I started my pre-op diet yesterday. 1 week before my surgery on 3/28. I have 2 premier protein shakes per day 4 to 5 hours apart. I can also have coffee, 1-2 cups broth, low calorie drinks, sugar free jello and sugar free ice pops. Also tons of water. Hope this helps. Good luck.
I definitely will. My doctors office just told me they submitted me this am and it could take up to 4 weeks. That is insane. My surgery is scheduled for 3/28.
I have been at the 40 the whole time. Originally I thought I was 38 but for whatever reason the DR had the incorrect height in the system when he calced my BMI and i was actually at 40 (I should have done it myself). So because i thought i was under to begin with I never tried to loose any weight and I had to go for a sleep study(so annoying). Then my original nutritionist didn't really do what she was supposed to do so I had to switch last week (no weigh ins). So I am basically praying that it all works it self out. If I get approved with all these crazy circumstances, I would think you would have no problems.
I would think they would submit you at 40 BMI. The doctors are trying to help you and know the insurance companies play stupid games.
I'll let you know when I hear back.
Dee-Rose, I am in the same boat as you with the 40 BMI. I am just at 40. They are submitting me to Aetna today and I am freaking out. Hopefully it won't take that long to find out if I am approved. Do you know when they are submitting you to insurance?
Hi All! This is my first time posting. I am scheduled form March 28th. My BMI is only 38 and I have mild sleep apnea. I am so afraid I will be denied. I have Aeta. Does any one have an experience with this? Good luck to all of you!
