know others on this site get the same reaction. When I'm starting to get full, my nose runs.

    Constantly hungry

In the beginning your stomach is still healing and you will get a lot of growling. Are you drinking all of your water and getting enough protein? In the beginning I ate 5 - 6 meals to get in all of my protein. Try to spread out your protein all day as this helps keep you felling full longer. Also if you haven't, meet with a nutritionist and have them help set a meal plan. We are learning a new way to eat and our bodies are adapting. I learned that my stomach growling also meant my body was thirsty. Best of luck to you.

    Stall frustration....

I know you are working out a lot and eating well, but are you maintaining your water intake? I had a major stall after going to a trainer for months. I decided to try swimming and the weight started coming off again. I try to change up my routine whenever I start to stall and the change in activity seems to help. Best of luck on your journey.
  9. This was and still is tough for me. When I get a stall now, I throw myself into a new activity. At 6 months I started to swim, this activity helped kick my body back into weight loss. I think I may try bike riding now. I also notice when I want more snacks, I haven't been drinking enough water. I am also starting to try new recipes and foods so I don't get bored. I also put a sign in my bathroom right on the mirror that says Take Care of Yourself, You're worth it.

    Can’t throw up??

Probably TMI...but I feel I'm among friends here. With the sleeve, you don't create as much bile. You can still throw up, it's just different. I had food poisoning and it was hard and different, but I was able to throw up. Instead of a liquid, I had more of a foam. It seemed to take a lot more out of me physically. My entire body hurt the next day.

My insurance covered some. Afterwards I owed $2000. They sent a bill, but I sent $250 a month until it was paid off.

    VSG /Dumping/Late Dumping

I have this happen whenever I eat rich food. It has taken me a little while to realize when it's happening. Now I stop eating at the first sign of ickyness. I also get what I call foamy. My body want to throw up, but only foam comes up. I feel terrible for an hour until it finally digests.

    Chick-fil-a : post op

Chick fil a has chicken tortilla soup. It's yummy. A small soup without tortillas is 270 calories.

    Beef in soft food stage?

You'll be fine. Everyone is a little different, just make sure to chew it until it is mushy and really soft. I am 9 months out and I still have problems with chicken making me nauseous. I can eat beef, pork, fish without pain. My favorite is shrimp and scallops.
  16. I had severe constipation in the beginning. After using miralax to finally unplug and go, I put benefiber in my water every single day. It dissolves instantly and has no taste whatsoever. Good luck!

    Needing some help

I kind of am in the same boat as you. I have gone back to making sure I pack all my meals the night before. When I get hungry, I can only grab from my pre-packed bag. This way I know they are smart choices. It stops me from just grabbing whatever is near. Also remember if you drink a big glass of water, you won't be quite as hungry. Good luck.
  18. Unjury has a great plant based protein: https://www.unjury.com/products/planted-protein.html
  19. I feel the same. I'm trying to concentrate on drinking my water first like I did in the beginning. If i really feel hungry, I drink some chicken broth. I worked too hard to let this voice in my head (or my loud stomach) control me. One day at a time, 1 meal at a time, 1 bite at a time.
  20. @SteveT74 try adding benefiber to your water. It is flavorless and helps tremendously.
  21. I had pills too. I cut them up tiny and swallowed them. It was such a pain to swallow them that I switched to liquid Tylenol and then just stopped with pain meds all together.

    Hungry

Are you still drinking all of your water? I had the same thing happen around 6 months. I increased my water and made sure I was eating protein throughout the day (and healthy fats). Just be careful of snacking and taking bites here and there.

    Shoulder pain and pressure

AS I lost weight I experienced a lot of pain in my back and shoulders. I think it has to do with losing weight and starting to carry my weight differently. I suggest asking your doctor. It's important to know that physically you are okay to exercise. I realized my pain was my body adjusting to losing weight and being able to walk better. As I gained more movement, the pain lessened. Do get it checked out.
