    Constipation

I'm using Metamucil. It's orange flavored and I just add it to my water intake once a day.

    Help! Severe constipation

Go to urgent care or your doctor if you can get in right away. You may be impacted. Once it gets to this stage, no suppository will help. I am speaking from personal experience here. Not urinating is not a good sign either.

    Any April 2018 Sleevers?!?!

I am using premiere protein drinks. I've tried chocolate and vanilla and they are both pretty good. The vanilla tastes like melted ice cream. I drinking water, decaf tea and also using crystal light to change up the flavor of water. I also have chicken bone broth. The bone broth has more protein than regular broth.

    Any April 2018 Sleevers?!?!

This is the 5th day of my 2-week liquid diet. It's not too bad unless I walk too much. I went to Disneyland with my daughter on Saturday and brought my protein shakes and water. I almost fainted and had to get out of line. I drank another protein shake but was still feeling dizzy. We checked our app and realized we did 15,000 steps. I went and had a garden salad with no dressing and felt much better. I realized my energy level is low and I have to limit my exercise during this liquid phase.

    Surgery is tomorrow! 3/26

You are having your rebirth. Take care of yourself.
  7. My surgery is April 5th. I started my liquid diet yesterday. I get 4 protein shakes (27g) and water. My son came home with 3 loaves of bread from our favorite bakery and I kept them sealed. The good thing is I didn't hear them calling me like I would have in the past. I think the long journey to get here has helped me learn new habits. I started this in June. I cannot wait. I'm so excited.

    People making decision difficult

If you haven’t, I suggest you see a psychologist. I was having the same pressure and speaking with my psychologist helped me make the best decision for me. Best of luck whatever you do.
  9. I have told some of my sisters, but I’m not saying a word to two of them. They are judgemental and I don’t need that right now.

    Any April 2018 Sleevers?!?!

My nutritionist recommended Bone Broth soup. I bought Pacific Foods Chicken Bone broth it has 9 grams of protein and I am adding flavor free isopure if I need more protein. My liquid diet of premiere protein, bone broth and water starts tomorrow. My surgery is April 5th. I know this is getting real because my hospital called and asked for my copay.

    April/May 2018 Sleevers!!?

If you have access to Netflix, they have a show called The Ward. It follows people through their Weight loss surgery. I took all of the nutrition classes, but this show really showed me why I need to still read labels and watch out for carbs, sugar and calories. I binge watched the whole thing.
  18. Thank you so much for this long post. This has given me a better idea of what I can expect in the hospital and right after. Best of luck to you on your journey.
  19. Also check your protein shakes. I watched a show and this girl was drinking high protein shakes, but didn't look at her caloric intake.
  20. Good luck. Remember we're all here for you. I'm excited for you. I just did my pre-op tests for my surgery on 4/5.

    Psych Evaluation

MY EAP benefits allowed 5 paid visits. I found the first one helpful so I went to all 5.

    Psych Evaluation

I met with a psychologist using my EAP benefits through work. This was the best part of the process so far. I didn't feel analyzed. I left my meetings, I had 5, feeling empowered and more confident than I have felt in years. Much of this process will involve changing my behavior and mindset of how I relate to food. I think the psychology of it all is critical to my success.

    Any other April 2018 Sleevers?

How exciting for all of us. For those couples doing this together, that is fantastic. I'm doing this with the support of my family and husband, but I'm also doing this because my husband is on dialysis. I would not wish dialysis on my enemy. Now is the time to put ourselves first. This is difficult as a wife, mother, and caregiver, but I have finally realized (with counseling) that I need to take care of myself or I will not be able to help others. I thought I was being selfish, but I was wrong. Improving my health will help my whole family. I highly suggest counseling for all of you. It has helped me immensely. And if you have Netflix, I recommend "The Ward". It follows several people through gastric sleeve surgery and it helped me better understand why the pre-op liquid diet is so important. Best of luck to all of you.
  24. Yay!! I think you're feeling exactly the same as I am. I watched these youtube videos and really liked this one guy who kept it real: https://www.fighting400.com/ Watching them gave me tons of information and helped me feel more excited than scared.
  25. My husband was the same way. When it came down to it, he was scared to lose me. I reminded him of all the diets I have tried and all of the trainers and videos I have done over the past 5 years. I also showed him letters from my psychologist, nutritionist, trainer and doctor who are all supporting surgery. This surgery I am doing for myself, but I am also doing it for my family. I want to be healthy and around for the important memories we will be making in our future. If I do not take care of me, I may not be able to take care of him. Slowly he came around. He still wishes I could do it naturally, but I showed him all the research I have done and he understands I did not make this decision quickly. Best of luck to you on your journey.
